    I wish you could option the R's carbon fiber wheels on the 350 model. Also the ability to not buy through horrible Ford dealers would make this amazing

      Believe it or not, that almost makes it a GT350R, the wheels cost $12k for a set, add another $1-2k for tires, and the wing is about $700, recolor some badges, etc. And you basically come up with the price difference, it's just not worth it bud, not unless you're actually gonna race it for money, in my opinion.

      No it's not. That's just Ford's bullshit mark up, you can get it at americanmuscle.com for $1k.

    i build these cars in flat rock and have to drive them around different parking lots sometimes too, and woo!! it really is repsonsive and fast, its dangerous in the wrong hands, but if you can drive cars like this, youre going to have a big grin on your face when you put the pedal to metal!

      That is too cool! A guy named Keith [illegible last name] and Phil Pregano built my engine. H3047.

    The Base GT is a bargain at 35k despite not being on the GT350 level.

      Absolutely.

      For a lot less than another $35k you can make a GT just as fast and corner as well. With how the Boss 302's dropped in cost, you might be able to pick up a GT350 in couple years for less than $40k. Just have to see how well the GT350 holds it''s value, esp with the GT500 coming out.

      True, but the reg GT V8 sounds pretty tough when piped. Throw a Borla or Corsa on it and it howls.

      last year of production is 2018 so I really doubt it will drop down to below 40k. If mileage is high than yeah

    I've heard Ford is only using the Voodoo engine in the GT350; do you know if there are plans to use the engine in other applications down the road?

      2112 Bangkok ford did copy the design of a Ferrari engine when designing the engine for the gt350, so maybe that’s why

    Good luck getting the R for only $8K more than the GT350 in the Seattle, WA area. They were selling the for $135K - unreal ADM fees added!

  • @revengefullobster4524
    @revengefullobster4524 7 лет назад +2

    I love this car, and was going to buy one, but good luck getting it below $70k from a dealer. Also there has been quite a few reports from owners that the non R versions have issues with the transmissions overheating and going into limp mode after more than 15 minutes at track speeds, and that Ford will not warranty damage done if they determine the car was tracked. Not good for a car that is marketed as "track ready." This is pretty typical for dealerships, so not really a complaint, but the trans cooler that is available on the R should be standard equipment if the problem hasn't been addressed already.

    • @MikeDPerkins
      @MikeDPerkins 7 лет назад +2

      I can tell you that the non-R versions that were being driven at the event I attended at Laguna Seca were definitely running for more than 15 mins at a time. Hours, in fact, and they never had any issues.

    • @revengefullobster4524
      @revengefullobster4524 7 лет назад +1

      It looks like the class action suit that was filed was for the 2016 models. Seems Ford learned from them and included the trans and dif coolers on the track package. Still, if you blow them up at the track, good luck getting warranty coverage, and if I bought one, it would definitely be at the track a lot. SO VERY TEMPTING...

      Thanks! I really don't want to slam such a beautiful car, esp if the issue has been addressed. So how was it at speed? Laguna Seca is one of those tracks I'd love to hit. One day perhaps!

      Stable and confidence inspiring, even through the corkscrew. Made the driver from Ford gasp a bit as I pushed through it much too hot, but the GT350 never even gave an indication that anything was wrong. I was impressed.

    Everyones going crazy over the Shelby GT350, and by all means its worth the praise. As a factory based product from Ford its a milestone. Now that said, Least people been living under a rock or who's classist snobbery behaviour has blinded them from the truth. Ford has been hitting homeruns for some time. And the mustang when properly tuned easily shut down those snub nose euro fanboys. The fact is a mustang on the level of the GT350 isnt new. well sorta. indeed the SHelby has alota first for any mustang. Its engine, its wheels, its looks and its suspension, makes it very special. But a Bare bones GT350 would have its hat handed to it but the likes of a Saleen another rare and special Mustang. We need not forget that despite Saleens ups and downs their product is something Ford themselves not to mention Roush copied. It was saleen with their mustang representing Ford and the US in endurance GT racing overseas long before Fords even GM's factory efforts. The tell tale racing dna, has been in Saleens since day one. so when people say Mustangs have never been like the Gt350, they simply havent been in the know. When people were all about drag racing, Saleens where all about the track. So yes indeed the GT350 is great. but its not entirely a new thing for mustang. not at all. and for those who doubt, let me pull up the achives from Motortrend way back in late 90's and see just who a mustang by saleen performed against the so called best. ruclips.net/video/D8wDAEXPbIY/видео.html

      You're claiming a '90s Saleen can run with a 2017 GT350?

  • @troypower4733

    Would be great if the R was selling for just $7500.00 more, LOL, not...

    • @MikeDPerkins
      @MikeDPerkins 7 лет назад +1

      GT350 MSRP = $56,145
      GT350R MSRP = $63,645
      Difference = $7500

    • @troypower4733
      @troypower4733 7 лет назад +3

      Correct, that is MSRP, now find a dealer that is selling one even remotely close to that. You are in the US, perhaps there are some close to MSRP, here they are all trying to get about 15 to $20K over it...

      I have been looking for a GT350 for a little while now your not going to touch a GT350R 2018 for less than $80,000 to $90,000 maybe one with a few miles on it for $75,000

    friendly criticism...the music doesnt match the reviewer's natural pace...the music has too much hype and pace. Your inflection requires a different musical choice. The reviewer's pace is calm, yeah, and that is perfectly ok. the music is distracting and makes his pauses seem labored. Kill the music..we want to hear the car anyway.

    • @MikeDPerkins

    This Mustang is really nice. But a 100k for the GT350R is way to much. The new ZL1 destroys it on any track and does it for a lot less.
