Maestro Igor Krutoy and Dimash Qudaibergen have created the really unique song in English with enchanting oriental melodies. “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Igor Krutoy, music titan in Russia (billionaire) and a famous composer who came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018 and have a father-son relationship.
And Dimash said also in an interview about th e collaboration with Igor Krutoy that it is important to him that the songs are written in such a way that there is room for variations ... so every performance of a song is a surprise and every Dear can choose his favorite presentation... I can not decide.
The lyrics were written by Mary Sharon Vaughn (*1947, American musician, songwriter and producer. She writes hits for famous singers around the world)

On August 19, 2021, for the first time the sound of kobyz was heard on the stage of the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park.
Here is playing the best Kobys player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbeck.
This bowl-neck lute played with a bow is is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz variant, for example, is called the kyl-kyyak.
The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and, according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of Central Asia and became the prototype of all European string instruments.
(Turkic means: The Turkic peoples are a collection of ethnic groups from Central, East, North and West Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa who speak Turkic languages.)
A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe narrator Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. In addition, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music.
The old outlook and piety towards their instruments and music was constantly preserved in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing the Kobyz.

In the Philippines just about anywhere you go you will see or hear something you've never heard before. The same with Dimash wait two seconds and he'll hit a note not known to man.

Hello , this is an epic song, and performance by Dimash. Our Dimash now has a 7 octave vocal range. That last note held her for 20 seconds. Dimash can walk through his entire vocal range in this song. He is perfect .

Dimash is really amazing. Since I started to listen to him, unfortunately now I compare everybody to him. And he's in another level. Above, of course. He's a complete artist, incredible vocal range, perfect breath control, he knows using folk elements, great stage presenc, he knows how to tell a whole story during the performance even we don't understand the lyrics. Great idea indeed. I cannot imagine this masterpiece without the kobyz. It would loose the spice. Dimash is not only a fenomenal singer but obviously a great musician in general.
Dimash has something that goes even beyond music, beyond culture or nationality, beyond history, DIMASH QUDAIBERGEN is timeless, I don't even know how to express it but I feel that this man comes from the eternal and God is the only one who knows it, I don't think that the person we see singing even knows it. His body is only the container, the essence is of someone who has already transcended space and time.

" Ikanaide" - sung in Japanese in Dec at the 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival - is a Master Class for all singers. It's a live studio performance. FYI, I've heard him say in an interview that he's had martial arts training (Brown Belt?) and uses it in the video for "Be With Me."

So apparently the Qobyz is said to be the FIRST stringed instrument & as such the great grandfather of the violin… the Qobyz is actually a seriously complex instrument as many of the sounds (can imitate wild animals & was a sacred instrument used by shamans) - many of the sounds you make with your fingers in between & all around the strings as well as the bow
The musician is not actually pressing the strings against a fingerboard; they are completely elevated above the neck of the instrument. He is instead sliding his fingers up and down on the strings (between and around) as he bows.

I guarantee Dimash could sing anything and cover anyone he wants to ! But has his own magical performances suited to him alone with the arrangements being done more and more by the great Igor Krutoy ! I've noticed the same; The Bruce Lee of music. He even looks like him. His highest ever reached in a concert by an artist so far, s a D8, sustained with vibrato for around 10 seconds. As far as I know, he has a black belt in taekwondo. If I was wrong, please correct me.

I love looking at your faces and your comments amuse me a lot! Yes, there is no choice but to admit that this boy does wonders with his voice. I loved the song, we all have ancestors who emigrated, in my case Irish come to América and that introduction with the candles evokes me that has a Celtic air. Wonderful oriental instruments that unite us with other cultures, this song is very moving, it was released just when so many people fled Afghanistan looking for a land of freedom ... Dimash is no 'One-trick pony', he has something for everyone from opera/ pop /rock /folk /jazz / rap etc ... such a multi talented and beautiful young man, always humble and thankful to his fans, please do more reactions for us Dears, every performance is different between his live vs Digital shows
And guys, please stop comparing him to others, Dimash is a once in a generation talent, he sings /acts/writes/composes on top of his amazing vocals
An amazing voice possibly the greatest male vocalist alive in the world today, so effortless. He is also great friends with Daneliya Tuleshova (both from Kazakhstan) There is a great video of Dimash picking her up for a big hug. He actually dropped out of the "Worlds Best" to give the younger artists a fair chance in that competition.
Dimash has a brown belt in taekwuando. So he probably knows some moves...😉

Introduction to the history of Qazaqhstan
In the library of the outstanding Renaissance poet Francesco Petrarca, among the folios in expensive leather bindings, there was a modest book - "The CodexKumanikus", which means "The Book of the Kypchaks". Now the only copy of this book, donated by Petrarch to the Venetian library in 1362, is kept in the Cathedral of St. Mark in Venice.
Codex Cumanicus (Latin Codex Cumanicus, Dictionary of the Kypchak language) is a well-known written source of the Kuman (Starokypchak) language of the early 14th century. The full title of the manuscript is: "Alfabetum Persicum, Comanicum еt Latinum Anonymi scriptum Anno 1303. Die 11 Julii."
The book was created in the XIII century in the Crimea, in the city of Solkhat - as European travelers arrived there by sea, and then moved to the east in the center of the Golden Horde, towards its capital - the city of Saraishyk, which is located on the territory of modern Kazakhstan. And by it one can judge what the Kypchaks were like. The Kypchak language - the progenitor of a part of the modern Turkic languages - was spoken more than 700 years ago by everyone who lived in the territory from Altai to the Danube. Travelers from Europe going to Asian countries considered the use of the Cuman (Kypchak) language as an international one. Without knowing the Kypchak language, it was impossible to communicate in the vast Eurasian space. In other words, in those days it performs the same functions as in our time English, Chinese, Russian and other world languages.
In the 19th and 20th centuries, the Codex Cumanicus was translated into three languages: in 1880 into Latin, in 1884 into German, and in 1928 into French. The manuscript was first translated into Russian in 1972.
"CodexKumanikus" is the oldest example of steppe publishing, consisting of two parts.
The first part of the "Codex Kumanikus" - dictionaries: Latin-Persian-Kypchak and Kypchak-German. Their need was due to economic reasons. They covered everyday life and terminology in religion, astronomy, military, perfumery, shoemaking and carpentry, public service, etc. They contained the names of many professions characteristic of a large city, from the merchant to the barber; lists of fabrics, precious stones, metals, clothing, and other goods traded on the Great Silk Road. The manuscript contains 1300 words and gives the grammar of the Cuman (Kypchak) language.
The second part is a collection of various religious texts (Bible fragments, sermons, aphorisms, religious instructions, prayers, etc.) and riddles.
The "Codex" contains 47 Kypchak riddles.

The book also contained a piece of music known as the Kypshak Hymn. It was written in an old musical notation - a square musical notation using four note lines. British composer Sir Karl Jenkins revived this Kypshak song and based on it, commissioned by Nazarbayev, he created the anthem Shine, Astana. This piece was first performed in 2018 at the Astana Opera for the 550 Anniversary of the Qazaq Khanstan - the first Qazaq state (1460-s).
Perhaps you will hear something very familiar in this music. And you will understand where Dimash's style of performance comes from.
SamalTau, Qairan Elim, Durdaraz, Stranger, Olimpico - in these songs you can feel the style of traditional qazaq music and instruments.

Legend of Korkyt-Ata
He came from the Syrdarya steppes and lived in the VIII-IX centuries. On the Syrdarya, in the Karmaksha district of the Qyzylorda (Red Orda/Horde) region, there is a probable burial place of Korkyt.
Some believe that before the birth of Korkyt, an eclipse of the sun occurred, thunder rumbled and a storm began. The child who frightened the steppe was nicknamed Korkyt, which means "scare". Throughout his life, he searched for the key to immortality. But wherever his foot went, Korkyt was faced with symbols of imminent death.
On his camel Zhel Maya Korkyt traveled all over the Earth, but nowhere could he hide from the grave prepared for him. And only music could stop time and even death itself.
So, from the shirgai tree Korkyt created a musical instrument with strings stretched over it, wrapped in camel skin - the first Qobyz on which he poured out his thoughts and feelings. Only falling asleep and involuntarily stopping playing, Korkyt ata went to another world.
About twenty works of Korkyt ata have survived to this day, about 12 kyuis are written in notes, some have several versions. Each of them has its own special creation story. The most famous among them are "Tengri kyuy", "Korkyt kyuy", "Elim-ai, khalkym-ai" (My people), "Elmen koshtasu" (Farewell to the homeland).
