  • Hey you guys! So today I jumped behind the wheel of a 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 to find out what this V8 monster muscle car is all about. Some would call it a muscle car, some call it a sports car, but either way it sounds amazing, revs to 8,250 RPM, and makes just about every other Mustang look like an ancient relic. But can it capture the hearts of JDM fanboys around the world? Let's find out.

      Edward Razura-Perez brand loyalty is silly cause you're missing out on a lot of other vehicles that are nicer. only reason to be loyal to a certain brand is if you work for that particular manufacturer and it helps keep you in a job.

    I have to imagine they'll be around $38k in 10 years, so a roughly 25% depreciation, and only because I think through 2019, they'll do another "special" variant of the 2018+ updated mustang that will even improve upon the GT350s great chassis balance and likely outperform it in every way. What a time we're living in though. Truly a golden age for car enthusiasts.... as long as V8s and manuals are still being made.

      pelvicthrust119 --- Yes. I paid $7,500 over MSRP & I paid for the car in cash ($74k total). You would think I'd get some kind of break for paying cash but these dealers don't care. They know how much people want these cars & to be honest, i really didn't care. The car is so good I'd have paid more. If your thinking about getting one. I totally recommend it. It's an amazing vehicle you will enjoy the rest of your life.

    • @Djtonydraper
      @Djtonydraper 7 лет назад +1

      korizmo --- Wow! You got a great deal. That's awesome. I live in Florida & my Total MSRP came to exactly $60,545 before tax's/fees.. The dealership was also asking for an additional $7,500 which brings the cars total to $68,045. Add tax's & fee's & the OTD price comes to approx $74k. Had I paid sticker my total would have been closer to $65k OTD.

    The chassis and powertrain is conceptual towards track dominance. Staying in the throttle thru the turns and corners, mid and high range torque to launch out of the said turns and corners. True Cobra suspension to make it slither like a snake around the bends and tracks. Dragon of the sand. The Cobra.

    I enjoyed your review of the GT 350. It was informative without being repetitive (like most UTube reviews. I enjoyed the ride without being bored to death. Dude, you did good!

    • @rogermahajan7586
      @rogermahajan7586 7 лет назад +8

      Supra is 30 years old. No it does not come close. Supra could not turn even if the driver's life depended on it unless you completely switched out the suspension and added rigidity to the chassis. It understeered so badly. It was a sh*t handling car. Too nose heavy due to the cast iron 2JZ bolted to the nose.

      Roger Mahajan the supra is not 30 years old, the last year imported to the U.S was 1998, the last year in Japan was the 2002 version, any other examples that compare are, rx-7 fc or fd, any of the skylines, evos, subies. There's a lot more but that's the most common

    It's producing 500nm of torque from 2500rpm - which is quite a lot, sure, because the torque is still building until you get to 4500RPM, it might feel like it's "not making much torque down low" - but realistically it's going to destroy any shitty old 90's 5.0 all the way from 2500 to the redline.

    • @GlassTopRX7
      @GlassTopRX7 7 лет назад

      Kind of duh it's makes nearly twice as much HP throughout the rev range.

    • @Beer_Dad1975
      @Beer_Dad1975 7 лет назад

      Exactly, it is entirely perception due to the way the torque builds, not because it is actually lacking any torque at any point when you test it objectively on a dyno. He states near the beginning that he drove a 91' model with more "meaty torque down low" - which is actually producing a lot less torque at its absolute maximum than this produces at 2500RPM.

    Tell the owner of the car to takeoff the oil breather and put on oil air separator.
    High performance, high compression engines. With low tension rings experience oil blow by. Especially modular engines.

    The old formula for Mustangs power band from the 80's 5.0's upwards has always been big torque on the low revs, but its always been foolhearty because the torque curve dies our twice as fast as normal cars. Sure it felt great, but mustangs were plauged with short of breath performance due to that torque curve. the GT350 is perfect. why , because you dont need that low end torque at the super low speeds. its designed for the track, and you need power from mid revs on up. ALso casting all your torque at the bottom means you loose all your speed at the top. no legs. as such the GT350's power band is exactly where it needs to be, and pulls to the very end, something no stock mustang was geared to do.

    QUESTION: patrykkowalski6 /1 month ago / "wouldnt it be better to buy something cheaper and modify it or just maintanance it since most of you guys say old are better??"
    ANSWER: NOPE !! I have a 98 T/A WS6 with 480 at the wheel and it dynoed at 302 hp at the wheel (335 stock). The stock drive train was probably made with aluminum foil! I've had to have the 6-speed rebuilt within the first 12k miles. I had the clutch replaced twice with factory EOM parts within the 1st 12k miles. I updated the factory 7.5 rearend 3.43 gears twice with 4.10's. Broke both of them within 10k miles. Mods necessary for 480 RWB: Custom Heads from Georgia. Ported polished, bench floed. Vette C06 intake, updated injectors. Custom cam. Long-tube headers. Loud mouth cat back exhaust (sys #1). Elect cutouts. Off-road down pipes. EGR eliminated. Chassis and Frame braces by Hotchkis. McCloud sys #2 dual-disc clutch. Ford Moser 9-inch rear housing with Detroit Locker and 4.56 gears. '98 TransAm Dynoed 480 hp RWB with custom tune. Cost to obtain 480 RWB HP. in a '98 RamAir TransAm...WAY Too much! 2017 Shelby GT350 COMPLETELY STOCK dynoed 460 actual hp (advertised as 526 hp). Which cost the most, the custom 480 hp from 1998 or the factory stock 460 hp from a 2017? Which is the easiest to street drive/race?

    So let me get this straight. You would buy this for 60k plus and shit on a 86 because it has 151 lb ft of torque yet for half the money of a GT350 you can have a 300whp 86 that weighs 2800 lbs vs this 3800 lb leviathan? I would take lightweight and power plus save a ton of cash.

    • @subnegro9173
      @subnegro9173 7 лет назад

      Old Greg you must be on some kind of drugs right? The 86 has the advantage of being over 1000 lbs lighter with a engine that sits much lower in the chassis than any Mustang period. You don't need 100k or more in suspension upgrades to make a well balance lightweight car handle even better. And it's ironic that you used "Cars and Coffee crowd" considering you're defending a Mustang which is a superstar at its owners moving people over. The main reason these cars handle so well is because the advancement in techy suspension and top grade rubber. If you apply the same thing to a much lighter and lower CoG car it still has the advantage!

  • @hwyfools
    @hwyfools 7 лет назад

    Didn't get to drive one but did get to sit in one today. Beautiful car but side seat bolsters are to small "tight" for me 6'-1" 225lb. Wish it had the M3 side bolster adjustment.
    For the track it would work out but uncomfortable for Street use. No doubt awesome car just make sure you fit. The new Supra is coming but BMW motor? I don't know.
    2018 Second Quarter the GT500 is coming and it's a good time for car enthusiasts.

    I come from a heavy Japanese history myself. As I've gotten older, I've moved to German cars, that said, I've almost traded in my rs5 for a gt350r a few times...

      @daltonv5206 7 лет назад +1

      hmong azn son Japan isn't making sports cars because modern American muscle cars beat them at their own game. that's why the z and s2k are dead. Nissan and Honda need to get their heads on straight and go back to their roots

    • @Silenced_by_nazi_youtube
      @Silenced_by_nazi_youtube 7 лет назад +1

      Dalton v honda sucked balls ever since the early 2000s, they can make a 500hp civic si and it would not appeal to me, nissan is atleast still trying, subaru also but i dont think theyre trying to compete. they need to turbocharge the slow ass frs/brz. imports were hot back in the 90s and very early 2000s then they just died. any good performance car they come out with now will cost you twice a shelby gt350

    This is the best Mustang ever made period. It's not even a mustang that's how good it is. I call it a GT350. I don't add Ford or Mustang into it's name personally. It's that good that it jumps away from the brand. I don't think the GT500 will be better than this car it won't be Naturally Aspirated and It won't sound as good.
