Excellent video. You are the first person on RUclips that I have found that actually had correct info and knew what they were doing. Spent hours last night trying to figure this out and you had me up and running in 1/2 an hour.

Found a neat way to get around those apparently bad batteries with four flashing leds. Thank goodness for the internet. My quesiton here is.... the computer thingy didn't work because I had to register the drone on the fly app. When I did the fly app; apparently all firmware was updated.... so I don't' think I have to go to the computer under assistant. Should I be good to go; or do you recommend starting all over with the computer first and then the phone. It physically says updating firmware on the phone app for everything; except the batteries.
Man your videos are so good. Figured out my phone doesn't allow these types of apps so I had to change settings to download the fly app. No one does drone vids as good as you.
Simple method : Charge all batteries. Turn each device on and lay all on table . Plug OTG cable into goggles and other end into phone . Open DJI Fly App and hit OK when it ask to update Firmware. All devices update at the same time from the app . Done . Go Fly

It is only required by you if you have no flying experience, thus you are more likely to damage your drone. If you know how to fly, then it is not needed.

Both batteries with my fly combo will not charge. All four leds come on blinking rapidly. How do I remedy this. Got this drone a couple years ago and just now setting it up.
I already have the DJI Goggles v2 and use them with the Air Unit. I’ve just bought a separate controller on eBay thinking that I could use it with the Goggles and the Simulator. I’ve tried to pair the Goggles to the Controller by pressing the red button on the Goggles and holding the power button down on the controller. They beep and everything, but don’t seem to pair without the drone. Is there a way to pair the Goggles to the Controller without the drone?

I updated everything just by connecting my phone (with Wi-Fi) to my V2 goggles and it connected with everything else. No need to connect everything separately
If I understand correctly, assistant 2 for pc and djifly app for iphone can be used for the same account, we can use both pc at home and iphone in the field!
I’m having a lot of trouble getting the goggle battery to stay on. When I short press the button then press and hold it lights stay on solid instead flash after a few seconds it just cuts off.?I’ve watched your video as well as several other RUclips videos. I Even bought a a another battery on Dji store. I’ve tried your way hundreds of time with both battery’s . I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Any suggestions?

I’ve literally did exactly what did in your video 500 times. I’m pulling my hair out. Is there another power source?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 yes all 4 lights stay on. I single press then press and hold. What makes it so frustrating is I purchased a second battery on DJI’s web site. I’m doing everything your saying. After a few seconds all 4 lights go off instead of it staying on.

DJI Fly ever since Nov hasn't been available for an update on the Play store. You need to download it directly from DJI's download center via their website.
Hey Steve I received my Jumper T-Lite but I'm unable to bind it to a FrySky receiver R-XSR. I'm not sure what to pick for the Type under Internal RF. I hope you can help me. Quad is a Iflight Protek 25. Red light is flashing on the receiver indicating it's in binding mode. I'm thinking I might have to flash the firmware on the Jumper T-LIte. Thank you!
From memory, I can't recall what the receiver is called on the radio that you need to select... Look for the FRSKY receiver and the one you want is something like FRSKY 2 or something like that.

This Jumper T-Lite is not user friendly to bind with a FrSky receiver but this is also my first time doing it. Thanks for the help Steve I will figure it out eventually.

I'm really keen to find out, can I invert the controller? MY brain and muscle memory is wired that when I down on the stick then I lift, when I push down then I descend.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I tried mode 2 and it did my head in using both sticks to co-ordinate to do one thing. Mode 1, although not perfect (right stick forward to descend) it’s much more intuitive. Would much prefer if the DJI Virtual Flight app wasn’t so pixelated, even when it’s knocked up to high.
So everytime a battery is inserted, The app will want us to upgrade? Even if it's the SAME ones? Or is it a one time upgrade once it knows evey battery we use?
Only after you have done a FIRMWARE update, then all batteries that you own, must also have the FIRMWARE updated on them. Just need to do this once per firmware update. Then you can fly for a few weeks or months until the next firmware update, and repeat the process.
Get so much hate for this drone but its great for filming around town. I don't let the trash talk even effect me. I have full acro drone as well. I like both.
I updated the firmware and I wanted to practice on the simulator using the controller and goggles and my IPhone. I can see the image in my goggles that’s on my phone but as for me using the sticks, nothing happens. Followed all the steps and so I’m stuck. Any thoughts on what to do next ?

Any word on the flight restriction geofencing issue? Is there a way to disable it or acknowledge it and carry on with personal responsibility? I'd grab one if I knew I can at least hover in my own back yard. currently I would not be able to do so as my friend with a Mavic could not even fly when they was at my house due to the geofencing/Flight restriction crap! .

I have a question regarding manual mode...i only flew on normal and sport mode but when ill be ready for manual and the left stick is no longer centered what will happened if i switch to normal mode? If the left stick if not centered should i only fly on manual? Is it dangerous to fly normal or sport with the left stick uncentered?
If you watch my DJI FPV DRONE episode 2 - HOW TO FLY THIS THING video, then you will have all your answers. But in short, if you ever wish to fly in manual mode you must first lear how to fly in NORMAL and SPORT mode with the left joystick spring tension removed so it falls to the bottom. It is then up to you to train your brain to use the LEFT joystick as your height control when flying in Normal and Sport because if you do nothing, the drone will begin to fall to the ground in Normal and Sport mode if the joystick is below center.

Dji fly will not install on my phone even though it's in the compatible list galaxy s6...something about parse error....The go4 app is not a problem....So can I link and activate my fpv combo with the DJI assist 2 fpv version.....if not I have spent £900 for a dust collector....I am not prepared to buy another phone just to use this drone....This is really bad marketing for dji.....any advice from you CAPTAIN DRONE would be much needed...
DJI makes it so that their products are made for beginners which means they want you to use their app so that you can register everything to your DJI account and they can then capture that information. For this drone the registering/linking pretty much requires the DJI FLY app. The App also works on a tablet... The App just looks for a 64 bit processor and you have to give it full access, so if on your phone you said no to anything, it won't work. Also did you download the DJI FLY APP from the DJI DOWNLOADS website?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Firstly, thanks for getting back. Yes I downloaded the apk from the dji website. Said yes to everything and agreed. Set up my dji account. But keep getting a parsing error when trying to install....I do need a new tablet...but just spent a lot on this drone....I did check and do my homework before buying. My phone was listed as compatible...So a tablet is going to set me back another couple of hundred quid....Any suggestions on a tablet as cheap as possible...It would be musch easier if dji had a pc app that I could put on the laptop....Lets just say dji are in my bad books. Again thanks for info and getting back to me.
@@CannonBallEddie parsing error. If your phone is compatible then the error is due to installing an APK file without permission. Your phone is set to only install from the Playstore perhaps. Check your phone settings for installation of apps. If unsure what to check for you’ll have to research Parse error and APK file installation.

Well, since this video is so old quick question bought the drone and goggles from a friend bought the controller separately. he has everything flashed on the goggles when I connect everything all it says is signal transmission lost on the goggles and nothing will work Any suggestions?
Also, he sold me a little 3 1/2 inch freestyle drone with a cadx system on it which she flashed on the goggles as well. It says FPV digital system I think. If I flash firmware on the goggles, will it erase all of that?
I have another question Steve.. Since i fly with the google only (without the phone connected to the google) i dont see the flight history.. Is there a way to see all this info on the google?
When you are finished a days flying, you have to then connect your phone to the goggles which drone/controller is on, go into DJI Fly, and you'll be asked if you want to update your logs.

@@abracadabra3814 DJI has placed all your flight data to be controlled by the goggles. So whenever you wish to update your flight records (to show all your flight logs connected to your DJI ACCOUNT) you have to connect your phone to the goggles and open the DJI FLY App as per my instructions above. You are probably missing a step or doing something wrong but you'll figure it out.
Furthermore DJI if u won’t me to run up and down the street butt naked just to link my already linked from the factory done…u should just ask it’s faster…everyone goes home in a limo…thanks captain for clearing this up👍
Thanks for the tip about uninstalling and the reinstalling DJI Fly. I had a mini 2 and mavic 3 installed but the new FPV did not seem to want to activate. Deleting the (Android) DJI Fly app solved the problem. That being said, the amount of cables, updatesa and 100 steps needed is not for the faint of heart.

If you receiver no complaints in your FPV Goggles when everything is powered on, then you are good to fly.

I noticed in your early video the props are not in the shot when you have a filter on the camera
Props are only in the shot when hovering or flying slow. Fast flying, there are no props. Also if you use an ND filter the props are not as visible.
Captain for the DJI fpv goggles you can put on any antenna any way?

This is a DJI product, so in other words everything has to be DJI to work, and it has to be identical to what came in the DJI FPV Drone kit.

DJI FLY is the only app for such drones

I prefer a computer for ease, but yes you can do it with your phone and the DJI FLY APP.

You can leave your phone at home when you go out to fly (it is 100% not required).

DJI batteries are all the same. One press, then a second press and hold.

In the past nope (DJI did not allow it), but perhaps today it can.
DJI Fly ever since Nov hasn't been available for an update on the Play store. You need to download it directly from DJI's download center via their website.

Hey Steve I received my Jumper T-Lite but I'm unable to bind it to a FrySky receiver R-XSR. I'm not sure what to pick for the Type under Internal RF. I hope you can help me. Quad is a Iflight Protek 25. Red light is flashing on the receiver indicating it's in binding mode. I'm thinking I might have to flash the firmware on the Jumper T-LIte. Thank you!
From memory, I can't recall what the receiver is called on the radio that you need to select... Look for the FRSKY receiver and the one you want is something like FRSKY 2 or something like that.

This Jumper T-Lite is not user friendly to bind with a FrSky receiver but this is also my first time doing it. Thanks for the help Steve I will figure it out eventually.

So 1 activate my already paired google googles with my phone fly app then activate them with my computer with DJI account then paired them with my what!!!!!….great drone bad house cleaning…good job capt…u saved the day

I'm really keen to find out, can I invert the controller? MY brain and muscle memory is wired that when I down on the stick then I lift, when I push down then I descend.
All REMOTE settings are handled within the GOGGLES settings.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I tried mode 2 and it did my head in using both sticks to co-ordinate to do one thing. Mode 1, although not perfect (right stick forward to descend) it’s much more intuitive. Would much prefer if the DJI Virtual Flight app wasn’t so pixelated, even when it’s knocked up to high.
I have to have the phone always connected to the Cats, because when I disconnect it I get remote ID error

So everytime a battery is inserted, The app will want us to upgrade? Even if it's the SAME ones? Or is it a one time upgrade once it knows evey battery we use?
Only after you have done a FIRMWARE update, then all batteries that you own, must also have the FIRMWARE updated on them. Just need to do this once per firmware update. Then you can fly for a few weeks or months until the next firmware update, and repeat the process.
Get so much hate for this drone but its great for filming around town. I don't let the trash talk even effect me. I have full acro drone as well. I like both.

I updated the firmware and I wanted to practice on the simulator using the controller and goggles and my IPhone. I can see the image in my goggles that’s on my phone but as for me using the sticks, nothing happens. Followed all the steps and so I’m stuck. Any thoughts on what to do next ?

Any word on the flight restriction geofencing issue? Is there a way to disable it or acknowledge it and carry on with personal responsibility? I'd grab one if I knew I can at least hover in my own back yard. currently I would not be able to do so as my friend with a Mavic could not even fly when they was at my house due to the geofencing/Flight restriction crap! .
You'd have to do like every DJI drone and that is you ask DJI for a code and accept responsibility, and it is then unlocked if you're in such a zone.

Where do I get the binding code from ?
it should be automatic. If not, you put the items into bind mode by holding down the power button until you see a change or hear a tone.
I have a question regarding manual mode...i only flew on normal and sport mode but when ill be ready for manual and the left stick is no longer centered what will happened if i switch to normal mode?
If the left stick if not centered should i only fly on manual?
Is it dangerous to fly normal or sport with the left stick uncentered?
If you watch my DJI FPV DRONE episode 2 - HOW TO FLY THIS THING video, then you will have all your answers. But in short, if you ever wish to fly in manual mode you must first lear how to fly in NORMAL and SPORT mode with the left joystick spring tension removed so it falls to the bottom. It is then up to you to train your brain to use the LEFT joystick as your height control when flying in Normal and Sport because if you do nothing, the drone will begin to fall to the ground in Normal and Sport mode if the joystick is below center.

DJI FPV Googles version 2 will work with any Digital drone from iFlight. But you'll need a radio and a battery charger as well as batteries.

Dji fly will not install on my phone even though it's in the compatible list galaxy s6...something about parse error....The go4 app is not a problem....So can I link and activate my fpv combo with the DJI assist 2 fpv version.....if not I have spent £900 for a dust collector....I am not prepared to buy another phone just to use this drone....This is really bad marketing for dji.....any advice from you CAPTAIN DRONE would be much needed...
DJI makes it so that their products are made for beginners which means they want you to use their app so that you can register everything to your DJI account and they can then capture that information. For this drone the registering/linking pretty much requires the DJI FLY app. The App also works on a tablet... The App just looks for a 64 bit processor and you have to give it full access, so if on your phone you said no to anything, it won't work. Also did you download the DJI FLY APP from the DJI DOWNLOADS website?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Firstly, thanks for getting back. Yes I downloaded the apk from the dji website. Said yes to everything and agreed. Set up my dji account. But keep getting a parsing error when trying to install....I do need a new tablet...but just spent a lot on this drone....I did check and do my homework before buying. My phone was listed as compatible...So a tablet is going to set me back another couple of hundred quid....Any suggestions on a tablet as cheap as possible...It would be musch easier if dji had a pc app that I could put on the laptop....Lets just say dji are in my bad books. Again thanks for info and getting back to me.
@@CannonBallEddie parsing error. If your phone is compatible then the error is due to installing an APK file without permission. Your phone is set to only install from the Playstore perhaps. Check your phone settings for installation of apps. If unsure what to check for you’ll have to research Parse error and APK file installation.

Well, since this video is so old quick question bought the drone and goggles from a friend bought the controller separately. he has everything flashed on the goggles when I connect everything all it says is signal transmission lost on the goggles and nothing will work Any suggestions?
Also, he sold me a little 3 1/2 inch freestyle drone with a cadx system on it which she flashed on the goggles as well. It says FPV digital system I think. If I flash firmware on the goggles, will it erase all of that?
It means either items are not powered on or not all items are on the same firmware version or the wrong transmission is selected in the goggles

Since i fly with the google only (without the phone connected to the google) i dont see the flight history..
Is there a way to see all this info on the google?
When you are finished a days flying, you have to then connect your phone to the goggles which drone/controller is on, go into DJI Fly, and you'll be asked if you want to update your logs.

@@abracadabra3814 DJI has placed all your flight data to be controlled by the goggles. So whenever you wish to update your flight records (to show all your flight logs connected to your DJI ACCOUNT) you have to connect your phone to the goggles and open the DJI FLY App as per my instructions above. You are probably missing a step or doing something wrong but you'll figure it out.
Furthermore DJI if u won’t me to run up and down the street butt naked just to link my already linked from the factory done…u should just ask it’s faster…everyone goes home in a limo…thanks captain for clearing this up👍
which cable do you use to power the goggles while llinking
IM CRYING
Only one unique cable powers the goggles. Round end on one end of cable and USB large size on other end to fit in small battery.

Thanks for the tip about uninstalling and the reinstalling DJI Fly. I had a mini 2 and mavic 3 installed but the new FPV did not seem to want to activate. Deleting the (Android) DJI Fly app solved the problem. That being said, the amount of cables, updatesa and 100 steps needed is not for the faint of heart.

If you updated the firmware on everything and the cable you are using to connect to your phone sends data, it will work.
