I took my lowers off as soon as I got the chance haven't been on since.
Awesome, I am sure you noticed a decrease in temperatures with just removing the lowers.

If you do not have a oil cooler, you could do it. But I'll never trade my knee health and comfort to some drop in engine temp. My engine is OK with all that installed.

Regarding heat, if you're comfortable and you are comfortable with the temps of your ride, Great!

What about lower fairings? Do they help or hurt engine temps?
It really depends on what bike you have. Some bikes you can not remove the lower fairings. If you have a bike that you can remove your lower fairings it can certainly help with lowering temps to get those big air blockers off of your bike.

I do not see where it came stock on your bike when I look at the OEM parts finder for you specific year and model, but if you want to look to see if you have it you can look at the link below and see a picture of it and where it mounts on the bike. - www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/shop/front-fork-air-baffle/p/58520-79TC

I don't have any wind block on my 016 Road King. But OMG I'm getting beat to pieces from the air coming around my gas tank. Would a tank lift help that?
A Tank Lift and Cooling Deflector wings would certainly help with that along with pushing that air away from you and to your engine allowing for more cooling.
