Billy Crystal conquered the Winners Circle in :26 on ABC's version of Pyramid in the late 1970's. That record has never been broken!!!

Billy's record time was 26 seconds. Barry Jenner and MG McCormick had a 27 second $100K win in Sep 1987 for $100K, was the closest anyone came in the 47 years since. Seems like this episode was edited. Possibly was the way it was shown in December 1993 on CBS daytime, as shows had a minute or so more commercial time then as they did in 1983.

How rare was it that a contestant won both the $10,000 AND the $25,000 rounds in one episode? I know they still only went home with $25,000, but to do it twice in one episode was not as common as one might think.

Winning $10,000 is common or having $10,000 ties is less of a rarity but winning two winner circles in one episode that so much uncommon.

@@StLawrencePlace two episodes I remember in $100000 pyramid Mr. Clark era involved both contestants winning $10000, came back for a rematch, & lady was going for $25000 with Mary C but got buzzed on attractive things when the judge made a bad decision that got reversed to allow $25000 win.

Something how in the "restriction" era, they were only allowed the maximum $25,000, unlike when the restrictions were lifted and/or the syndicated $100,000 version, if you won both, you got $35,000 in winnings.

Actually, it was $25,000 everywhere. First WC was worth $10K. If you win both games, you play for a total of $25,000 (which means if you won your first WC, you would be playing for an additional $15,000; if you won $750, your second WC was worth an additional $24,250)

In other words, once you win $25,000 you are gone. However, in 1984 they upped the limit to $50,000 (meaning you can win two $25,000).

      Excluding the Donny Osmond version.
The players MUST win both front games and both winner’s circles in one whole show to win the $25,000.
