    I love and hate seeing videos on the Intimidators. They will be my next upgrade, but I hate waiting for it to be the right time.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I totally understand the anticipation that comes with waiting for the right time to upgrade. I hope you get to upgrade sooner rather than later.
      Happy riding until then, and I am sure the Intimidators will be worth the wait!

      How many miles should I look to get out of the stock springs

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Месяц назад +1

      Stock springs will maintain their original spring rate for anywhere between 50K and 250K miles. Depends on the weight on the bike and the roads traveled (smooth to bumpy) on how long they will last.
      Typical rider/passenger/luggage weight of under 500 lbs, and typical roads (no jumps or wheelies lol ) the springs will still be good at 150K miles.
      It is when you go over 500 lbs AND have a lot of big bumps, or off road riding that they can start losing their "spring" in under 150K miles.

    i bought and installed a set from DK Customs, a couple years ago. this is my review from their older install you tube post, . i have not ridden a bike with aftermarket front suspension, nor did i really want to spend the $1500 and hope it is that much better. this was a really good option. i also did not change the springs.
    Took the forks apart and installed the Intiminators. Relatively easy job, but it did take a buddy and I to put the fork cap back on considering we did it manually with out a press or vise. Once we had the first one figured the second one only took 15 minutes or so which included a beer while the fork drained upside down. Prior to the change I rode a route that included city driving, pavement cracks, bad asphalt, and a cloverleaf. I crossed a set of train tracks twice. I also braked fairly aggressively from 50 kmh to try and quantify the brake dive. After the change, I essentially rode the same path. From my seat of the ass study, I believe the bike dives less quickly than prior when braking. It also strikes me that braking with some dive and hitting an expansion joint is less “abrupt” after the change. The bounce over the tracks is hard to say since the whole bike moves anyway. During some of the shallower bumps on the city streets, it feels like the bike is more planted. Perhaps the rebound is more controlled. It also seemed that the bike tracked better during the relatively aggressive cloverleaf turns. All in all, I believe there is a difference; however, it doesn’t strike me as a nite and day difference like I had when I changed my ’89 and ’07 E-Glides from stock to progressive front springs and 412 rear shocks. Nor as significant as going from the ’07 to the ’19. But I believe there is a difference. As I said, it does feel more planted on the ground.
    Is it worth it? i am not exactly sure what i expected, but yes it is. the bike seems to hug the road better. i am not regretting the purchase at all
    Now a word about DK Customs. these are good folks to deal with. i first started down the path for this item due to this You Tube video. i had some questions that i sent by email directly to them. Dwayne got back to me with in 24 hours both times. the tag line on their email signature is " To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity." It looks like they live by this. really good folks to deal with

    I went with Legend front suspension on 18 freewheeler I bought 3 years ago and made huge difference in not having severe dive when braking. At that time I didn't know about your product but am very happy with legends

    I installed the Intimidators and progressive standard rate fork springs in my 2022 Road glide with 13” Bitubo shocks in the rear. Rides and Handles fantastic! Already had the springs, bought the rest from DK Customs.

    I have experienced the fork dive twice and it cost me as I came off at low speeds and it was embarrassing. Rear suspension was changed to screaming eagle Olin’s. What a difference road 5000ks in 14 days. However I came off again and at low speed for the second time. But it was not a drop I just stepped off the bike. I have just finished replacing my front suspension to the legends comfort range with a heavy weight oil. The SG ST has completed 800klms on straight and winding roads and what a difference it makes the bike is so much more comfortable and positive in corners. About 6000 Australian dollars is it worth it though I think it’s worth it for the rideable and the road here in Australia

    I watched your install video for baggers. Is it easier to install on a Road King?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Месяц назад +1

      It would be easier! Inatalling them on the Road King will be a lot like installing them on a Sportster, because you do not need to remove the fork tubes.

    Can you give install the Harley intimidator valves on the new 2024 Street Glide with conventional
    Forks. What part number and oil would you use

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Месяц назад

      Yes, the Intiminators will fit your 2024 Street Glide because you have 49mm forks with spring and damper rod.
      You can see the Intiminators at the link below. There is an option to add Fork Oil and we will send the correct 10wt fork oil for this install if you choose to add the fork oil - www.dkcustomproducts.com/improved-front-suspension-w-intiminator-fork-valves-for-harley-dk-ric-int-39.htm
      The install procedure for the Street Glide would be very similar to this install video on a 2020 Road Glide - ruclips.net/video/N_kHHGP6krU/видео.html

    Do I need to add the Intimidators if I replace the OEM cartridge and springs with Progressive Suspension fork kit with the FST damper?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Месяц назад

      If you are talking about replacing the cartridge with springs and damper rod on both sides, yes, you will feel a great improvement with handling and stability in curves with the Intiminators installed.

    Hi guys , The question I have is , I have a 2014 Harley Street glide, I weight 210 lbs. Would it be ok to put 15 wt. Oil or would I have to go with 10 wt. What's the worst that could go wrong?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  21 день назад +1

      If you put 15wt fork fluid, the valving in the Intiminator will not work correctly and you may as well not have them installed.
