I have to come back and say, YEAH CPrint is slow. I didn't really think about until i was trying to work on few things today and even the interface is slow when dragging the bar down for settings
I hate to disagree with you but let me add a few comments: 1) you said the it has activated charcoal with a fan that removes smell and VOC, is that not the definition of an air purifier? 2) On the belt tensioning, it is manual but the printer can detect if it's correct or not, Creality increased sensitivity of the belt detector. They are supposed to release an update today to fix some of the issues with it. 3) Creality Print 4.0 was based on Cura, and yes it was crap, they dumped it and rebuilt 5.x, and 6.x off of Prusa Slicer , which is where orca indirectly came from. They are still working on it. I know it's a pain, but they seem to be working on it. Hopefully they will get it fixed. 4) I can understand the misspelled words as they only know Chinese. But you would think they would have someone that knows english to review it. I suspect they are using translation programs that is getting it wrong. 5) I don't have the printer, but I was under the impression you could root it and get it to print remotely from Prusa/Bambu/Orca slicer... I do have a question, you said they had the same screen ask the K1 series. Does it hang up too or did they fix that, because that is so annoying. I do agree that we need to push Creality to be better, but I wouldn't say don't buy the printer, they finally have something to compete with Bambu. Sorry, but Bambu printers are good, but the people who by Bambu piss me off to know end.
Their new 6.0 slicer is great and fixed a lot of the reliability issues I had, specifically with the webcam, on the previous version. It now has all the features that I used to use in Orca slicer. In their latest update they've added features that weren't available on Orca slicer. I no longer feel the need to use Orca slicer.
So a pc fan with charcoal filters is not an air purifier. Think about someone that has sensitivities like Asthma etc and they see the word “purifier” and think this would be somehow more safe for them. It’s a filter with a fan. There’s zero proof of its effectiveness. As for the slicer it’s a mess.
Activated charcoal doesn't remove particulates very well, mostly just VOCs and odors. You'll still get micro plastic and smoke particles unless you add something like a HEPA filter
From day one I was using Orca and sending prints to my K2 Plus wirelessly. Orca integration was seamless. Can’t speak for Mac but works great with Windows. Creality Print is dogshit so I hope you get your issue resolved but it’s certainly not the case for the majority. I also wouldn’t say it’s locked down as there is a built in one click root option right on the printer to get full access to the Linux operating system as well the installed Klipper instance to make your changes so it’s far from locked down.
Maybe the slicer is buggy on mac or something, on windows the slicer works perfectly fine for me with things like the delete key, it doesn't flicker at all and I can also move back and forth with MMB. Good luck with getting it to work anyway.

Not sure if I did anything different or what but I have been sending prints and auto starting them via Orca Slicer since day one all in local area only and I intentionally never set up a Creality cloud account. But I do agree that ALL manufacturers just need to stop reskinning slicers. The K2 Plus has a strain gauge on each belt path, it also has a secondary motor on each belt path that tensions the belt, and there is a macro in the fluidd web interface that initiates an auto belt tensioning procedure. I was able to make my own macro that tension the belt to any arbitrary tension I dare choose. I have the startup time on my K2 down to 2 minutes, not as fast as my Voron 2.4 of around 1.5 minutes but that's the difference between a 1k Watt heater and the 800 Watt heater of the K2. I was never able to get the Bambu K1C down below 12 minutes and still have reliable starts 99% of the time. As for the screen I personally think all printers are just better off with either no screen or at most the most basic of screens that is there just to set up Wi-Fi but doesn't even mount just a type c connection and then the screen goes away forever. Klipper and Octoprint essentially kill the need for a screen period.

in Creality Print slicer , if you place the mouse pointer on the build plate, and press and hold the scroll button on the mouse, you can push the build plate forward , backward, right or left wherever you want... all you need is a mouse with 3 buttons (left and right button, with a scroll button)
Do me a solid… read that back and tell me if that’s reasonable? I have a $5k laptop, I have the mouse that comes with my computer? 🤷♂️ should I have to buy a mouse because Creality took $1300 from me and included the worse slicer I’ve ever seen.

It probably doesn't work sending prints wirelessly because you're on a Mac, 3D printing is almost entirely based off of PC and Mac is an afterthought PCs always released 1st and then coming soon for Mac, this was going to be my first creality printer but I think I might wait unless I get a insane deal used or refurbished, remember just because you've paid $5000 for a computer doesn't mean it's good for everything if you want that type of computer always go with the PC because it's going to be compatible from the start with everything online or that's computer based unless it's made by apple..........
Bambu lab is 💩 bambu lab doesn't know how to make a 3d printer which is why so many of their design choices make no sense. And prusa slicer is actually the standard for slicers. Orca slicer is based on bambu studio, bambu studio is based on prusa slicer. Every slicer on the market aside from cura is derived from prusa slicer. They all have prusa slicer code in them. Even orca slicers logo is a copy of prusa slicers logo.
You can't be serious. Bambu is the the gold standard now, and every other manufacturer, including prusa, is playing catch up. Six bambu printers in my house since February 2024, all paid for with my own money, all have been flawless performers. As for slicers being based on each other, that's the nature, and advantage, of open source. And prusa slicer is based on slic3r, so they're by no means the originators.
@@NWGR Bambu is the gold standard in transit damage, bank chargebacks, poor QC and customer service and poor transparency. They have a 1.4 trust pilot rating for a reason.
@@LilApe Again, if they were that bad it would be all over reddit, their own forums, youtube, etc. Yet the vast majority of bambu users are happy. If they have poor QC than I must have hit the lottery with them. Six printers, a ton of accessories, well over 100 spools of filament. Zero issues. I'm not saying they're perfect, but you don't become a successful company if they're as bad as you say. The complaints you're seeing are from the vocal minority; satisfied users are far less likely to engage in feedback. If making a poor attempt to dunk on bambu without any factual evidence is what gets you through your day, have at it. I'll just keep sending prints off to my bambu mini fleet with confidence that the prints will complete without errors and with good quality. And FYI, trust pilot doesn't hold much credibility any more.
@@NWGR Step out of your echo chamber and you will see all the bad rep and problems they have. They literally just last month sold people out of stock items and lied to customers about it. People were waiting weeks and even over a month to receive their orders. All while being lied to and ignored by bambu lab. They were flooded with over 200 new reviews in just 3 days, all 1 star reviews. They lied to customers about selling out of stock items and lied by saying the shipping delays were becasue shipping carriers were "running behind". When the truth came out that bambu lab wasn't even turning over packaged to the carriers. How can carriers ship orders if they never received them by the sender? They were caught buying positive reviews several months ago when their TP score fell to 2.5. They gave filament and coupons to those that rated them 5 stars on TP. Nearly 3/4ths of their reddit sub is also bots, they buy views and followers on both YT and Instagram. They ban you for even speaking out against them or criticizing them. One of their employees and mods on thier FB group is a confirmed furry ped0. Bambu lab is also heavily funded by the CCP and venture capitol groups that are known for funding tech companies that were caught selling user data. Prusa has over 8k reviews with a 4.6 rating. So your theory of *"satisfied users are far less likely to engage in feedback"* is factually false. Even anycubic has a rating of 4.7 with 800+ reviews. Satisfied or not, people leave consumer reviews. And bambu lab is in the dirt right now due to their constant lying and manipulation and poor QC. They literally hold the record on transit damage becasue they're to dumb to understand how to properly pack a box.
Thannks for the great review. To say that Orca Slicer is based on Bambu Labs slicer is not correct and a bit unfair to the developers of Orca Slicer. It is based on Slic3r as is Prusa Slicer and Bambu Slicer. Because it is an open source Slicer, every company who uses it contributes to the ongoing development of it. Hence they are all using parts of each others codes and now are correctly crediting each others development (which wasn't always the case) Bambu's version has a lot of features developed by Prusa (who did the bulk of the early development) and Orca Slicer. In the early days of Bambu Slicer, Bambu got caught out for using a massive amount of Orcas code development without giving the required credit. They were subsequently forced to addressed this. Also seems several Mac users reporting they are successfully using Orca Slicer with this printer.....and no I don't own a Creality printer.
Hmm, comparing the K2 to a 2 year old printer..... not much sense. Compare the K2 to Bambu's next line of printers and we'll see who has the killer printer
CP6 is buggy as hell, the whole UI is broken, windows cut off, buttons missing. So are the macros, root it and take a look, absolute noob work. Before you release you at least clean up commented out code which is 50% of total code. As a dev i can instantly tell you are dealing with noobs who do not care. Also how they do things is beyond stupid. For example, if you make a new fila profile and forget to copy the temp gcode they use, the macros will use default temperatures and never let you know. Default are 50 bed and 220 nozzle, have fun with ABS. Why setting temp in fila gcode? Because their noob devs are first setting the profile temps, then cool it down for their procedures, then use the fila gcode to overwrite it again with profile temps. They could remember the original values and not have fila gcode at all.
Thanks for this review. I hovered over the purchase button for the K2 and I almost bought it. Being handcuffed to that excrement infested slicer is a no go. It’s a shame they’re no longer open.
Omg, totally agree on the slicer. Why oh why does the left mouse button not work!!!! And for importing multiple stl's it won't merge the model, I do it in Bambu and then open it in CP.
Exactly. Every influencer who got this printer free for "review" had nothing but good things to say about it. I've noticed that a lot more lately with content creators.

in Creality Print slicer , if you place the mouse pointer on the build plate, and press and hold the scroll button on the mouse, you can push the build plate forward , backward, right or left wherever you want... all you need is a mouse with 3 buttons (left and right button, with a scroll button)
Do me a solid… read that back and tell me if that’s reasonable? I have a $5k laptop, I have the mouse that comes with my computer? 🤷♂️ should I have to buy a mouse because Creality took $1300 from me and included the worse slicer I’ve ever seen.
@@thelightspeed3d712 Short awnser: Yes :D
@@thelightspeed3d712Creality took nothing from you, your decision to buy it. 😢
I think Creality will be developing the software and their slicer for this printer for some time and it will continue to get better. It is a market disrupter and a nice printer imho.
Where did you find that model. looks nice of the statue
Nice review thanks wish I had mine. I ordered mine on 12-03 still waiting. Has anyone else waited this long for delivery?

Belt tension can be estimated via input shaping. So thats probably what they are doing.
being able to replace the rods and able to remove them and the bearings for maintenance would be nice.
Is it the mac there is the problem,
you have not paid enough for it to be able to use a premium product for it 😂😂
It probably doesn't work sending prints wirelessly because you're on a Mac, 3D printing is almost entirely based off of PC and Mac is an afterthought PCs always released 1st and then coming soon for Mac, this was going to be my first creality printer but I think I might wait unless I get a insane deal used or refurbished, remember just because you've paid $5000 for a computer doesn't mean it's good for everything if you want that type of computer always go with the PC because it's going to be compatible from the start with everything online or that's computer based unless it's made by apple..........
what I learned from this review: great printer! But garbage, garbage, garbage...
totally agree. the slicer is a joke. i use windows
They literally hold the record on transit damage becasue they're to dumb to understand how to properly pack a box.
bambu lab is soooo much better than creality i have both, and will soon sell my k1 max due to bad quality prints
According to its own website, Orca slicer is "based on Bambu Studio"
Ya I wont buy it because of the slicer thank you. Creality after my ender 3 Is not on my good list anyway 😂
Hmm, comparing the K2 to a 2 year old printer..... not much sense.
Compare the K2 to Bambu's next line of printers and we'll see who has the killer printer
@@stuem163 yeah and it’s going into their professional line so enjoy that insane price tag as well.
Many users are successfully using Orca Slicer (which has built in profiles for the K2). I don't own a K2 so I am not defending a product I bought.
Thanks for giving an actual honest review. You just earned a sub. 🍻
Omg, totally agree on the slicer. Why oh why does the left mouse button not work!!!! And for importing multiple stl's it won't merge the model, I do it in Bambu and then open it in CP.
this is the video i have been waiting for, not just another creator who got a free product and are totaled bias
Exactly. Every influencer who got this printer free for "review" had nothing but good things to say about it. I've noticed that a lot more lately with content creators.
Piece of junk printer from Creality. I just returned mines after multiple failed print due to the CFS getting stuck and jammed during filament retraction. Did I say, this machine loves throwing error messages. Yeah, the large build volume is nice and all, but overall, it's not a great printer and not worth $1500. Bambu copycat, sadly, they failed to duplicate, haha 😂
