The great Freddie Mercury sang this song in a way that no one can sing. But some modern artists sing songs of the Queen. I heard a cover by Celine Dion. She sang, as always, well, but my heart did not flinch. To sing the songs of the Queen, you need to have courage and self-confidence. Dimash did not copy or imitate Freddy. Dimash made his own personal version. I've been listening to Dimash for almost two years. One day I was met by a comment from a viewer who tried to explain why Dimash sang this song this way: - FIRST CUPLET means Freddie's childhood in India. There everything was quiet and tender, and the show was in dreams, in the distant future. Here Dimash sings softly and beautifully. - SECOND CUPLET marks the beginning of Freddy's career, the conquest of fame and popularity and, finally, the world fame came to him. Here Dimash sings in full voice. It surprises us with a change of several ranges. And makes it easy. - THE SONG means that Freddy tells everyone that if he leaves, "the show must go on". Dimash 'doesn't talk', Dimash shouts that "the show must go on!!!". And, of course, we hear the final D6 and fly into space. //////////////// I think Freddie would have liked the way Dimash sang. It was extremely brave for Dimash to sing a Queen song without knowing English.
Dimash isn’t one of those artists you can get and fully appreciate in just a couple of songs. His repertoire crosses many genres and types of music. Try Sinful Passion next. Jump down the rabbit hole 🕳 and I’ll go with ya. New sub
I agree, one should see more to understand what he is about. Just for a change, I'd recommend some of his more emotional songs to show that he is not only about range and vocal skills. He is a wonderful storyteller and expresses emotions so well. Maybe 'Autumn strong' from Singer competition? It was the next song after 'Show must go on'. Preferably with backstory, but at least with subs.
You still haven't heard anything yet; he still shocks his fans even every performance is different; when you think you know DIMASH, he does something you again can not believe your ears are hearing. 2 down and only about 158 more reactions to go. But, man what a journey awaits you if you continue with DIMASH.

When you consider the fact he only spoke a couple words of English when he sang this makes this even more amazing If any journey is worth taking this is it 2 years a Dear and still shocks me
For me it is 4 years and still shocked by DIMASH; listen to him daily all that time too. No one else can sing to my soul like DIMASH does. SOS and Love is Like a Dream were my favorite songs before I ever heard DIMASH, and before he was born (on both songs I think). But I heard him sing SOS and I was shocked to my core, and instantly had to hear him all the time, then he did Love is Like a Dream and I about lost my mind; his versions were the best for me.
I thought no one could do either song as well as the originals, but man was I ever wrong.
Dimash makes a cover song his own..... His English has improved........ He can rock 😆

Freddy was all about exploring musical possibilities of all genres of music and mixing all elements of each together; DIMASH was heavily influenced by him as he also crosses genres and mixes them also in one song. They are the only two singers I have heard that did that to excellence.

This is from I am singer, a competition for Chinese singers where Dimash was invited as a wild card. His performance of SOS started the show. This was his third performance in the competition, second was Opera 2. Please use his RUclips channel or Gloria Wu`s channel. She has done translations to these videos.
I love Queen and Dimash got me on that one. He started one octave down and went all the way up until he became a human (?) Red Special. I was on the edge of my seat. He surprised me when he sung the 1st chorus with a falsetto and then was brave enough to bring some operatic voice (Freddie would love it) into the 2nd one. Bravo!
People will obviously ask you to follow a chronological list of songs, but I want to suggest a few of a more mature Dimash: Your love (with amazing key changes), Across Endless Dimensions (a movie main theme - watch the last version on his channel - he sung it live and it looks like he's under the sea) and two more recent pop-ish songs (also sung in English), both his own, both great music videos, Screaming and Be With Me.
Another great song (in Russian) with great vocal variation is Sinful Passion.

Dimash is an amazing singer. It’s more than his range, which is already spectacular, it’s his technique. That’s why a lot of people mention he’s like 4 singers in one. He uses classical technique, folkloric, pop, rock, middle-East... As I mentioned in a previous comment, it’s a gift and a curse because his audience becomes demanding and expects those vocal acrobatics every time he sings. This performance was from a competitive show so he was out to wow everyone. I think the best has yet to come as far as his art. Great reaction. Thanks. 🤗
It's long overdue for Dimash to be known widely in the UK. The best way to learn about him is to follow his journey on the Chinese show The Singer to now. He is the best out there.

Hi, thankyou for reacting to Dimash. I am an Italian Dear (name that Dimash gave to his fan) welcome to Dimash World. I guess you will no longer be able to leave it as we do. His voice is a drug you will become addicted to. It is a wonderful disease, we Dears do not want to heal. If you keep reacting to Dimash you will find that he sings POP, JAZZ, OPERA, RAP, R&B and more. He is born in Kazakhstan in 1994, he has 6 octaves and a bunch of semitones. He sings from Baritone to Soprano and whistle register. He has a degree in all the aforementioned genres and the last degree he received is in composition. He has been attending the stage since he was 5 and at 6 he won first prize playing the piano. He plays 7 instruments, including piano, guitar, drums, dombra, xylophone and more. He sang in 12 languages but speaks 3. Thanks to his perfectionist character, when he sings in languages he does not know, he learns the meaning sentence by sentence in order to give the right intensity and always manages to move the audience even up to cry. He always sings live and every time he sings the same song it is never the same but always a masterpiece. This was the show called I am a Singer in Bejing. He was an invited guest to this show, took 2nd place in the completion of all professional Chinese singers, he was the only non Chinese person there.
This was performed about four years ago....if you continue to react to Dimash then you have a real treat in store. I've been watching Dimash's videos now for a year and he always surprises me with each performance. I'm 70 years old and I've listened to a lot of really good singers over the years, but no offence to Freddy, Dimash is the best I've ever heard or seen. He is truly a once in a lifetime performer.

This was in Singer 2017 He was either 22 or 23. Another fun one was ALL BY MYSELF. It was done in English, which he is just learning so please allow for that. On Singer 2017 he was learning both English and Mandarin. He said Mandarin is very difficult. He is really learning English and singing a lot of new songs in English because as soon as COVID permits, he is coming to the US for two years to study. Dimash is ALWAYS learning. Right now he is going for his Doctorate in Composition. He aced his Masters. ALL BY MYSELF is important to watch on Singer 2017 because he carries it on to a lot of his concerts, Watching the original sets you up for the little changes you will see later.

Dimash understands the importance of conveying the real story of music through performance. His total commitment to the story in appearance, dress, body language, and emotion is like a mini-opera. Or a Popera if you like. His intense operatic, blues, jazz, folk, world, and pop music training are all elements within the story. Every performance is a work of art.

Amazing performance. Dimash spoke very little English and learnt the song phonetically. He was only 22 yrs old here and ended up placing second on this show. He turned 27 in May this year.

Dimash is getting better every day, his talent is amazing and if you follow his journey you will be in awe. What I like the most of Dimash is that he puts always his own seal in any song, a cover or his own compositions, he is not trying to imitate anybody because he is a genuine and raw artist and musician. I love this ( I grew with Queen and adored Freddie ) Dimash put his own unique arrangement on this and even Brian May congratulated him on this performance, thanks for showing this. It's diabolical that he's not widely known in the west but I guess that one reason is because he refuses to kowtow to money grubbing commercial record companies as he wants to do his own thing

This is a talent show in china called "the singer" it can only be professional singers who are famous. He ends up coming 2nd overall. His songs sos, opera 2, adagio he comes 1st in these rounds. Other rounds he comes 4th or 5th. Because the judges are the 500 musical audience. And they are fans of the other people as it is a chinese show and hes a wild card from Kazakhstan who no one had heard of
People will say sinful passion next as it is amazing however it is in 2018 and you should actually listen to opera 2, adagio, autumn strong, at least before moving onto 2018 stuff.
2018 he is a guest appearance on the show the singer and he sings hello from lionel richie. His english is better than it was in 2017.
Also to note is he can sing in 13 languages but can speak 2 (kazakh and russian) and 2 more (mandarin and english) he is learning.
He can play 6 instruments and you should probably do some research about is family on wiki. His mother and father are pretty famous in Kazakhstan.

Yesterday, he launched his first vlog where he answered whoever came on his livestream, in Kazakh, Russian, and English. That’s massive improvement! He has a cute Kazakh accent, when he speaks English, like a heavy “h”, for example. Examples of his latest work in English: Across Endless Dimensions (movie theme song) and Be with Me (music video). Two totally different styles.
