Yes! I've been in ketamine IV therapy for over 2 years. I've made it a RULE in my house that:
Mom's ketamine days are SACRED! Do NOT stress me out with ANYTHING! Period!
I'm groggy for a few hours after treatment. But, after a good night's sleep, I feel like a new woman.
I've been TRD (😂I hate that acronym! 💩) for 30 years.
SSRI's caused dry mouth so much so that I've lost all my teeth, except 7 little bottom front teeth. Thank God for VA Dr. Johnson who made me beautiful, all on 4 snap in upper denture!
My bottom molars are all single implants waiting for the teeth to be placed on them. Cannot wait!
Thank you for your videos. I'm a subscriber. That's how I saw this video so quickly!
    Thank you for you expertise.

I do my sessions in the evening- session, journal, snack, relax for a couple hours before bed- I feel fine during that time, but the next day I’m absolutely exhausted, I just want to sleep ALL DAY 😫

After my fifth ketamine infusion, I was completely exhausted for the next six days. On that day, I received my sixth and final ketamine infusion. That was five days ago and I’m still feeling completely exhausted with no energy. It feels as if I am depressed again, and worse than I was before I started Ketamine.
I was benefiting quite a bit from my first four infusions. I felt great but once that fifth one was given, it was a completely different ball game.
Can you tell me what’s going on with me?

I don't know if the doctor will answer your question. Legalities & all.
But, if you read my comment, I'm 2.5 years into my ketamine infusions.
My guess is that the dosage is too strong for you. Ask them to dial it back a notch. And that you may want to wait a few weeks, a month maybe, until the fatigue lifts.
Every body chemistry is different. For instance, my sister can only tolerate half of what a normal dosage of anything! It's weird. But, her doctors know her better now.
Also, you may tolerate Spravato better! It's not as strong as the IV, but way cheaper.
I'm not a medical professional. I'm just a fellow ketamine patient with 40k spent on my treatments. Out. Of. Pocket. Thank God my hubby has a good job!
I hope I gave you some ideas to discuss with your doctor!
      Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your experience, and are sorry you are dealing with all this after your final treatment. We appreciate your openness but are unable to provide specific medical advice online. If you haven’t already done so, please let the clinic where you received your treatments know what you have been experiencing. They know you and your medical history, and would be able to guide you on whether you need further treatments (which can be the case for some patients), integration of your ketamine experience supported with lifestyle changes, and what other options are available to you.

@@DesertRose63 thank you for sharing your experience. Yes I do believe the dose was too high. A doctor friend invited me to travel to his facility out of state for ketamine infusions. I decided to stay local and received four ketamine infusions, at relatively micro-doses. I responded immediately to the first three and I felt amazing. At the fourth, I began to feel as if I had fallen back into depression with lethargy, which is the predominant symptom. I was given 45 mg, then 50 for my second and third, followed by 65 or my fourth infusion. I canceled my final two therapies and got back in touch with my doctor out of state.
He told me I was receiving doses too small for my needs, so I set out for a six infusion treatment with him. This was a couple weeks after I had finished my fourth infusion in my own town. The fatigue that I experienced after her number four dissipated, and I picked up about five or six days later.
I received my first three infusions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I was so amazed how calm and free of depression, and most of all energetic I had become. I on the following week I received number the fourth infusion and continued to benefit.
The problem was once I received the fifth infusion. A couple days later I began to plummet. The dosage I received was 140 mg, approximately 1.6 mg per my body weight. We had been titrating up from 100 from the start.
All of a sudden, my energy level, and my mood dropped significantly. I became more sleepy than I have in years. It was a complete letdown. I don’t know why, but the doctor encouraged me to complete my sixth infusion with the same dosage. I did this five days later. I still find myself completely exhausted, unmotivated, and very depressed.
So the contributing factors to why I am feeling so horrible could be the high dose of ketamine as well as 10 infusions over the period of just under two months.
I was given lithium during my last infusions, which could be a factor. I discontinued it three days ago.
I sure hope this is only a temporary situation for me. I did feel the amazing effects of ketamine. Maybe my brain is just overwhelmed and is still recovering.

I have had 5 infusions, and so far, the pain and mental health are way worse. Why? I have one more infusion, and I do not want to go. Every time after each infusion, I am a 9/10 pain, and depression and mood swings are horrible. My body feels like it's on fire after each infusion and lasts for days. It is hard to get out of bed and function. Should I just stop? It has not been a good experience.

So sorry to hear the challenges you are facing during your ketamine treatments. Since you are not my patient and don’t know your medical history, I unfortunately can’t give you medical advice. So it’s important to speak with the provider giving you the treatments and or your psychiatrist/psychologist about your concerns and difficulties.
