Hay everyone. Just an update. It seems DJI have changed the method shown in this video and from reports it’s no longer showing the option to change to FPV mode when you downgrade. If your seeing this is not the case please let me know but right now it appears DJI have intensionally broke this again. Frankly I’m at a loss with what’s running though their mind with this whole situation for FPV users.
I can confirm, My goggles will not activate. I tried this method, and the option to change FPV mode is gone. I cannot figure out a workaround, I have spent probably 5 hours trying to make it work and it does not seem to work. I got the full combo and connecting it to the APP has not worked either.
@Zachary Gafford are you activating it with an android phone? If so, make sure your phone has usb debugging enabled. You'll have to go to developer settings on your phone - you can look up how to do that online. It took hours before someone at DJI's support to figure out that this was my problem.

Just activated a new DJI FPV - Had problems not connecting to an Android phone. Did use the my own cable as recommended but it didn't work, then I rewatched the video and noticed that Mad had the DJI adapter plugged into the headset, then the cable into the phone. I had the adapter plugged into the phone side. When I switched it around.... It worked. Great video and comments.
I can't thank you enough. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. It was not using the OTG cable. I can't thank you enough for this clarification on this.
Yeah, you nailed it. It's the cable to connect to my phone. DJI cable must be power only. DJI Customer Tech Support told me to return the drone! DJI lady was nasty mean too. I decided to do some more research and found this video which fixed the problem! DJI should pay you because you're solving their headaches. Thank You!
I have the controller 2 but not the drone or the goggles as I'm just using the controller for sims like LiftOff, DRL etc. However the controller was seen by windows 10 and liftoff etc but would NOT calibrate. It needed to be binded/activated with the drone (and possibly the goggles as well) which I don't have. Anyway sent mine to Drone Doctor (UK) and they activated my controller to their DJI FPV drone & goggles at their establishment and problems sorted! They charged me their min repair charge and overnight return delivery was £20 total. Controller 2 now works with the sims :-). Excellent service
The work around involving the outlook account is no longer available to downgrade the firmware, reboot and upgrade. If you are anything like my where I couldn't activate the goggles from a mac. I switched to a pc and it updated immediately. sheesh
Genius explanation! I tried everything. My macbook, DJI forum and videos, other RUclips vids, all failed to activate my goggles. You easily explained it. Using my phone's charging cord and the app made all the difference. Thank you! I was so frustrated for hours..

Please help! Firmware V01.00.0606 no longer available through DJI Assistant. Only Firmware V01.10.00 available and when flashed, also does not have the ability to switch to DJI FPV digital system
@@Schmeggma. you will need to first bind to a DJI FPV drone, then the option becomes available. I found someone who owned the drone local through FB drone groups
Hello, Don't know if this method is still functional up to date It won't allow me to connect with the DJI_aftersales account My V2 goggles weren't showing voltage anymore in fpv mode so i tried to refresh firmware, now i'm stuck out of the fpv mode (for a 5" with air unit, not DJI fpv drone) If someone can help out that would be much appreciated ;) thank you !
I was having issues for a few ours until I found your video. The version now is 1.5 and I did not have to downgrade, but I was up in running in no time. Thanks Much. Your advice put in the ballpark for a successful update and activation.
Just a note which may help others continuingly getting an 'Update Failure' when downgrading to V00.05.1086. My v2 goggles were split from a kit and when i first tried this activation technique, it just kept repeatedly failing at various percentages of download. In order to make it work, first you need to upgrade to V01.01.0000, only then will V00.05.1086 become a DOWNGRADE button, then you can downgrade and continue on with this guide. Hope this helps others in my situation.
Hi, you don't have to use OTG cable. You can just use any usb-c cable with data transfer capability. I own the drone and used my own cables many times, including activation.
This got me on the right track thanks. For those with a note 10, don't try and find a data cable that has usb A at one end and usb c at the other to use the little adapter. Just use the double ended usb c that came with the phone and hook straight from the goggles to the phone
Holy crap. I had the OTG cable at the wrong side.... I uninstalled/reinstalled the app about 20 times, clearing cache, making new profiles and all along, it was the cable. FFS. 😅 I'm sure the first time I connected it was at the phone end..... Obviously not. Thanks dude. 👍
For those who are still having troubles and you normally connect your phone to your internet via wi-fi: Try moving the drone and the hand controller further away. say the back porch. then bring the phone and the headset and stand right next to your router. this will allow connection, updates, etc. The theory is that the drone video transmitter is overpowering your home wi-fi, preventing the phone from connecting to the internet. Maybe a future firmware version will put the vtx in "pit mode" during updates?

The live support told me everything you included in this video, tried on iOS, Windows, iPhone and Android. Nothing worked so far. May you know what the issue might be? Thanks in advance!
Just wanted to mention that it is super important that the DJI OTA dongle goes INTO THE GOOGLEs first, then connect it to the phone via a regular USB-C data cable. If you put the DJI dongle on the phone-end of the connection, it will NOT work. Cost 2 hours of my life...
😂😅 Right. Dji make too much difficult to make a system. It's just a business. If you can't connect you need to is contact them and thier advice is send the unit to them so thier tech engineer will check everything and you end up to pay more. Rather than you buy a new one. Dji make a super business.
After getting the downgraded firmware my goggles still dont give me the option to change to sitch to digital fpv system . Its not even an option in the about tab under the settings ?????

Hi, i have a dji fpv. I couldn't get the video in the goggles when i fly. I only inserted one memory card in the drone. Is it must to have the second memory card inserted in the goggles to get the video to show while flying?
Oops, I had the OTG adapter in the wrong end - I'm used to plugging it into my phone for mice and keyboards and such, but I guess here it's needed to make the goggles act as the master...which is a bit odd to me, because they'd never normally act as a slave device, right? Either way, it paired, now waiting for goggles battery to charge. Thanks for the instructions!

Yea it's straight retarded. You should push the on button and that should be the end of it. Plug it in and it should pull up on your computer like anything else you plug in.
I bought a DJI Avata that came with a Goggles V2. I also bought online a DJI FPV Drone separately. I tried to connect the FPV Drone to my Goggles V2 and my motion controller, There is no connection between the Goggles V2 and the FPV but the FPV Drone responds to the Motion Controller? Help please

@Mad tech, I recently bought the combo (drone, goggles, control). I plan to use goggles with the Dji drone and with the Caddx Vista air system as well. Do I have to go thru down grade process every time I switch between Caddx and Dji fpv drone?
Our first one could be activated easily on day 1 before it crashed. The second one arrived on friday and was a mess to activate somehow but your 3 hours live stream had solved it ... so thanks a lot. Regarding motion stick or how it is called: we did not like it all but it might be false to judge it as RC guy cause the judgement will be quite the opposite and really appreciated in this case: our wifes came along with a cup of coffee and for some reason we thought why not give such stick into the hands of a unbiassed newbie or at least someone who is not that happy about model RC all around the roof . We started that journey without fpv goggles on, so we did the take off and put in the brake then we handed the stick over and explained the usage without goggles on .. and from there it took up cause they asked for goggles to fly more away and to play with the controls basic features till even my wife asked for a flight and so things start to evolve in the second they * felt safe to fly * safe to control * in fully control of the craft based on fpv It is a total different story since then ... for us, the guys, cause we suddenly had been asked again when we will go to the model air strip again to fly the fpv drone . Hard to explain somehow cause they had watched the drone content we had taken in the past and they at least liked it or tried to find out where the drone had been ... over the city , countryside or woods. All those videos got a tiny attention - compared to the 5 or 8 minutes of giving them the control and explaining the basics with such stick cause the feel safe to fly the drone the way they wanted to fly (without need for help). Aftermath: we tried the same but this time my wife got a Mavic 2 with an RC controller. After first 2 or 3 movements on the sticks her interest was blown away with a single comment "overcomplicated" and she asked for the new one that I do not own so we had to ask my buddy. I guess it becomes expensive cause I might need to buy one even though I do not want one (for me). Hard to tell if the motion stick is worth the money but if not you can flip it easily and do not loose much money. Having a stick means being able to hand over the control to someone new and that helps to find a new flyer in the family like a daughter or wife or parent, people from the outside. That might be the target audience but I guess it is tough to find first time drone buyer that will spend 1.500€ for drone and stick. Our 80 year old dads were also happy about the easyness of "progress or success" to move such object in the air without much fear to loose control or hesitation to damage it. I would say I do not like the motion stick - for me, but I can recommand it for first time buyers and flyers due to the intuitiveness and therefore steep learning curve. Might be good to get new people into the RC hobby especially women that used to stay away from rc modells cause they fear to damage or crash our toys ...
In the DJI assistant on the update page there is only two firmware options the latest and the one before that how do I find the old firmware that I need to activate?

Hello, I made the mod for the V2 goggles to put the goggles in FCC and with the two drones with CADXX it has gone very well, but I recently bought a dji fpv drone and it does not let me link the goggles with the drone, also if I connect the goggles to the pc in the djiassistant application, the version that I have installed in the goggles does not appear and it does not let me update. Thanks for the video. I got my DJI FPV Combo today and observed something strange. I can connect the googles and take off with the drone without activating them first (just bring both gimbals together at the bottom) So I don't have the system connected to my smartphone or app at any point and I can still use it. This is not normal or? Why should I activate the system?
@@MadRC thanks for the answer. No there were no activation prompt at all and also no messages. Is there a possibility to check if the drone was activated by someone else before? The drone seems to be new though, all stickers and seals were intact.
I spent about an hour with DJI support. Tried the assistant, tried linking the components individually. Didn’t work. They said perhaps bad goggles to send them back. I bought it at amazon so I returned it and waiting on the new one. Thanks!!
I'm having a problem with the gimbal auto stabilizer. I start the gimbal check and it is stuck on 10% and won't do anything. I've drained the battery on both the drone and goggles several times trying to figure out the gimbal calibration. Please help me.
Thanks, I was almost bald from pulling my hair out this past week, and I started the week with more hair than ELVIS! I tried this several times unsuccessfully and found that I needed a proper USB-C Data (3.1 Gen2?) cable connected with the special adapter to get the activation to work with my Ipad Pro 11" and goggles. Now everything is all activated and happy and now I'm free to get nauseous getting used to the goggles, LOL!
Funny thing DJI never gave me a usb C connection in the box. Wonder what happened there. But thankfully got it all resolved due to a backup android phone. Cheers ❤
Question, I have the FPV drone combo. When trying to activate, do you have to have drone, controller and goggles on to connect to you DJI Fly app? Or just the goggles on and then open the Fly app. Have tried both ways and no luck with Android. Even got and old I phone 6 plus also no luck. Anymore suggestions? Dave..
@@MadRC Hi, pretty sure all cables are correct and did try different data cables. Question, when you power on the goggle battery pack do you get some indication that the goggles are on? I get nothing. Also I checked the battery pack which should have an output of 9V I get nothing at the connector end that plugs into the goggles? I have contacted DJI and they have given me a case number, so I guess I have to send everything back, but would just like to send back the goggles, cable and power brick. Anyway some what bummed. Dave....

I just bought DJI FPV googles v2. I'm still before activation but have a question before I proceed further. Can I de-activate them when I'll be potentially selling them in the future? I can't find much information other than just "no" on some DJI forum. Will my email or personal data will be stored in the googles? RC Schim pointed your channel and suggested that you might know ;)
Your personal details are not stored on board. Basically the activation is for warranty. Once done you can’t undo it. All you need to do before sale is perform a full reset and the next owner will be able to use with their own DJI account.

My V2 goggles won't show a video image and won't connect to my Caddx Nista. They do work with my air unit and I'm running v.0606. This is all brand new hardware. My friend has the same issue with his caddx Nubula. Air unit works but no image from from his Nubula on my or his V2 goggles. What's the fix?? thx

Tried your steps, my version for the goggles is 1.01.000. It doesn't show any other options. The app doesn't provide any other updates either. I have the DJI fpv drone but my only issue is that the Up and Down Buttons on the Goggles don't do anything. I can't switch options within the goggles. It's always sitting at "Status". I returned the combo pack and got a new one. But still the same issue.
Hello: I got my V2 goggles activated then tried to connect to the drone. The drone is connected to the DJI controller but will not connect to the goggles. The goggles are beeping and the drone shows flashing yellow trying to link but will not link. Any ideas? J
Ok check this out i got everything activated, I had a nice picture in my goggles and everything was linked and of course dji famous update when it was finished and I came back it said 100% but said installation failure but my goggles was like they had no power??? The battery was fine and the connection was good and even when I plugged the controller into the computer and used dji assistant 2 it said my controller was updated but it wouldn't even recognize the goggles because it just seems like they died, absolutely not getting power even tho the battery is fine, any help or suggestions?

Hey guys, have a weird issue. I purchased the whole combo from DJI's website. Connected everything according to the video tutorial. When the update was done, I was ready to fly but get a "Aircraft Checking Activation Status.... Please Wait" message. It never goes away. This message appears when I hit the "Go Fly" button. On the fpv I have DEVICE NOT ACTIVATED. Help... Please...
Will it let you fly? I would try reflash the firmware again on the goggles and drone via Assistant 2 for FPV, you could also try another smart device. Just to confirm you have App V1.3. Try deleting it and download it again.

I also re-binded all devices. Nothing seems to work. I DO have communication between the headset and the cellphone. I am just stuck on the screen "Aircraft checking activation status..." :(
Hello, my goggles used to work fine. two weeks ago and they dont work anymore. it seems a software issue, since the fans goggles are working. they make noise, but I dont get any signal on the goggles. I can't even see anything on my phone when i'm pairing the goggles, the drone and the controller. it's a pain. also calling to DJI customer service is another pain in the butt. the signal is terrible. they tell to watch a video, and later i submit a repair ticket, but it seems the ticket is mail it to my home, not through email. I did everything in this video but the password seems doesnt work anymore. also, i have a Mac and this update only works with windows. Any help? thanks. I even tried to join to the facebook official drones, but it's pending my request and I have to return this windows laptop....
just activated my v2 - all went well. have video. The funny thing was this: I activated only - did not run any updates, for fear of something going wrong. The Assistant said I was on version v01.00.0300 for both the air unit and goggles. (activated air unit 1st, then goggles 2nd - then bound via bind buttons, goggles 1st then air unit 2nd) but in my goggles it says I'm on version v01.00.0600 ??? go figure? how did that happen? anyways it seems to have worked great. updated through my email - not through the internal company email hope they keep working correctly. just finishing my new build and hope to be in the air within a few days.
I did the steps and downgraded the firmware, but when I try to enter the settings in the goggles. I can't use the up and down buttons to acces the settings there, any advice? The buttons make the beeping sound, but nothing happens
Just received DJI goggles back from long warranty process, the problem still persists, they wanted to charge be 350EUR for fix they didn't even fix. The option is there now but is greyed out - disabled. Journey continues. I got a free DJI bag as an apology so far.

Can anybody help? I recently purchased DJi Goggles v2. Goggles Activated and connected to the drone without a problem. Drone with CADDX Vista Nebula Nano HD. Unfortunately, after launching, I cannot navigate through the menu. I can not go down to the settings tab, for example. As if the menu is locked. Could this be a defect of the goggles? Firmware in the latest version.
Yes, there was a time when I could change channels on the menu. Everything else was blocked. After refreshing the firmware, I also cannot select the channel.
my fpv controller not connecting to windows to play sim like liftoff. Wanted to try it out to get use to it on a sim but cant get it to work tried everything.
You wouldn’t by chance know how to fix goggles that were purchased separately but need to be synced to dji fpv drone? The solo goggles only seem to allow you to use air units and won’t update firmware so stuck in dji fpv digital system mode.
Update them to latest firmware and you may be ok. However if they are not activated you may need need the dji drone to do that. No way around that sadly.
As another update. The method without the drone DOES NOT WORK. It used to but they took away the firmware. Waiting to see what DJI will do. Got a hint today that maybe a new firmware that I can't see on the dji tool yet will fix this but dunno. Hoping.

I still cant activate the goggles , went over the steps . The only weird thing i noticed was that the firmware number is different in the DJI outlook account mine says V00.05.1806 not 05.1086 Not sure if this is why i cant switch to DJI digital fpv system

I'm trying to activate my new DJI FPV. The current system DJI has put together is fucking ridiculous. I phoned the shop I bought it from, and they told me to download the DJI Assistant 2, which I did. I connect the Goggles and it says I have to update the firmware on the DJI Fly App. I connect to the Fly App (downloaded from DJI website) and it keeps failing. Fucking crazy!!! I've already downloaded the Firmware update on my Android. All it has to do is install it. But no Fn way will it do it. I'm getting Installation Failed (Code-3100)
@@MadRC When I power up the Goggles (the controller and drone are off) I get a message on the screen that says "Goggles Firmware version out of date. Connect to DJI Fly and update to the latest Firmware version". The DJI Fly App shows there's a connection to the Goggles. But it doesn't do anything. The message doesn't change. When I power up the drone and the controller, the App doesn't show a connection. The radio has four lights blinking off and on. The drone has fast flashing green lights at the rear, solid red on the front. Finally the App recognises the drone and controller. I get a message Installing DJI FPV firmware failed..retry. I click retry and it shows 40% for a second, then fails. Then a black window opens with info on the firmware, 293.45MB etc. and RETRY at the lower right. I click it and it briefly shows a circle with 40% then fails. The controller was beeping and now shut itself off. This is all so fkg crazy and frustrating. I put my phone right beside my WiFi router. I deleted DJI Fly and re downloading again.

That after-sales login doesn't work anymore. I'm at a loss for how to use the product *I've purchased* but unable to use atm :/

My V2 goggles weren't showing voltage anymore in fpv mode so i tried to refresh firmware, now i'm stuck out of the fpv mode (for a 5" with air unit, not DJI fpv drone)

I was having issues for a few ours until I found your video. The version now is 1.5 and I did not have to downgrade, but I was up in running in no time. Thanks Much. Your advice put in the ballpark for a successful update and activation.
Just a note which may help others continuingly getting an 'Update Failure' when downgrading to V00.05.1086. My v2 goggles were split from a kit and when i first tried this activation technique, it just kept repeatedly failing at various percentages of download. In order to make it work, first you need to upgrade to V01.01.0000, only then will V00.05.1086 become a DOWNGRADE button, then you can downgrade and continue on with this guide. Hope this helps others in my situation.

Hi, you don't have to use OTG cable. You can just use any usb-c cable with data transfer capability. I own the drone and used my own cables many times, including activation.
Question: Does it work for other Vista units of my built drones? or just for the DJI drone?

This got me on the right track thanks. For those with a note 10, don't try and find a data cable that has usb A at one end and usb c at the other to use the little adapter. Just use the double ended usb c that came with the phone and hook straight from the goggles to the phone
Holy crap. I had the OTG cable at the wrong side.... I uninstalled/reinstalled the app about 20 times, clearing cache, making new profiles and all along, it was the cable. FFS. 😅
I'm sure the first time I connected it was at the phone end..... Obviously not.

For those who are still having troubles and you normally connect your phone to your internet via wi-fi:
Try moving the drone and the hand controller further away. say the back porch. then bring the phone and the headset and stand right next to your router. this will allow connection, updates, etc.
The theory is that the drone video transmitter is overpowering your home wi-fi, preventing the phone from connecting to the internet.
Maybe a future firmware version will put the vtx in "pit mode" during updates?

Try another WiFi connection or Celualr data. It’s possible your router is blocking the connection

Just wanted to mention that it is super important that the DJI OTA dongle goes INTO THE GOOGLEs first, then connect it to the phone via a regular USB-C data cable. If you put the DJI dongle on the phone-end of the connection, it will NOT work. Cost 2 hours of my life...
😂😅 Right. Dji make too much difficult to make a system. It's just a business. If you can't connect you need to is contact them and thier advice is send the unit to them so thier tech engineer will check everything and you end up to pay more. Rather than you buy a new one. Dji make a super business.

Hi, i have a dji fpv. I couldn't get the video in the goggles when i fly. I only inserted one memory card in the drone. Is it must to have the second memory card inserted in the goggles to get the video to show while flying?
Oops, I had the OTG adapter in the wrong end - I'm used to plugging it into my phone for mice and keyboards and such, but I guess here it's needed to make the goggles act as the master...which is a bit odd to me, because they'd never normally act as a slave device, right? Either way, it paired, now waiting for goggles battery to charge. Thanks for the instructions!

Yea it's straight retarded. You should push the on button and that should be the end of it.
Plug it in and it should pull up on your computer like anything else you plug in.

I plan to use goggles with the Dji drone and with the Caddx Vista air system as well. Do I have to go thru down grade process every time I switch between Caddx and Dji fpv drone?
Our first one could be activated easily on day 1 before it crashed. The second one arrived on friday and was a mess to activate somehow but your 3 hours live stream had solved it ... so thanks a lot.
Regarding motion stick or how it is called: we did not like it all
but it might be false to judge it as RC guy cause the judgement will be quite the opposite and really appreciated in this case:
our wifes came along with a cup of coffee and for some reason we thought why not give such stick into the hands of a unbiassed newbie or at least someone who is not that happy about model RC all around the roof .
We started that journey without fpv goggles on, so we did the take off and put in the brake
then we handed the stick over and explained the usage without goggles on ..
and from there it took up cause they asked for goggles to fly more away and to play with the controls basic features till even my wife asked for a flight and so things start to evolve in the second they
* felt safe to fly
* safe to control
* in fully control of the craft based on fpv
It is a total different story since then ... for us, the guys, cause we suddenly had been asked again when we will go to the model air strip again to fly the fpv drone .
Hard to explain somehow cause they had watched the drone content we had taken in the past and they at least liked it or tried to find out where the drone had been ... over the city , countryside or woods.
All those videos got a tiny attention - compared to the 5 or 8 minutes of giving them the control and explaining the basics with such stick cause the feel safe to fly the drone the way they wanted to fly (without need for help).
Aftermath: we tried the same but this time my wife got a Mavic 2 with an RC controller.
After first 2 or 3 movements on the sticks her interest was blown away with a single comment "overcomplicated" and she asked for the new one that I do not own so we had to ask my buddy.
I guess it becomes expensive cause I might need to buy one even though I do not want one (for me).
Hard to tell if the motion stick is worth the money but if not you can flip it easily and do not loose much money.
Having a stick means being able to hand over the control to someone new and that helps to find a new flyer in the family like a daughter or wife or parent, people from the outside.
That might be the target audience but I guess it is tough to find first time drone buyer that will spend 1.500€ for drone and stick.
Our 80 year old dads were also happy about the easyness of "progress or success" to move such object in the air without much fear to loose control or hesitation to damage it.
I would say I do not like the motion stick - for me,
but I can recommand it for first time buyers and flyers due to the intuitiveness and therefore steep learning curve.
Might be good to get new people into the RC hobby especially women that used to stay away from rc modells cause they fear to damage or crash our toys ...

Hello, I made the mod for the V2 goggles to put the goggles in FCC and with the two drones with CADXX it has gone very well, but I recently bought a dji fpv drone and it does not let me link the goggles with the drone, also if I connect the goggles to the pc in the djiassistant application, the version that I have installed in the goggles does not appear and it does not let me update. Thanks for the video. I got my DJI FPV Combo today and observed something strange. I can connect the googles and take off with the drone without activating them first (just bring both gimbals together at the bottom) So I don't have the system connected to my smartphone or app at any point and I can still use it.

I spent about an hour with DJI support. Tried the assistant, tried linking the components individually. Didn’t work. They said perhaps bad goggles to send them back. I bought it at amazon so I returned it and waiting on the new one. Thanks!!

I'm having a problem with the gimbal auto stabilizer. I start the gimbal check and it is stuck on 10% and won't do anything. I've drained the battery on both the drone and goggles several times trying to figure out the gimbal calibration. Please help me.

Thanks, I was almost bald from pulling my hair out this past week, and I started the week with more hair than ELVIS! I tried this several times unsuccessfully and found that I needed a proper USB-C Data (3.1 Gen2?) cable connected with the special adapter to get the activation to work with my Ipad Pro 11" and goggles. Now everything is all activated and happy and now I'm free to get nauseous getting used to the goggles, LOL!

Funny thing DJI never gave me a usb C connection in the box. Wonder what happened there. But thankfully got it all resolved due to a backup android phone. Cheers ❤
What is the OTG thingy REALLY doing?? Is there something inside it that "encodes" something or no?
It’s wiring order. It’s different pin out than just using usb c your cable.

Question, I have the FPV drone combo. When trying to activate, do you have to have drone, controller and goggles on to connect to you DJI Fly app? Or just the goggles on and then open the Fly app. Have tried both ways and no luck with Android. Even got and old I phone 6 plus also no luck.

@@MadRC Hi, pretty sure all cables are correct and did try different data cables. Question, when you power on the goggle battery pack do you get some indication that the goggles are on? I get nothing. Also I checked the battery pack which should have an output of 9V I get nothing at the connector end that plugs into the goggles? I have contacted DJI and they have given me a case number, so I guess I have to send everything back, but would just like to send back the goggles, cable and power brick. Anyway some what bummed. Hi, I must confirm I do not see the option to downgrade using the DJI login. My standalone googles V2 came with in FPV mode (not DJI FPV) and i cannot update the firmware. Thankfully i can connect to my caddx vista.
The option to downgrade was not present in the DJI assistant 2 app. Please advise anyone!

I just bought DJI FPV googles v2. I'm still before activation but have a question before I proceed further. Can I de-activate them when I'll be potentially selling them in the future? I can't find much information other than just "no" on some DJI forum. Will my email or personal data will be stored in the googles? RC Schim pointed your channel and suggested that you might know ;)
Your personal details are not stored on board. Basically the activation is for warranty. Once done you can’t undo it. All you need to do before sale is perform a full reset and the next owner will be able to use with their own DJI account.

My V2 goggles won't show a video image and won't connect to my Caddx Nista. They do work with my air unit and I'm running v.0606. This is all brand new hardware. My friend has the same issue with his caddx Nubula. Air unit works but no image from from his Nubula on my or his V2 goggles. What's the fix?? thx
That’s really odd, have you tried refreshing the firmware on all the units.
@@MadRC yes. Both air unit and lite (vista) are on the same 100.0600 firmware. No connection with vista.

Tried your steps, my version for the goggles is 1.01.000. It doesn't show any other options. The app doesn't provide any other updates either. I have the DJI fpv drone but my only issue is that the Up and Down Buttons on the Goggles don't do anything. I can't switch options within the goggles. It's always sitting at "Status". I returned the combo pack and got a new one. But still the same issue.
For me the problem was the OTG cable I got rid of it and connected with my cellphone cable usb c to usb c and worked perfectly

Hello: I got my V2 goggles activated then tried to connect to the drone. The drone is connected to the DJI controller but will not connect to the goggles. The goggles are beeping and the drone shows flashing yellow trying to link but will not link. Any ideas? J

Ok check this out i got everything activated, I had a nice picture in my goggles and everything was linked and of course dji famous update when it was finished and I came back it said 100% but said installation failure but my goggles was like they had no power??? The battery was fine and the connection was good and even when I plugged the controller into the computer and used dji assistant 2 it said my controller was updated but it wouldn't even recognize the goggles because it just seems like they died, absolutely not getting power even tho the battery is fine, any help or suggestions?
That’s not good. All I can suggest is keep trying to refresh the firmware a few times. . But if that wont Id open a ticket.

Hey guys, have a weird issue. I purchased the whole combo from DJI's website. Connected everything according to the video tutorial.
When the update was done, I was ready to fly but get a "Aircraft Checking Activation Status.... Please Wait" message. It never goes away. This message appears when I hit the "Go Fly" button. On the fpv I have DEVICE NOT ACTIVATED.

I would try reflash the firmware again on the goggles and drone via Assistant 2 for FPV, you could also try another smart device.
Just to confirm you have App V1.3. Try deleting it and download it again.

My menu options don't come up anymore. It's barley used I own the drone. I can see through the camera on drone. But the menu won't work on goggles

Hello, my goggles used to work fine. two weeks ago and they dont work anymore. it seems a software issue, since the fans goggles are working. they make noise, but I dont get any signal on the goggles. I can't even see anything on my phone when i'm pairing the goggles, the drone and the controller. it's a pain. also calling to DJI customer service is another pain in the butt.
the signal is terrible. they tell to watch a video, and later i submit a repair ticket, but it seems the ticket is mail it to my home, not through email.
I did everything in this video but the password seems doesnt work anymore. also, i have a Mac and this update only works with windows.

The funny thing was this: I activated only - did not run any updates, for fear of something going wrong.
The Assistant said I was on version v01.00.0300 for both the air unit and goggles. (activated air unit 1st, then goggles 2nd - then bound via bind buttons, goggles 1st then air unit 2nd)
but in my goggles it says I'm on version v01.00.0600 ??? go figure? how did that happen?

Just received DJI goggles back from long warranty process, the problem still persists, they wanted to charge be 350EUR for fix they didn't even fix. The option is there now but is greyed out - disabled. Journey continues. I got a free DJI bag as an apology so far.

I recently purchased DJi Goggles v2. Goggles Activated and connected to the drone without a problem.
Drone with CADDX Vista Nebula Nano HD.
Unfortunately, after launching, I cannot navigate through the menu.
I can not go down to the settings tab, for example. As if the menu is locked.
Could this be a defect of the goggles?

Yes, there was a time when I could change channels on the menu. Everything else was blocked. After refreshing the firmware, I also cannot select the channel.

The dji account is not working anymore. I am getting error messages. I just bought the Goggles V2 and cannot activate or change firmeware.
Just activate as normal and update the firmware. That will solve the issues now.
@@MadRC with the consumer DA2 I could pass activation and update to .606. But still not activate.

my fpv controller not connecting to windows to play sim like liftoff. Wanted to try it out to get use to it on a sim but cant get it to work tried everything.
You wouldn’t by chance know how to fix goggles that were purchased separately but need to be synced to dji fpv drone? The solo goggles only seem to allow you to use air units and won’t update firmware so stuck in dji fpv digital system mode.
Update them to latest firmware and you may be ok. However if they are not activated you may need need the dji drone to do that. No way around that sadly.
As another update. The method without the drone DOES NOT WORK. It used to but they took away the firmware. Waiting to see what DJI will do. Got a hint today that maybe a new firmware that I can't see on the dji tool yet will fix this but dunno. Hoping.

That should not matter. So do you not have the option to switch once downgraded ? It is hiding below the bottom and you need to scroll down to see it

Have you tried scrolling below that option ? If so reset the goggles and see if it appears.

I'm trying to activate my new DJI FPV. The current system DJI has put together is fucking ridiculous. I phoned the shop I bought it from, and they told me to download the DJI Assistant 2, which I did. I connect the Goggles and it says I have to update the firmware on the DJI Fly App. I connect to the Fly App (downloaded from DJI website) and it keeps failing. Fucking crazy!!! I've already downloaded the Firmware update on my Android. All it has to do is install it. But no Fn way will it do it. I'm getting Installation Failed (Code-3100)
On your goggles are in FPV drone mode.
Try bringing your phone closer to your router or Wifi as the Ocusync can affect the WiFi connection.
@@MadRC When I power up the Goggles (the controller and drone are off) I get a message on the screen that says "Goggles Firmware version out of date. Connect to DJI Fly and update to the latest Firmware version". The DJI Fly App shows there's a connection to the Goggles. But it doesn't do anything. The message doesn't change. When I power up the drone and the controller, the App doesn't show a connection. The radio has four lights blinking off and on. The drone has fast flashing green lights at the rear, solid red on the front. Finally the App recognises the drone and controller. I get a message Installing DJI FPV firmware failed..retry. I click retry and it shows 40% for a second, then fails. Then a black window opens with info on the firmware, 293.45MB etc. and RETRY at the lower right. I click it and it briefly shows a circle with 40% then fails. The controller was beeping and now shut itself off. This is all so fkg crazy and frustrating. I put my phone right beside my WiFi router. I deleted DJI Fly and re downloading again.

My remote control is not working, Googles and drone are linked but controller is not turning on :-( what can I do
