I love my k1. I have done a few mods to mine though. The best mod so far is rooting it. And running the script to install mainsail or fluid, moonraker etc. I also picked up the k1c nozzle conversion kit but also tried the new CHT style nozzle that recently came out on Aliexpress that is used on the older style hot end and all I can say is wow. My k1 went from approximately 23mm3/s to over 35mm3/s and that is with cheap no-name pla. I was also able to lower my temps. It is now holding me back from trying the new unicorn nozzles. I am just blown away. My printer has over 1500 hours on it and no issues as well
Interesting video, although I don't intend to buy one of these printers. One point though (please understand it as constructive critique): The results of the overhang tests are almost impossible to discern. Perhaps you could use a flashlight for side lighting and move it around a bit. This would help to be able to see the quality of the print better.
the dark material maybe is some filament that had to long contact with the noozle at high temperatur and begun to "overcook". I had that effekt a few times, when some filament stuck on the noozle for bit longer and when it fell of - it became dark.
i always go to my subscriptions first cause those are the videos i'm interested in. i only go to the home section when i'm out of videos from my subs that day. do most people use the home section first?
I think over time with some firmware updates the k1 SE will be crushing it ! Also with the cfs being backwards compatible it will be nice to have this machine doing muticolor
I'm sure the information can be found online, but you maybe should include the price of each unit in the video or the description... To me the price would need to be drastically reduced as the ability to print ABS and ASA with the enclosed version is much better.
When I started the recording, there was no price. I had to wait with the video publishing, until they are available in the store. Otherwise I would include it.
How was the sound/noise level on K1 SE? Creality should just stick with smooth and textured PEI coatings (preferably dual-sided, though nozzle wiper maybe does not allow that 🙄) and stop copying Bambu Lab nonsense glue stick plates 🤨 Or copy from the best - Prusa satin sheet 😅
At this price point it doesn't make sense the build volume matches the AD5M and I would rather get that printer, and for the $400 price option the Q1 pro, $500 P1P, and $600.00 P1S, the only way this makes sense is if you're a creality fanboy...........
@@oldman1944 exactly I'm glad I never bought one when I started, I made many mistakes buying tech off of what obviously is popular just by what people are saying and every response I kept getting was just get an ender but it was weird cuz almost every post was people having problems with an ender lol......
Actually, the volume is bigger than the 5M and it is $359. The Klipper that is on these machines is actually really nice. I don’t see a problem with this machine at all. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.
I honestly don't know why the did the SE, it is a totally pointless exercise, it's only about $20 cheaper than the K1 and only a little bit more gets the K1C which is a far superior machine. The SE limits you so badly as to what filaments you can print whereas the K1 and C can pretty much print anything.
SE seems to have lower VFA steppers and pullies from K1C. This alone might be a good reason to choose SE over old K1 - unless they have changed K1 on the fly... Quite a few users have need for ABS/ASA, PC or PA. I would expect small PC-CF parts being printable with open (or trash-bag-enclosed) printer without much fuss (other than particles flying around)... Unicorn nozzle may be easier to change, but it costs more, less variety compared to Volcano and no 0.2/0.25 mm nozzle so far. Let's see how it's priced on Black Friday
@@kimmotoivanen Printer wasn't cheap considering overall build quality and functionality to begin with. After two days the original plastic extruder broke, also default hotend isn't full metal and you only get brass nozzles, so if you want to print anything else besides pla and petg you have to invest much more. On the 1st use the nozzle dig into glass bed because of some bug in the firmware. The glass bed was quite crooked and it wasn't possible to make it flat without major overhaul resulting in inconsistent 1st layer and difficult callibration. Many screws has been loose causing failed prints after i found it out - was my 1st 3d printer and i haven't expected it to be such garbage. Default FANs in PSU and control unit box are loud as a noisy server only because they are of very poor quality, badly designed and too small. PSU and control board is encapsulated under covers with just few went holes which are covered by a very restrictive mesh thus making the fans even louder. Even after sorting most of the things the print quality was bad probably because of bowden extruder and non-optimal control board design and firmware-was using community firmware but it didn't change print quality. So this printer as a tool is completely non usable and big waste of time
Good video! You are literally the only one on RUclips that has done a full review on the K1 se (meaning the inboxing and first prints) THANKYOU!!!

First thing I did with my K1SE!
Oh thank God I waited!!! Totally getting an SE!!! Upgrades will come out over time which is why I went with the og ended 3 back in 2020!
I just bought an SE and this was really helpful

Wow, so many videos lately! Great work as always.
The nozzle wipe on the print bed is clever. How did the nozzle get cleaned since you replaced the plate?
Classic method, like on regular K1
The only print I want to see on a K* is a VFA test ;)
yeah, can't get rid of it even with linear rail, I bet it's the flimsy aluminum frame

I bet the K1C gcode would work on the K1SE since the K1C uses the same nozzle wiping strip
I put a textured B plate with nozzle wipe from my k1c on my k1,it worked fine.did the same probing .👍
Can you add a camera internally to the K1 SE?
I didn't even know there's a K1 SE. I guess this gives an idea how good the Qidi Q1 Pro is.

Do you think you can transfer the door and panel to the k1 se?
Can you leave the glass front door off? I'm limited in room.
Great video!

the K1 SE is $359 USD --- which is just barely more than a bambuu labs A1
Nice Video
very cool video , i hope one day Creality will do something original
I bought K1 with camera for 360 eur and it is no braner that I would go for K1 for that price.
You would never choose k1 because now there is adventurer 5m pro way better printer, why you did not compare it?
Maybe actually trying to print with other filament types
Based on algorithm and search results, you are *only* youtuber who got this printer 😅
Oh, or maybe I am the only one who accepted it for the review(?)

Yes, no need to play the Creality QC lottery these days. Many better options.

Had a Creality CR-6 Max, it was such a pathetic piece of trash shit bowden plastic extruder printer i will never buy anything from Creality again.
😅 was it really that bad? What was the worst part?
Creality metal extruder is cheap & nice, or one can print SOS extruder.
