Watching Elvis again in 2024 ,no one comes close to the magic of Elvis, the others are so far behind him they don't even make the top ten, he is even today simply the best, thanks Elvis.
Thank you for putting your comments so directly and correctly. ive been brought up on Elvis .stevie wonder and Tom Jones All geniuses of iconic legends.... Love this clip.
I am definitely a life long fan. I was only 7 in 1968, but being able to watch parts of the 68 comeback special now that I am 63 he most definitely took his crown back as the king of rock and roll that one famous night long ago. I will always love Elvis as the person he was and the entertainer he was. He gave his all to the world. I was 16 when he passed. As far back as I can remember he has been a big part of my life. He will be till the day I too part from this earthly world.
I grew up loving Elvis's beautiful songs of Cant Help Falling in Love With you at the age of 4 in 1961 and Love Me Tender and from that time on Elvis has been the greatest Entertainer Ever in the whole world. Im 67 yrs old now and I still love all his movies and listen to music everyday going to work and coming home. He will forever be in my heart and mind. His music puts me in a good mood and relieves my stress. ❤❤❤❤
When I accidentally saw the 68 special. I was totally SHOCK at how perfect he was. That leather outfit. His whole demeanor. The whole show was pure RAW Elvis. I was hopelessly mesmerized by him. Best Elvis show ever.
Elvis ressurected from his lost image he had since the 1950s in the first years of his career. He was the only one artist who dared take serious risks while sweeping off the odds which the British Invasion would have created in the mid-sixties.The 1968 ELVIS COMEBACK SPECIAL was the opening gate to something or someone(Elvis) to be the unique and personal adoption for not only American fans but in a global perspective !
Congratulations! the video says it all. The comeback special was really an extraordinary turning point in Elvis career. He made a wonderful job and came back for good in a triumphal way.
The Comeback 68 special was indeed a turning point in Elvis's career so much so his popularity was returned worldwide, but the pressure of show business had its perils and caused the demise of the King he had simply overdone it against his own health, years later he in spirit remains the King never will there another ELVIS, his music and legendary moves will live on forever.
It made him a huge star again. I was so excited that he was current again a way from his movies that had become so boring. The 68 special made you realize how wonderful he was. Hot and sexy once again. Yummy 🌟🌟🌟
❤ Elvis Presley on the comeback 68 works great I watched it on TV and loved it. He made a comeback but no one else can and he continued that on stage wherever he went thank you Elvis Presley for doing so you are always famous don't let anyone kid you took life in your own hands and said okay here we go ❤❤❤ Elvis Presley made his comeback the greatest until thank you very much
I am a life long fan who did get to see in 2 concerts. the 68 comback show should the world what an entertainer he was. He did everything so perfect, I wish I could have been there that night.
This was the best special that he had ever done .he looked his best.and sounded his best.. I was 8 years old when I Saw this special on tv . this was the closest thing to the way he was in the 50tys 👍
The behind the scene story from producer Steve Binder was absolutely Priceless!!! How they had to fight every step to make it happen the way it was. Including they had another producer to play Poker with Col Parker with real money just to keep him away. The audience around the square platform was another miracle because col Parker failed to even produce one. They had to grab whoever they could to fill the seats. Yet the audiences were perfect! Hope they would make a movie of it.
I remember watching it as a 9 year old. The 68 comeback was out of this world. I begged my mother to let me watch it since it was on past my bedtime. The special was so great and so personal that the energy pulled you in and just like that he was forever "The King of Rock and Roll".
I am a lifelong Elvis fan I still love his music. The 1968 concert was amazing wow that image in that leather suit OMG...however he was dictated to by his manager but he did go against what his manager wanted on this concert otheriwise that concert would have been a disaster so good for him he relaunched himself in the early 70's and into the Vegas era but again his manager did the dirty on him he should have ditched him. He never liied being called the King he always said there is only one King .... God... however God put him on this earth for a reason so he deserves to wear the crown 👑💖
A Hugh thanks to Steve Benner! He was the main force for this unusual success. Especially his fight with NBC and the stupid Col Parker. Thanks again, Steve

Elvis Presley never did decline we have all been through that in our life change Elvis Presley was a human being just like everybody else Elvis Presley now I've been with them ever since around 1957 they had a contestho was better Elvis Presley or the Beatles and Elvis Presley came first I don't know who you've been talking to but you've been talking to the wrong people Elvis never died ever since he started correct where you took off contest and who was better trust me when he came back out and all in 1968 he's ever died he was good thank you Elvis Presley thank you thank you thank you TCB ❤🎉😊
I’m a big fan of Elvis, and love all of Elvis’ songs. Two of my favorite movies were Flaming Star and Charo, but even though others may not agree with me, Flaming Star I consider is one of his better and best movies, it showed his acting skills more than the others….The others he was stereotyped. I know he wanted to do more serious films, but they wouldn’t let him. He did a marvelous job with his character Pacer, something which others don’t see, but I do, he put his heart into it, just like actors before him did, and I know he wanted to do more of them, but as someone said here, he was being kept away from it for the money he drew in. He was considered a pawn in a bigger sense, and a scheme to keep him there. I loved the 1968 comeback he did, awesome performance, Elvis was back the way he should be with his talent. With the black leather outfit he had on, it made him look so much more handsome and as a singer/musician, a performer to be reckoned with, he made the right move….I’m 75, and I still love listening to his songs and do so whenever I can, they come from the heart, including his gospel songs which are beautifully done, his voice carries so much feeling in them. RIP ELVIS, may your legacy inspire others….👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’m a 71 yr old Canadian and I think his televised special was just great. I’ve made sure I watched more than once because his performance truly showed what Elvis was capable of!! Frankly, nobody else could EVER pulled off his SPECIAL show like Elvis did. Elvis was the KING!!
This was Elvis at his peak. It’s such a shame that his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, limited his artistic potential so much, even in the film industry. For instance, he was offered the role of Tony in The West Side Story, but the Colonel thought Elvis shouldn’t be associated with rival gangs. Yet, in his films, you see plenty of fight scenes. Another lead role in A Star Is Born alongside Barbra Streisand also fell through because the Colonel feared Elvis would be overshadowed by the other superstar, Streisand. We could have received so much more beauty from Elvis, but his manager drove him to boredom and ultimately to his death.
Elvis even said he was tired of making movies. They all had the same plot, a song, a fight, and a girl. He is still the king and always will be for generations to come.
😊I am a lifelong fan of Elvis The 68 comeback special was great. I think he did the right thing he was tired of the movies they were almost repetitive sings but music was canned in, you could tell it was by the sound of it in the background.. but he was so handsome and his voice was great and just watching him had my attention. I was captivated by him when I was very young back in 1964. I knew he was special.😊❤
I was only in my earrly teens when. Elvis came out of the. Army so wasnt very interested then and ee didnt get much here in. Aus. Hated the. Beatles. Monkeys was mine and other. American ones.so.this great song really drew me back then i wanted more and lovef him from then couldnt get enough. Of his movies either so glad. Elvis sang that song. So many others like has been mentioned. Claim the throne he did too til he died. That black leather and that song on the stage for the great song of parkerd design. Elvis really showed how truly great he was. From then on there was no looking back. He was magical. He has left us so many beautiful amazing songs. So very grateful.
I just turned 5 years old and remember dancing in front of the TV. Elvis knew that he had to give it his all and was so nervous because he knew this special was either going to bring him to a has been or prove that he still was the king of music.
Elvis should have had more control over his movie career!! Parker held him to the sometimes corny movies when he could have been a very good serious actor!! But above all....Elvis was beautiful in everything he did. His career was taking off before i was born...but I most certainly love the man very much!! Lord I pray i get to meet him inside those pearly gates!! Elvis ...you are still loved and still remembered...ALWAYS!!
It wasn't just "support and stimuli..." from Steve Binder. It was due to the genius of Binder & his rapport w-Elvis that gave way to discussing what he wanted to create for Elvis. Best to see the many interviews that come directly from Binder's mouth than to rely on videos that are put together by others -- in those videos many times there is wrong information, i,e., such as saying it was the decisions he (Elvis) made; & that Elvis chose to strip the performance down to its core. Binder worked out managing to keep Parker away & out of it so that he & Elvis could talk & work out what Binder envisioned,
... Saluti
@@CadiaComanducci I am aware of Binder's reluctance at 1st since he himself says it on his interviews, I know about Bones Howe, etc., etc., but I do not go by hearsay or books, no matter how close people say they were w-Elvis or how long they knew him or lived with him. There are also contradictions coming from some of Elvis' "people" who knew him for 20 yrs. I know what Parker (who I never refer to as Colonel) wanted the show to be, & I know how they managed to keep him away so they (Binder & Elvis) could accomplish what they wanted to do. I know Elvis "yes-ed" Parker about the Christmas thing but later on jabbed Binder in the rib & said "F*** it, I'lll do it" meaning he was going against Parker & with the way he & Binder discussed. Binder said from the moment they met, he knew it was going to be a great collaboration, but Elvis was concerned about a large orchestra because he had only worked w-his few band members & as concerned about working under those conditions. Binder, being such an honest, nice, & ethical person assured Elvis. Elvis also told Binder @ last minute he forgot the songs, forgot the lyrics & wasn't going out -- that's how nervous he was. But you should really look into Binder's discussions & never rely solely on a book(s). You'll learn more from Steve Binder about what actually happened, more so than is written in any book. If everyone saw Binder's videos, it would lay to rest the many bad bits of information & comments & everyone would finally know why & how it all happened. Thanks,
Unfortunately --- besides his love of the stage --- the 2 other biggest desires of his that he never achieved were to tour overseas & become a good actor. It got to a point where he didn't want to continue on the way he was going. After all, how long can a person keep singing the same songs over & over, night after night, year after year, but just in different cities. He was extremely despondent. And while we know he had some severe medical issues that were inherited, had he been able to do the touring & acting, maybe, just maybe, he would have had the desire to help himself & live longer (possibly). Because as Steve Binder said, he felt "boredom" was a bigger downfall than anything. We see his despondency in the writings he did on hotel stationery just 8 mos. before he died. But it's good for us that we have the videos now to see & appreciate him.
I have been an Elvis fan for a long time I'm glad he made that decision. not like colonel Parker trying to do this Christmas special which is ridiculous trying to keep him down but Elvis did the right thing for himself
It's always best to watch STEVE BINDER's INTERVIEWS & not rely on others to "put together" a video about what happened, i.e., 9:30 "....Elvis chose to strip the performance down to its core..." is not the way it really happened. Binder managed to keep Parker away & out of it so that he & Elvis could confer & work out what Binder envisioned for Elvis.
ELVIS,he took the risk to show the world .THAT he could still rock like he did in the early years. And with that THE KING WAS BACK. HISTORY WAS RENEWED. ELVIS is ready to claim his THRONE AGAIN.Only better
Elvis did the right thing by doing 68 special I glad he did this. I’m not a fan Tom Parker he took Elvis’s money to pay for gambling debts he’s not a good person.
The only mistake he made was keeping hold of the amplified guitar too long. He should have given it back to Scotty More and the songs would have been that much better. However overall it was a great performance and a return to the real Elvis rather than that Las Vegas batman of later years.
Watching Elvis again in 2024 ,no one comes close to the magic of Elvis, the others are so far behind him they don't even make the top ten, he is even today simply the best, thanks Elvis.

Elvis dont need to talk or sing. All he hS to do is stand there. Hes the king
If Elvis did what Colonel wanted for that Special, he would have tanked for good. He followed his instincts, and it paid off.
There is only one king… and name is Elvis
I think that it was probably the best thing that he could have done at the time to get noticed at the time for him ❤😅🎉
Elvis did the right thing by doing 68 special I glad he did this. I’m not a fan Tom Parker he took Elvis’s money to pay for gambling debts he’s not a good person.
Can still speak had no effect
On my speech just another

💜
❤❤❤❤❤
Where can you watch Elvis 68 Special? ❤❤❤
Dvd or stream it
Yes, this was the reincarnation of Elvis
The only mistake he made was keeping hold of the amplified guitar too long. He should have given it back to Scotty More and the songs would have been that much better. However overall it was a great performance and a return to the real Elvis rather than that Las Vegas batman of later years.
Elvis is alive and a Pastor he will come out of hiding soon
Keep Dreaming Elvis Died in 1977
What a ridiculous comment! 🙈
BOB IST NOT ELVIS AND NEVER WAS !! 🙄
Finally get it !!
2 flakes with no idea let me guess your dumb
Elvis is gone to the great Heavens. As much as everyone would like to think he is hiding out, ih is GONE.
I wish I really do wish.
