I used to watch this CBS game show, when I was young. Johnny Olson was announcer, before he passed away in 1985. Bert Convy hosted a number of Game Shows, before he passed away in 1991.
In 1982, after the success of the TattleTales revival, CBS was interested in placing The $25000 Pyramid and Child's Play on the schedule, replacing One Day at a Time and Child's Play.
I'm sure it would be trying to be married to a comedian who was always on, so to speak. But they stayed married for 50 years until his passing in 2001 at 89. So clearly they had something going for them.
Foster Brooks is hilarious. Especially when he said the one about his wife about ERA.

Paul LaRue Bert was supposed to be the new Match Game host,but he was too ill with a brain tumor.Lucky he was able to do the 5 pilot shows in 1989.

It’s fun to see Foster Brooks sober.
He’s very funny. But he couldn’t be that funny of a performer on all of his shows if he wasn’t sober - same for Dean Martin - also very funny.
Foster was a teetotaler. I saw him stating so on an episode of Match Game 79.

Had to quit watching. Foster Brooks’ attention-hogging drunk act is exhausting to watch.
Usually enjoy this shoe. Had to stop watching this episode after 10 minutes. Just awful.
