The issue with counting the "value when booking", is that the chosen airline/class is likely 50-100% more expensive than the cheapest option. So this difference means that there is no reward.
That’s true! I’ve noticed a lot of small businesses don’t accept AMEX. At most big stores they accept it. But I usually have a MasterCard or Visa card I use when AMEX isn’t accepted
Great video!! I got an question though: Which CC would you recommend for someone who try to accumulate most points for cruises such as Virgin Voyage, Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise. Complimentary travel credit or fly ticket every year is not something that I see benefit in as I don't fly anywhere, nor I go to hotels on annual bases. I am looking into getting CC co maximise on probably both Velocity and Qantas since those are the points needed for cruises from my knowledge. I would appreciate any feedback. I watched so many of your videos, yet nothing addressing sailors, so I thought I may reach out through comment. 🙂Thank you in advance
Thanks for checking! I had a look on the website and I think the $3k spend in 3 months is only for the 75k bonus points (not the interstate flights). But worth double checking for yourself too!
Do I get points paying for rent, mortgages, car expenses, buying stocks, shares, cryptocurrency, and car loan (novated lease car loan), margin loan for stock investment?
Hey Queenie, do you have any thoughts on paying rent with a credit card? I have found a service offering it with a surcharge of only 0.99% and was wondering if it was worth it.
Ooo interesting!! The ones I’ve looked at charge higher fees and I saw it wouldn’t be worth it if you’re redeeming your points for economy flights. But 0.99% is pretty good!! Do you get a whole Qantas or Velocity Point with it?
is it possible to apply to any of these cards with a Student Visa? Im not a US resident but all my credit cards are from USA because they have the best multipliers/benefits but I would like to apply for a keeper card in Australia
It doesn't look like these cards accept student visa holders unfortunately :( It might be tricky to find one that accepts student visas. May be good to wait until you get PR or another visa. But it's great that you still have your US cards!
It depends on the shop! Most big stores like grocery stores and online stores don't charge extra fees, they just include the processing fees in their prices. However, I have noticed some smaller businesses like cafes adding a surcharge on top. In those cases I usually use a Mastercard or Visa card :) good to be mindful of!
@@InvestWithQueenie thanks I have been trying to move away from credit cards since reading the barefoot investor I can see where using cards like this could be beneficial is definitely something you really have to be on top of and knowing what other goals or changes might be coming up

Great content as always Queenie! Do you find most places accept the AMEX cards? When I had one a lot of businesses wouldn’t accept it?

Hey Queenie! Great video! Have you found any cards (other than AMEX) that you can earn points on for paying car registration in Australia? Thanks!
could you do a review on if the amex platinum card is worth it in Australia?
I just applied for the virgin Australia virgin money card as i like the codeshares and the points are alright with a low minimum credit value

Hey Queenie love your work, If i get the Velocity Platinum velocity card, do i need to spend $3k before i can use the two free interstate flights?
First 3 momths

Do you change credit cards annually to maximise the frequent flyer points?
@@MJ.2223
I do more than yearly. Usually 3-4 per year to maximise rewards points
Very helpful :)
Yay, glad it was helpful!
Hi. Do the discounts only apply to ECONOMY or PREMIUM & BUSINESS tickets?
Do I get points paying for rent, mortgages, car expenses, buying stocks, shares, cryptocurrency, and car loan (novated lease car loan), margin loan for stock investment?
Thanks Queenie. I am wondering if there’s anything we need to know about ‘eligible purchases’. Is there a catch?
Most purchases are covered! Only things like cash advances aren’t covered

Thoughts on AMEX platinum edge card?
Great offer with no annual fee for the first year! Depends on what you want. There are no bonus points though, so depends on what you want!
Coincidently I applied for the westpac altitude black card today.
Oo love it! Some great benefits on that card 🙌
I am looking for a credit card where I can get conversion of other currency fee for free when I travel, would you have any ideas?
The only one I know of is the Commbank Awards one! I don't think any of the others have fee-free currency conversions
Thanks 😊

Are Amex more expensive at the point of sale so even if you pay your full balance the item may have cost more be use of transaction fees

I wonder why u chose some of these cards over the Citi Prestige
Thanks for mentioning! I’ll check this one out 🔍
@@InvestWithQueenie that was a polite way to say "i left that card out for a reason". Haha well done madamme
