Awesome video, Jim! I stand behind Street Fighter: The Movie The Game too! People have been too quick to judge it. It's super fun to play with some friends!
I believe it's intentional for players outside of Japan, not a bug. I actually enjoy playing the US version more because the Japanese AI is too easy once you get used to the game, note that I'm not a pro player, I just like playing this game from time to time.
I lived in a major city so was able to play in the arcade but my first home experience was on the PC (MS-DOS!) in 1995... also has the arranged CD music that made the FM-Towns and 3DO ports so unique
funny enough my dad had bought a 3DO so that was probably our first taste of ST at home! even found one of those 'soldier pad' controllers which made playing it so much easier. most recently I picked up the Dreamcast's 'for matching service' version (actually it was part of a repro disc with a bunch of other games, including puzzle fighter which turns out my wife is quite fond of! but I digress) as for SF The Movie I was just telling my wife yeah it wasn't great, but honestly Raul Julia makes up for it with an incredible performance as M. Bison! the anime one is definitely better though. (definitely have to track down that uncut version of the re-release on DVD!)
Lol, DSP. There was one cash & carry on a main road near me that randomly had SSFII, but it was £1 a credit (other games were 3 credits for £1 at the time), so I couldn't play it as much as I would have liked.
Super Turbo on the 3DO was the best home console version. I picked up an FZ-1 with a bunch of games for cheap during college (circa 2007) and still have it hooked up in my man-cave. When friends are over, I bust out Super Turbo and it's still a blast to play. P.S. The Capcom Soldier Pads are a must to play Super Turbo on the 3DO.
Being a regular SSF2T online player via Fightcade for a few years I can definitely say this, or any Street Fighter for that matter is a perfect fighting game, maybe SFIII could be possibly the best, but I doubt it. 2T suffers from horrible character balance, some match ups are ridiculously favorable to a few characters, some to the point of 9 to 1. Yes, it's the most balanced SF2 game, but still, KOF94 is a much better game in this regard, for instance. While 2T has great visuals, gameplay and I enjoy it quite a lot, saying it's perfect isn't right. SF2CE is possibly the most nostalgic overall, but wow, is this game almost broken, specially today that people know basically all its tricks. Wow, this SF2 Movie (ala MK) game hurts my eyes and drains my soul, any MK game is miles better than this any day. Even Capcom pretends it never existed. Not wanting to sound too critical, but why is the game footage stretched?
I wish there was a difficulty setting for people who aren't good at the game. Even at the lowest difficulty, I get destroyed every time. Not sure how I'm supposed to learn
It was actually Sony Pictures that hit me, but they already retracted the claim. LDS did put a claim on my animated movie video too though. I made a video about it years ago and it was suddenly hit with a claim a few days ago.
@@MadPanicGaming spent more time with 2 as it came at the right time to consoles. I am lucky to own 3 on saturn as I took an early decision to support the 6 button pad, against the tide of dream cast adopters at the time.
Ah yes, in 1994... Was a junior in highschool living in the Bay Area, had plenty of access to this game back in the day!
I was only 8 years old myself, but already pretty formidable at SF2, at least on console anyway. The nearest arcade was a day trip away.
Back in the mid 90s I got SF Collection for PS1 sealed brand new at a Swapmeet and glad I pulled the trigger.
I will forever be thankful for being able to see Raul Julia doing far more than anyone asked him to or the film deserved.
Of course!

It's worth playing just for the ost.
It also took 30 years for a hacker to fix the insane difficulty bug in the Super Street Fighter II Turbo rom.
Wasn't that only in the US version?
@@julianocs87 it was every region accept Japan.
It wasn't really a bug tbh.
@@StudentWitch88 are you saying Capcom intentionally did this so arcade operators can milk more money from their customers?!?!

Great video. I can really only play this game on a genesis 6 button controller.
A great version for sure, but I'd argue that for six button action, the Saturn port is where it's at.
Also, the arcade port of super turbo got ported with the others for modern consoles under "street fighter 30 anniversary"
Right, got Hyper SF2 on the Switch as part of the fighting collection. Good port as well, showed a bit of it in the vid.
I still love the music of the Hong Kong stage. Gets me every time 😄😄😄
The whole soundtrack is pure gold.

Interesting, I've never played that port.
I love Street Fighter, but King of Fighters is the GOAT for me personally.
I became a KOF fan later, but nothing could beat SF Alpha 3 for me, except maybe Tekken 5.
@@MadPanicGaming Tekken 5 is my favorite arcade game of all times dude.

Yes! The version with all the swearing.
Nice video mate. I have some good memories playing this game
Much appreciated. Thanks for watching!
Totally disagree, the best thing in 1994 with Street fighter, was the Jackie Chan movie City Hunter
Well, that goes without saying.
Great video man. Editing at its finest.
Much appreciated. Thanks for watching!
Lol I remember playing the arcade game version of the street fighter movie at an old pizza joint 😂💯🔥🇺🇲💪
Oddly enough I didn't have a chance to play it until moving to Japan, found it at an arcade in Akihabara. A fun game actually, but super janky.
I've played this only in early 2000, in PS1. Almost no one of my friends knew this. Even no arcades here had this game. Love the HD remix.

I remember celebrating the 20th year anniversary because Akuma is king
He is indeed.
Street Fighter is a good series!

Damn, that is steep for one credit. And here I was bitching about 100 yen for one credit lol.
Considering this was 1994, very steep.
I'll let cartoon Bison comment for me "This is delicious!"
The man knows quality work.

I saw both the Japanese and English versions of Street Fighter the Animated Movie.
Ultra Street Fighter 2 is my favourite version. Followed by the Japanese Super Turbo and Hyper.
Super Street Fighter II Turbo”s release in the arcades may have been monumental, but for me it was Tuesday. 😂
I wish there was a difficulty setting for people who aren't good at the game. Even at the lowest difficulty, I get destroyed every time. Not sure how I'm supposed to learn
I just wish the western version didn’t have the difficulty turned up to 11!
Lol, yeah that would've been nice too. I suppose the expectation was that people would mostly want to play competitively against one another.
Yeah! I’ve heard the argument that it was a version for “expert players”… glad I got a Japanese Street Fighter Collection
*this is great and Anniversary Stank I'm afraid hated it but love 3rd Strike!* ⭐️
What about the Chun-Li movie?
I dare not speak its name.
The Us arcade version has insane difficulty . #Brutal
Another great one Jim.
Much appreciated. Thanks for watching!
I play only the Snes awful ports and hated sf2 game.
We just got a block from some company called LDS on Street Fighter the animated movie no idea who they are. Capcom is the owner.
It was actually Sony Pictures that hit me, but they already retracted the claim. LDS did put a claim on my animated movie video too though. I made a video about it years ago and it was suddenly hit with a claim a few days ago.
they should make a new street fighter movie

Same. Alpha 3 is my all-time favorite fighter.
