    A few years ago, I bought my Creality, and while it still works fine, the customer support is basically non-existent. I'm so tired of waiting forever for their customer service to get back to me. So now, I'm seriously considering getting an FLSUN because their support is super quick and really helpful.

    This is *EXACTLY* why I'm totally torn by the K2 Plus ... it should be the FDM printer that I've been waiting for, it ticks every single one of the mental checkboxes that I had - 350x350 build area, fully enclosed, heated bed, heated chamber, multi-material support...
    I *HAD* a CR-6SE and it was ... OK ... I had a box full of spare parts, nozzles, extruders, spare heaters, spare heat blocks and heatbreaks, I used to keep a couple of hotends completely built up ready to swap in when it jammed.
    When Babu Labs announced the A1 with AMS I had one ordered within minutes and I have loved every moment of using it. It has become a tool rather than a hobby in itself - just as you keep saying - and I don't keep any spares at all other than a selection of different sized nozzels.
    I'm seeing the K2 Plus being advertised and I *REALLY* want to press the trigger on it because I know that if/when Bambu Labs do their larger format printer it will be a good bit more expensive than the K2 Plus is...
    And yes, the Creality shop situation is *TOTALLY* nuts and to be quite honest I was actually looking at buying one from 3D Jake *SIMPLY* so that there isn't any chance of that confusion!

    Having both a k1c and k1 se. Both are amazing printers. The clogged extruded happens when people don’t listen to the instructions. Keep the lid off and the door open when printing low temp filament that’s it. The ui is great. Orca slicer works great. Its fast. Very nice prints. And hardened nozzle and 300c hotend.

    Creality has been coasting off the lack of competition for too long and has no idea how to catch up now. Their only competitive edge was being dirt cheap, and they're not even that now. At the K-series price point, why would I not get a Bambu A1, P1P or P1S?

I started to trip re “the cable” and stopped when I went to the mounting place and, the cable was there, right under the place you mount the camera. Got it a couple days ago and have to mention:
    1 Creality sells it now on Amazon through their official store.
    2 AI Camera is in fact compatible with this model but cable is behind a piece of foam so buy without worries
    3 IMO it's better having more choice even if naming is confusing if you can tell what the differences are by looking at their specs on website I don't really see the real "problem" that youtubers constantly refer to.
    4 Really excited to have a cheap alternative to core xy that doesn't suck, in countries where we have to pay import fees this machine is almost half the price of a K1C, if you consider this and the fact that it can easily be modded to be a K1C I think this is one of the best Creality deals of the year :)

      @TheJacklwilliams 2 месяца назад +1

      I did as well and I love it. As I stated in another comment, I bought the camera, freaked out looking for the cable, went to the place it’s mounted and? Well the cable is under there. All you have to do is plug it in. Second, I was damn surprised there wasn’t an “enclosure kit” but? I got two acrylic side panels that I’m mounting and found you can buy the door from the Creality store. The last thing to resolve will be the top which I’ll draw something up this week. Bottom line I got a CoreXY printer that is actually iterated through from the first one which was a veritable shit show. NEVER buy the first of anything unless you relish being the companies beta tester. I’ll be printing ABS shortly and, btw, don’t try selecting that in Creality Print because they must’ve decided the K1 SE can’t print ABS, which is ridiculous. I tried everything, searched for an answer on their forums, nothing. Then I switched my printer profile to the K1C and was able to pull up ABS. Fun stuff. My printer costed me 350 bucks and? I totally dig it. Rooting it tonight or tomorrow and as this guy said, moving over to Orca as I move forward.

      @TheJacklwilliams 2 месяца назад

      @@FauxHammer LOL, yeah as I said, I understood what you were putting down from the get go. Two things on that I think are relevant. One, a strength is they iterate, they show time at the drawing board. I think they could clean the line up and not release every time they get an upgrade or two and stick to major releases for sure. Also, and this isn’t racist, as an IT guy I’ve worked beside brilliant Chinese people who are a pleasure to work with but? They are in a company and being driven, 24x7 to produce produce produce. This, causes so many issues and you see it, constantly. The thing that kicks my ass is, even so? How many American, European, Australian, man pick a country, where else do we get 3d printers from? It’s been high time for a long time for other manufacturers to enter the race but no one is showing up. Prusa is there, still charging high prices for, ok what has been proven time and time again to be superior products… But we need more. As a USA citizen all I see these days is how we’ve become the biggest consumers of the worlds products. We used to be the biggest in creating/manufacturing. Anyway, I digress. Thanks for the response. My K1SE will be fully enclosed by the weekend and truly I’m blown away by how well it performs for 350 bucks.

      @@FauxHammer I agree, I just thought you were bit harsh. But I do agree for the price you can get a Bambu A1 which could do the same and is more beginner friendly. but for a core xy printer there isn't much options in this price category with this performance and reliability. Creality does have a lot to work on, but for people who have experience with calibrating and maintaining printers, I could go as far as saying its an excellent deal for print farms (given you get through the hassle at the beginning)

    • @FauxHammer
      @FauxHammer  2 месяца назад

      @@Elshanawany Yeah I was harsh, but put it this way, you know the bits like the camera I talked about, Which it turns out everyone else has and I promise I do not have the cable.. I emailed them and asked them a few questions. Guess what, they completely ignored me. And as for "performance and reliability". I'll hear the reliability argument in a year from now when we have a wider pool or historical users to get a gauge from. It's the one thing i can't review on any printer due to time, but history has shown me that Creality and reliability are 2 words that are rarely used together positively in any sentence.

    Oh my, what a pickle they are in. I found your channel a while ago and just love your down-to-earth approach. I want to get into FDM as a way to create models on my railway layout in 4mm. I have collaborated a few times with Crealty on their lasers and scanners but not on any FDM. Your report scares me, lol. Anyway, I fear liquid and have only ever printed once on an old Anycubic 2n gen unit. I know you really fancy the Bambu machines. I started looking at the mini, and I was told the A1 is better as it has two support columns. Then, as it is an open-frame unit I wanted to have it in my outside garage / doubles as my studio. It might well not be good if it gets too cold, especially as unheated, just some overall insulation exists. Heat can not be left on at night. So I need a cabinet unit, enter the P1s. If I took the A1 indoors, then cats may be an issue, and any smells will affect my wife's Asthma. So again, maybe the P1s is the answer. I am so very confused. It is not so much the money involved, well, it could be as the cost has risen from 169 to 495. Then, the issue of the small interface on the P1s to that of the much better X1 or X1 carbon. The only thing I am sure of is that I only need the printer and not the extra AMS unit. I will paint all my models. Any insight to help me narrow this minefield down to a clear pathway would be great. and thanks for your insight in advance, cheers Paul

    To mitigate extruder clogging, try reducing the printing speeds. A poorly tuned 'fast' profile will work inconsistently because it's pushing filament too quickly through the extruder in relation to the retraction moves required for a particular model e.g. one model will succeed, the other will fail.

    Thanks for the review! This printer seems like a great alternative to the K1C for anyone on a tighter budget. From what I understand, the main differences are the lack of the AI camera and the enclosure. Those features mostly matter if you want monitoring capabilities or need to print temperature-sensitive filaments.
    That said, you could always add the AI camera later or build your own enclosure if you decide you need them.
    If you’re just printing PLA and PETG, this seems like a solid choice over the K1C. You’d save some money that could go toward extra filament or spare parts.
    Am I missing something here? It feels like a no-brainer if you don’t plan on printing ABS or carbon-type filaments.

      The product range is massive but their problem right now is - like all other manufacturers - that BL have come along and raised the bar, very much like Prusa did previously, and now they all really have to up their game massively to compete.

    Hey again Faux.. so let me get this straight.. there was a printer in this printer review? XD
    Joking aside most your critique was fair.. Creality needs to get their secondary websites ( i had no idea about the off brand site.. crazy they are allowing it ) under control and quality control has fallen well below what standards should be. As a result they have lost alot of consumer trust and rightfully so.. saw it in another video 'hard to earn but easy to lose'.
    From a positive they do seem aware.. app is improving and the K2 seems to getting a fair positive reception so far.. will have to see.
    But on the other end I swear Bambu users are out here trolling in force like they have something to prove haha. Never been anything wrong with bambu? Y'all forget the A1 recalls? Can't think of a reason to go with anything other then a bambu? Perhaps because qidi, creality etc offer bigger volumes that bambu does not and even when they will it will almost certainly cost 2-3000 out of most reasonable people's budget? ( and yes there are many other reasons.. walled garden etc but this is already a huge post )
    Competition in the industry is good for users this slap creality needed is a good example. Heck bambu is working on a large volume unit because other brands have proven there is demand for it they aren't 'trend setting' haha.
    Any yeah love the work as always Faux keep it up. 😊

    Now I'm not a creality fan by any means, my only printer is a cr10 max that came from a machine shop that thought they were broken,, it's actually a really good machine but my next printer is going to be a qidi q1 pro or max because it has a heated chamber and doesn't cause localized earthquakes when printing.

Same with the slicer, bambu opensourced theirs and now creality uses a fork of that exact slicer (basically using it commercially) without supporting Bambu Sudio or OrcaSlicer developers, or giving back to the community with meaningfull additions and commits.
