Where did Elvis depart for after his emotional press conference at the Brooklyn docks?

Elvis Presley, a 23-year-old rock star, is serving in the US Army at Fort Hood, Texas. He is struggling with the challenges of military life, feeling homesick and worried about his career. After a visit from his friend Eddie Fadal, Elvis's spirits lift, and he begins to focus on his music again. However, his world is turned upside down when his mother, Gladys, falls ill and passes away. Elvis is devastated, and his grief is compounded by the pressure to continue his music career.
