something i want to add to settle in ruins: the cost depend on the number of troops the army has and the more the lower the cost. so, for example a stegadon doomstack army trying to settle in ruins would have to pay way more to establish the settlement than sending a skinklord with 19 units of skink kohorts.
Bringing an army-less lord to settle is my move so my main armies aren’t stuck for a few turns regenerating health. Once they take it, disband, and you’re good to keep rolling.
@@greencheek i think thats true for most times, especially later in the campaign where money is not an issue. but in the early game you wanna save as much gold as possible. so if you have two armies that could settle the ruin, send the one with more people in it. recruiting a lord, just to free your main army for other things will really raise the costs for the settlement and you will lose some gold because of the supply lines for at least one turn up to 3 turns depending how far away this ruin is from your closest settlement. Having one of your early game armies do it yeah, it means they are stuck between 1 and 4 rounds in there, but that means you provide public order and corruption/anti corruption during that time. making it easier to hold the province or delaying revolts at least. so there is more for this than against it.

I wish there were some CA-sided statistics that could monitor which races are played the most. Would be interesting to see if there was a spike in the Last Defenders, Mortal Empires campaign after Legend releases these 10-turn/20-turn guides
ghoul kings are great for hit and run, since they have regen. i've fought two skavenslave armies using them, similar to how legend took on these skaven. it's boring, but it works. but then again, all vampire count lords are ridiculously strong.
Hey legend, Just wanna say that I always really enjoy your content. You make warhammer really fun for me. Could you do a guide on mortal empires Morathi? Her start is like really hard for me. I find it really hard to deal with alithnar. Her start is even difficlut on lower diffuctlities. Also I never really know what do with Crone hellbrone if I start as her. Her manic is kinda annoying and so is her start position. Because you want slaves as dark elfs, but she keeps getting rid of them. I kinda just struggle with morathi , hellabrone and malus , the rest of the dark elfs are really easy for me though.
All the high elfs declare war on me pretty fast with morathi, thats quite hard to manage as you can be attacked on all sides. Also mazdumondi will declare war sometimes too. But thank you for the tips. Helebrons Campaign is really boring then... Malus is easier, it can be hard to manage both sides even if you confederate though. One iusse I have with alithnar is that all his units out ranged mine, and they do quite a lot of damage to the heros, so it can be hard to deal with. Also he can ambush you...
@LegendofTotalWar you could potentially not have the priest in your army when you colonize the ruin and send it ahead and steal technology from Raseta to get the level up you need for wind blast without sacrificing a turn. also a tough traited (+ 25 armor 5def) krox lord can auto that first fight for those who are interested. only sometimes though its kinda weird, probably depends on the skaven lords traits.
Hey not sure if you're aware or not, but you can win a skaven ambush by just hiding. They don't seem to chase. They just hang around and watch. IMO you might be able to beat them by just getting past them, auto winning any time they try to ambush you, and taking the settlement without them in it.
very interesting! i had quite alot of early success with kroq-gar but would never have thought kingdom of beast by turn three was possible! thanks so much, can't wait to try this out for myself, would you say court of lybaras are good early allies? i usually wiped them out...never even considered roping them in to fight mors
I once had angry dinosaur campaign It ended somewhere around turn 30-40 because the sand queen convinced Grimgor to go to war against him, he then proceed to throw four armies at me when I only had one .
Its been a few updates since I played a kroq gar campaign on legendary. But if played correctly you should be able to auto resolve your way to victory over the skaven in 5-6 turns within 10 minutes
Playing as Lizardmen for the first time, couldn't get to load your save file coz I don't own all of the DLC(yet, with 400 hours+ in the game). Didn't get a good trait in neither the Lord nor the wizard, but the Skaven have failed with the ambush
turn 1 is pretty easy first you put kroq gar in ambush and recruit new lord let new lord recruit skink for kroq gar and there turn 1 is done easy EXP for kroq gar and caster and you will have windblast for siege battle
Legend thinking back to your tier lists for factions and not sure of you covered this already but is cavalry still trash after that recent 'cavalry' update or are there any factions that benefited from it.
Why didn't you start recruiting some sking cohorts on the first turn so you have them for the second turn on the Kroxigor ancient? Kroq'gar can't recruit since he is in march stance. Money seems to allow it and it would make it even easier for the following turns.
This is an off topic question, but in the first battle with the vampires, why weren't the bats forced to land at the end when they were the last unit's left?
It takes a while to happen nowadays. You can dick around for quite a while since it starts slowly lowering your leadership once it hits instead of instantly routing units like it used to.
I appreciate the response although I had a very different experience yesterday fighting Karl. He was on his stupid winged horse and when I killed the rest of his army the message immediately appeared and forced him to land. He promptly backhanded a bunch of my dinosaurs because special K is good like that. I hate that man.
Sometimes, empire mercenaries? troop, which have multiple steam tank and hellstorm rocket, spawn near this starting position within 10 turns, which makes this campaign so hard.
Shame I can't try this, because I don't have Kroxigor Ancient lord available. You need to have "Hunter and the Beast" DLC to do that strat. I would have been good to mention this in the video. :)
Why didn't the bats start losing leadership during the siege? They were the only units left and should have received the penalty for not having any ground units.
I don't have the Hunter and the Beast DLC so I think I may take Kroq-Gar to The Serpent's Coast then to The Cursed Jungle but not before recruiting an other lord to besige The Cursed Jungle and have Kroq-Gar reinforce on force march.

I once had angry dinosaur campaign
It ended somewhere around turn 30-40 because the sand queen convinced Grimgor to go to war against him, he then proceed to throw four armies at me when I only had one .
Didn't get a good trait in neither the Lord nor the wizard, but the Skaven have failed with the ambush
turn 1 is pretty easy first you put kroq gar in ambush and recruit new lord let new lord recruit skink for kroq gar and there turn 1 is done easy EXP for kroq gar and caster and you will have windblast for siege battle
the download should be a rick roll with a get good meme.
What a load of Kroq
More 10-20 turn guides Legend Plz
YYYYYYYYYYYESSSSSSSSSSSS! IVE WANTED THIS!!!!!!!1
Legend thinking back to your tier lists for factions and not sure of you covered this already but is cavalry still trash after that recent 'cavalry' update or are there any factions that benefited from it.
Why didn't you start recruiting some sking cohorts on the first turn so you have them for the second turn on the Kroxigor ancient? Kroq'gar can't recruit since he is in march stance. Money seems to allow it and it would make it even easier for the following turns.
Would it have been viable to have the hero search the golden tower for experience, then meet back up with kroq-gar before the attack at rasetra?
Thanks, this is super helpfull. I always liked this campain but the start was just agony.
Just FYI as an update if you get a tough kroxxigor lord you can auto resolve the ambush and be totally fine
Fuck. Yes. Thank you oh great cheese lord
Genuinely think Kroq-Gar has a pretty easy start compared to most factions. I just turn the cursed jungle into a sack city.
Good video tho mate 👍
Sometimes, empire mercenaries? troop, which have multiple steam tank and hellstorm rocket, spawn near this starting position within 10 turns, which makes this campaign so hard.
how do you play the save file? all my other save files are in the steam cloud so I don't have a specific file on mmy laptop I can drag it to.
Shame I can't try this, because I don't have Kroxigor Ancient lord available. You need to have "Hunter and the Beast" DLC to do that strat. I would have been good to mention this in the video. :)
Having reviewed the start with Kroq-Gar 🤣
kroxigor with "tough" trait wins that first battle in autoresolve.
