- Hi there!
In this video we have a 2008 Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 that is overheating from low coolant. Here is how I fixed it.
Thanks for watching! Авто/Мото
No stupid unnecessary time-lapse at the important parts and actually shows and tells you what to do..EXCELLENT video sir! Thank you for the help!! 👍👍
Thanks to Uncle Carl! Great video and Kyle will be all set in his car now!!
Well done Car, your nephew could learn a great deal from your vast and varied mechanical skills.
ICU2 Kyle has no interest in anything mechanical LOL. It's all good don't mind helping out family.
Up up_y
Mines of the dealer right now and im getting the thermostat replaced glad I’m getting it replaced before it started overheating
Excellent video and procedure.
Very helpful! Thank you.

Exactly what I was lookingh for...thanks a million! I have a 2007 and EXACTLY the same symptoms. Let ya know after the weekend how the fix went:)

gracias amigo desde centro america
Nice work 👏
That was interesting! Great job Carl!!
Rick Anderson thanks Rick
Thanks for a very good video
I wonder why the coolant in my explorer 2007 flows from radiator to surge tank and never flow back.
Man nice video. Mine has the same problem. 2007 V6 sport trac. Other than than that, it runs great. Let me buy you a beer 🍻. Cheers and thank you.
Hello broncocarl it has been one of the best and easy explanation I ever seen I have a 2010 and is leaking from the back of the thermostat housing you think it could joust the bottom hose!,, I enjoy yorvideo thanks a lot
well done carl, hope you are going to change the burned-up oil
Thank you, it looks like I have a coolant leak I didn’t pressure test it yet, but after watching this video I think it is the thermostat housing because of all of the crud that I see around it. I will test it to see if it is that exactly,But I’m wondering if I still have to replace the water pump
Great video sir
Thank u
My belt makes a small chirping noise just about when it reaches temp and after about 30 minutes of driving it will go away. My thermostat housing is clearly leaking from almost every seam. the hoses look like they're in decent shape. Hoping when I change the housing this solves the noise. Looks like my water pump has been changed recently its nice and clean looking. I don't plan on doing a full radiator drain just enough so the housing doesn't spill coolant everywhere. Would I fill the radiator or the over flow first? after replacing the thermostat to replace the coolant I drained.
Do you only do videos for Ford? I’ve got a 2008 needing both rear wheel bearings replaced. I’ve bought as much as I’ve done on other rear wheel bearings. This 4x4 Tundra has some odd engineering. Where can I find all the parts for this rear wheel bearing replacement? Also being from Indiana the brake dust shields are rusted and have wholes in them, I don’t want to pay $300 for each shield. Thanks for the help.
I have a question can i use a cylinder head fron 2009 on 2001
With engine running, is the coolant supposed to see recirculating inside the deposit?
Saw now how to bleed radiator thanks
Did you have to bleed the air out, if so how did you do it?
not to be picky but wasn't that fan clutch normal thread ? u were turning it to the left , lefty loosey righty tighty :) ?
tim morris man shut up
No fan cluthes are backward thread.
I have 2007. I replaced t stat couple months ago. And fix the problem. But now is over heating when I’m on park or ac on.
Water on radiator and tank ? Could that be the water pump?
Sounds like fan clutch is not working
Broncocarl92 fan running and replace that already? But will double check it
@@perez9444 If the cooling improves once the vehicle is in motion tells me fan not pulling enough air past radiator.
Well just drove it around the street going 40-45. And still heating up.
Who is the manufacturer for the 36mm wrench you're using? I have used a few that were real cheap quality and I am looking to buy a quality wrench for my Fords. Thanks in advance.
It's part of the "diesel service set" for Cummins engines from Snap On tools. It's a Blue-Point SP346.
Thanks for watching
Broncocarl92 thank you so much. Great video by the way.
no problem, thanks again for the comment
is it a 32 mm fan clutch wrench or a 36 when you was working on the car you said 32 but at the end you said a 36
It's a 36
Thanks
My father has the same vehicle ...
the problem is that the fan starts making heavy whirring sounds when the accelerator is pressed and the car also heats up... please note that the complete A/C system of the car was changed...
What could be the problem? Is it the fan clutch or the thermostat?
Ibrahim Muhammad if the thermostat doesn't open then you would have overheating and the fan noise.
Broncocarl92 should the thermostat be checked first?
yes
I just had the same problem on a 2008 Explorer xlt, I just replaced the electric fan clutch, no more heavy whirring sound and no more temperature spiking
Cant remove the fan clutch I tried tapping the tool pushing left no luck
stay true you might have to hit it a little harder.
Is this the same as my Chevy camaro ? 6.2 liter four tailpipes
no this is a Ford
Broncocarl92 I’m not even sure if mine has that pump. It has antifreeze reservoir tank.
@@hellonwheels9149 No it's not the same Ford and Chevy are different manufacturers
