Regarding the creality app: you can completely skip that by using the web interface you can access via the browser when entering the printers IP. You can also see the cam footage there and upload prints remotely
Sigh. There are two apps. Creality Cloud, and Creality Cloud Lite. Lite is everything you want from the touch screen and camera feed and video retrieval, download and sharing. Regular has a “community” with their own ads. Everyone just took the video OP’s word for it and never actually checked
I wouldn’t say skipping since a big point of the app is to remote access to the printer/camera from your phone when away from the printer/network its on. Theres ways people made this work with klipper but when bambulab printers exist….yeah screw that lol
It's so bad. I had no idea that was a thing until after I bought it, of course, but I've never had an experience that bad before with a utility app. It's ridiculous.
@@YoshirosadoGameplays Most people don't use sneaker-net anymore. Apps are easily in demand. Your comment is out of touch, and merely someone trying to justify an inferior line of product.
@Catter I wouldn't even ever know this thing had an app if it wasn't because I saw this video, there are so much more advantages on using and SD card, even file read are better if you use and sd card, there is even a recommended format for the SD card, these printers were made to use with a SD card, apps are for very inexperienced users that just want to click print and have everything done, which is fine, but as I said, most of us know how to slice and tweak the slicers, that's just so unnecessary, that's like adding something stupid like a lamp, or an outside fan for the user on the p1p and call it "superior" just because it has something that's is not really needed and doesn't solve any problems.
@@YoshirosadoGameplays " there are so much more advantages on using and SD card" Really, can you tell that SD card to hop into your printer and start a print? "apps are for very inexperienced users that just want to click print and have everything done" Really, so you polled 8+ billion people on this earth and that's the ONLY reason people listed as a need for a 3D printer app, got it. Nice work, must have taken a lot of your time. Yep you are still so far out of touch with reality, you might as well be posting from Mars.
Up until now my k1 has been working great. My last print PETG translucent print, no supports, just a raft, minimal stringing and great print. All those that can’t get a print to actually finish off of this printer….I think patience is all K1 owners need and maintain the printer. I’m just a hobbyist but a patient one.
@@joeking433WDYM? Mine works perfectly and I’ve used the entire base plate + I’ve watched a more recent video saying they have fixed it. The old switch requires a lot less force to flip but the new one does making it fixed with under extrusion.
@@OliverWatson-s8c I'm gonna get a K1 this month. I am capable of maintaining it and the ones who can't even after the tons of hardware corrections creality has made in K1, then such people should stay away from this hobby
Hey guys, thank you for pointing out all the talking points between both machines. I personally went with the P1P a few months back and have consistently told people that,"I didn't know what good printing was until I got my Bambu Printer." On a side note though, would you mind popping a little edit into the video regarding the Cooling Fan(and Chamber Light) because they are now included with any and All P1P's sold as well as will be sent to anyone that did NOT get it as an Early Bird Gift. It's really cool what Bambu Labs are doing, especially taking a majority of the user issues into account moving forward. Thanks again guys and great work.
Thanks, Alex. On the cooling fan and chamber light, I believe they provide the *camera* and chamber light, right? That's what they sent me after I ordered, even though I didn't buy it as part of the kickstarter. I believe I addressed those in the video but I'll double check to make sure. Either way, thanks for watching and for the comment and happy printing on the P1P!
Yepp, no cooling fan, just the LED strip and the low spec 720p camera. Although that cooling fan can be purchased separately the main difference ist the enclosed print volume which makes the K1 more comparable to that BL X1. The X1 is also enclosed and also has a bigger touchscreen but costs twice as much as the K1. For an open printer (like the P1P) the more affordable ELEGOO Neptune 4 Pro (also with Klipper) for 300 bucks (€) is a far more suited comparison which shows the premium on the Bambu Lab printers.
@@hassosigbjoernson5738 The K1 is 1/3 less volume than the P1P and X1. Plus the quality of the K1 sucks. And now with the P1P being $599, same price as the K1, and the new P1S with enclosure and other new features for $699, that pretty much KILLS the K1 dead in its tracks. And all Bambu Lab printers can use the AMS while the K1 can not or anything like it.
If the worst issue with the K1 is the app, just enable stock Klipper (tutorials are available). I still think I want a K1, but I don't like *any* printer that forces you into their own cloud and/or slicer. From what I've seen Bambu's system is pretty closed.
It's not. i use Orca which is another fork of bambu which is also opensource. You can print on Lan only if you want or via sd card like every other lame printer.
Sigh. There are two apps. Creality Cloud, and Creality Cloud Lite. Lite is everything you want from the touch screen and camera feed and video retrieval, download and sharing. Regular has a “community” with their own ads. Everyone just took the video OP’s word for it and never actually checked. You don’t even have to use stock klipper you can just type in the IP and get the Creality device interface served from the printer
Thank you for being honest, finally. Creality continually rushes out printers with serious flaws and rather than fixing them, they just make a new printer. For years we had the never ending new "Ender" series.
Exactly, releasing new printer every few months and essentially they are all the same - always needing some tweaks and upgrades. i have ender 3 max but the constant tweaking got old very quickly. I was skeptical about Bambu Lab but since i got P1P i fell in love with printing again
@@Fantastika that remains to be seen. I am not fanboy of any single company so i do not care if other company leapfrogs them. 3d printing has been stagnant for way too long and Bambu Lab stirred the market and moved it forward. I wish good luck to all
They're definitely going to have to change that "iterative" release approach they've had for years now. I think they're capable of making good machines but their need to constantly have something releasing keeps them from actually polishing the machines before releasing. Hell, they *could* continue "iterating" the Ender series and reserve a "K" series for more spaced out releases of more developed machines, and most people probably wouldn't notice. Release an upgrade kit for the previous K series when the next one does come out like Prusa does, and shift production over. Honestly it'd also be nice if they finally simplified the Ender line-up. Keep only the V2 Neo, the S1 Pro, and maybe work on getting klipper for them. There is no reason to be selling any of the other models at this point, other than possibly getting rid of stock (but I doubt it); everyone expects ABL, 32-bit and TMCs (and an Ender 3 made now has two of those, so why not just get rid of it and keep the V2?). Also why is the Ender 6 still listed when it isn't even being sold anymore?
It seems that Creality is trying to do better with their upscale K1. It has a much more finished appearance and user experience, but Creality still can't quite help being Creality so they fumbled the extruder design and some details like the drag chain. They also tried to lock down Klipper in violation to the licensing agreement. So far, it looks like Creality got enough right with the K1 that the community shouldn't have too much trouble finishing the design if Creality does its usual deal and doesn't address the shortcomings after the start of production.
Bought a P1S two weeks ago. I've been running it everyday for about 8 to 10 hours. I have not had one failed print. It's fast and so far quite reliable. As suggested by Bambu Lab, I clean the PEI sheet with warm dish soapy water and dry it before printing. The first layer has always been perfect. Myself, if I needed another printer I'd just buy another P1S.
All the gripes about the K1 pretty much seem to be resolved at this point. The Creality app can be replaced with any Klipper app as there is a way to open the machine up to run full Klipper rather than the messed about with version that ships with the printer. You can also run Prusa Slicer as there are profiles for the K1 available now. Also there are fixes for the extruder issues and cable chain problem available from Creality for those with early printers and printers shipping now appear to have the updates already there. The camera and LiDAR are also now shipping for the K1 and already installed in the K1 max. For me, although the P1P is a fine printer the enforced cloud integration and terrible privacy policy make it a none starter.
Год назад+1
Bambu cloud and them using your stuff or selling it to third parties is a big no-no that mostly no one talks about. Creality seems to be solving their problems, but Bambu isn't.
Same for me, the privacy aspect eliminates the Bambu for me. I just ordered the K1 on the sale under $500. Ordered the upgrade nozzle as well and PEI bed.
@@n3rdoutmedia K1 firmware has been open sourced now so all the software gripes are essentially gone as you can now officially run full Klipper with associated phone app and good slicer integration. I have the K1 max which hasn't given me any issues. Make sure it is a recently manufactured machine if you buy one as the first batches had bad extruders but that is now fixed. Not as plug and play as P1P but has a good community and lots of good slicer setting available now. As you already have a couple of printers and have experience you won't have any problems setting up a K1.
Your complaints are minuscule and I feel like are almost irrelevant. The warped print is probably user error. The big fact that Bambu is closed and you have to go through Bambu for anything and no customization or upgrades for the p1p. Everyone know what they’re getting with Creality.
I have a K1 and its worked flawlessly so far.. Its weird that so many people have such different experiences with this printer. And why is the Bowden tubing for the filament not inside the cable chain?? On my K1 the Tube is inside the cable chain with about 10cm at the extruder end not in the chain so there is no way the chain will get close to the gear extruder switch as the tubing stops it from getting near it.. Its like this on the official website page to give you an idea of what I mean.
wait i can actually just put a cardboard box over my printer if i need even temp? i always assumed it would get too hot in there. should i add a small vent or no need? thank you in advance.
Actually I had tried my friends' P1P once, though dont have much experience with it. Problems you mentioned dont brother me, i might have enough luck. All the prints with my K1 are awesome, love it so far.
Thank you for your feedback on the Creality K1. I particularly appreciate that you bought the 3D printers and aren't making advertorial content. It was good to hear what you didn't like about the K1. While I don't minimize those as issues for you, they were in almost every case non-issues for me. I won't install any app to use a 3D printer. I won't send any files to a cloud server. I print engineering prototypes, useful one-off designs to fix problems I encounter in everyday life, and products that I sell. I don't need multi-color printing nor do I want the reliability issues and complexity. I don't print Luke Skywalker models and Mandelorian helmets, not that there's anything wrong with that. I was a bit disappointed to hear of some K1 extruder reliability problems, the drive gear engagement lever being too loose or getting knocked loose by the cable chain, issues of low quality cable chain links separating, etc. These are all issues that Creality can fix, but historically they may not. Hopefully there will be simple fixes from the community. I'd like to buy a K1 Max in a few months with those issues resolved, and I'd greatly prefer a stripped K1 Max with no camera or lidar (I think the Creality version will be Bambu Me Too gimmicks that provide little benefit) for $250 less. I"d like the speed and performance of the K1, with the build volume for the K1 Max, without the expensive fluff features. I'd like to keep it simple. My Bambu Lab issues are the carbon fiber guide rod tubes that wear and aren't replaceable, their near insistence on sending my prints through their cloud server, and the proprietary design particularly from a new company.
You make some great points and it sounds like the K1 Max might be a great fit. I love that everyone has different priorities and ways they use their printers. Creality actually contacted me after they saw this video here on RUclips and said they have fixed all of the issues I brought up so maybe they have. We'll see. Hopefully you find a great printer that works well for you. Happy printing, my friend!
The carbon rods are fine. There has been one instance of actual worn out rods and that was a guy that was greasing them which you aren't supposed to and which will cause excessive wear beyond normalcy including using ludicrous mode constantly. Every other "worn out" vid i have seen is when people took the hotend apart and noticed the wobble. Which doesn't apply since screwing the hotend together twist and tightens the bearings. Plenty of people with over 10.000 hours with 0 wear. Just need to maintain them. It IS user replaceable now since Bambu sells the X gantry assembly so if you end up wearing out the rods you can pop a new one in. Afaik the K1 also has glued in and press fit rods. Atleast some people made jigs to free the rods if you really want to. You don't need to use the cloud. You can perfectly send files through LAN through your network without it ever touching their cloud. It's literally a single button switch on the screen and most of the time Bambu studio picks that printer in LAN only up. Yeah the proprietary stuff sucks but eh third party hotends are already being made and eventually there will be stuff. A group is currently reverse engineering the board and Bambu made the promise to open up everything if the company goes under but that is ofcourse just a promise and i don't see a Bambu failure in a long time.
Does the p1p have to be connected to the internet in order to work? I'm planning to move into a boat in the future and well there's no internet in the middle of the ocean .
So just a few things. I like open source. So p1p has a negative for on that. Also I really want a printer that only sends data to my local network. Nix the cloud. When bamboo has been around for more than 1 year I will also feel more comfortable about it being not open source. Parts need to be available for the foreseeable future. The AMS feature looks nice, but I understand it does not handle TPU(flexibles). I do a lot of that so the AMS is not a big seller for me. From what you have said. I do like the bed size, speed, thermal capabilities. But I am actually passing on most of these new fast printer. Give it another year and I will look again. :)
I haven’t tried OctoPrint on it but yes, it does have a full USB A port whereas the Bambu Lab printers do not. I haven’t actually felt the desire to use OctoPrint since getting Bambu Slicer and Bambu Handy since they do everything I used to do in Octo. I know there are a lot of plugins that are pretty convenient though so I’ll have to see if the K1 can run it.
@@The3DPrintingZone i am confused. Why bother commenting on a year old comment with a year old video on a product that is no longer worth the buy unless it drops sub 200?
One question, if you don't have Bambu as an option, since Bambu is not available in my country. Only Creality and Anycubic printers are available in my country. Is the K1 a bad printer? Will I have issues with it? or it's only not as good as Bambu? I see a lot of USA videos saying to get Bambu but they are extremely limited and only available in north america and selected countries in Europe pretty much.
I think the K1 is a decent printer. It follows the same pattern as most Creality printers. If you don’t have the option to get a Bambu, I think you’ll really enjoy the K1.
You can print the ARC Bambu Lab P1P Enclosure to fully enclose the P1P, available on Printables. I don't own a 3D printer, wanting want for years but can't afford, just following 3D printer to keep myself updated...
filament is the strongest? / what printer can print the best filament im currently using a slightly upgraded e3v2 with petg (seemed to be better than the pla) i make rc parts and need them to be strong!
So happy to see a HONEST reviewer ...... I hate when some youtubers is over-selling a bad brand .... and keep saying it's top notch when you can see it is NOT! You have just got me as subscriber ... a old crazy dane.
people are printing enclosure frames (not the enclosure design in bambu site) and hinges for the P1P and they either source and cut the acrylic or polycarbonate clear siding themselves or they order pre cut sides from a cnc shop. Then you can buy the bambu X1C glass roof/lid or use acrylic or polycarbonate for that too. With the P1P developed as an open frame, bambu decided to omit the main circuit board cooling fan, which you would want add it enclosing it. You also want to add filtered exhaust especially if printing abs, which adds to the cost. And adding a cooling fan for the printed part for when using pla filament. It adds up though and would be better to get the X1C to begin with (or the k1😐 although it's not for me). Printing enclosure is a good solution for people who already had a p1p though.
Thank you for this video. I have been intested in the K1 as.a Bambu alternative to sace a few bucks, and you've sold me on the Bambu. The ads on the monitoring app are beyond the limit of what im willing to tolerate.
Defintely pondering the k1 max but kind of wondering if i should skip the first version and wait for the k1 max+ or something, some of the issues you mentioned will most likely be ironed out in the second version. Or hope that bambu labs comes out with an x2 or something.
Would love to hear an unbiased review. A lot of "For me" in there. Separating your opinion from the facts would be nice. Ultimately, you comparing a printer with an add-on to curb having to switch filaments is not a fair comparison..when, the add on is 300+ more than the printer you are comparing it to which is $100 LESS than the printer with that option. Newsflash, you are paying $100 more for an extra 56mm X/Y on the bed and the ability to spend MORE money to get a filament changer. This can be seen as a plus or a minus depending on your opinion, but not on the facts. It's a null fact. You pay more, you get more pretty simple, and *DING* not a "feature". At the bones level, the K1 is a better printer. By a lot? Nope. Both printers are great and have their own pluses. No need to Apple/Microsoft this just for clicks. Either one will suit you just fine.
I sit next to my printer (Ender 5 s1) and send jobs to it from Cura. I can see the bed is clean and clear from a £2.50 webcam too. I installed Klipper myself on a cheap Pi 3B+. It's not as fast as a K1 or P1P, but it sits idle for 16 hours a day anyway. I have no problem taking 30 seconds to swap a spool before a 12 hour print!
A few issues 1) most multi material printers don't have a poop chute. That doesn't tell us anything. I wouldn't hold my breath, but it is too early to rule out. 2) the k1 works with any slicer. The Creality slicer is just there for interfacing with Creality's cloud services. 3) you can absolutely change the notification settings in the Creality cloud app. Accounts tab> hexagon icon > notification. 4) nobody has a reason to care about 3 because it is a klipper printer. Just use the built in web interface like everyone else. The app is just for cloud slicing, or starting a print job from outside the home.
Microcenter has a $200 coupon for the Creality K1. Do you think it's worth it at $379? Is it possible to use Cura for slicing and Octoprint for running?
I have a K1 max, and a P1P and would recommend the Max. Out of the box is variable, mine has produced very good prints, others have had some issues. As an experienced troubleshooter and because Creality seems very willing to replace or to send replacement parts you can install and because you can get root access soon, it's really worthwhile IMO.
@ctgaming168 at the same time is better for hobbyists and tinkerers ,while using open source software with all its caveats, it is for a different audience. As much as I don't like Chinese markets as a whole and I don't have a soft spot for creality, I think they're better than bambu , only because bambu reminds me of Apple .
K1 and K1 Max have been FANTASTIC for me for the last year. Much much much cheaper than bamboo, larger build sizes available, and multicolor releases soon. I gave my 74yo mother a K1 about a month and a half ago. She'd never seen a 3d printer before 😂. She's now happily printing out all kinds of things and having a great time! Machines are great. Even for newbs. Also can get refurb models
You can use an SD card on the Bambus. You can also switch them to LAN-Only mode which means the slicer sends direct to the printer, nothing on the cloud. The slicer is open source and has been forked to Orca Slicer.
Wish I had bought the sv08 now. I have had the K1 max for just about 1 1/2 months, first 2 weeks trying to fix the X banding, then broken gears and Bed thats bowl curved I dont want to know what coming down the road to me it feels like it will break down until every part is replaced making it a $1000 machine and fixing work hrs not included in the price!
Really enjoyed this video. I am a complete 3D printing newbie and found it very informative. I just got my Bambu Labs P1P and looking forward to using it. Thanks for going through the side by side comparison.
Depends on what you’re looking for but they’ve fixed a lot of issues. Check out this video: ruclips.net/video/MXwsjaLzxnI/видео.htmlsi=hjImM63TyK2HE7Xk
Bambu lab is just a better choice. Creality has been in the top sellers of printers due to offering some decent well priced entry level machines but also market saturation flooding it with dozens of side models so their brand is most of what you see when you search. This sadly leads to severe stagnation in their engineering department the fact Bambu lab had to make their printers just so creality could copy the blueprint is laughable when you look at the lead creality has on BL being in the market. I know no one asked for this rant but I honestly do think creality deserves no customers point blank.
Even more so now, they are slowly becoming antiquated. During the days of bed slingers, and dual rails being a commodity, they shined. But they did not keep up with the times. They have slowly had their competition, and their knockoff producers catching up, if not beating them. Really sad, as they have done so much for the community.
Full enclosure and directdrive is very important to me. I can live with 220x220x250mm I would use prusa slicer - everybody uses what works best for him.
Good video. The Creality app appears to be terrible. The cable chain is a relatively easy fix but it’s not something that a user should need to do and doesn’t inspire confidence. I also agree about the concern of longevity and your experience with the Bambu labs has been much better so that makes sense. We will see if Creality can improve on these criticisms and improve. They will need to.
Exactly. I really hope they do better over Time and they absolutely need to overhaul their app. Like I mentioned, the printer isn’t terrible but for the money you have superior options.
They'll only improve (if they do at all) with another version of the printer. Unfortunately, all users who didn't know Crealitys track record and bought one are shit out of luck.
@@arshaqhabib1932 - Replace the cheap cable chain with a good cable chain from Igus or similar. Better attachment points may also be needed on the back of the enclosure and the extruder. Remove the reverse Bowden tube from the cable chain, replace it with a larger ID PTFE tube for less drag, and attach the new tube at the rear of the enclosure, the input to the extruder and to the outside of the cable chain near the halfway point. None of these fixes are expensive or difficult, but admittedly, none of these fixes should be needed on a $600+ 3D printer. On the plus side, it seems that Creality got most of the difficult and expensive stuff right so K1 owners shouldn't need to completely rebuild a 3D printer to have reliable, fast, high quality 3D printing.
@@Liberty4Everfrom what it looked like, it wasn’t the quality of the chain that was causing the problems such as the switch being flicked. It seems as though it’s poor design. The chain is simp,y in the wrong place. Too low for the switch, for example.I would modify that slightly. But I have machine shops. I don’t know what anyone else could do.
The app its a clone for the early versions of AliExpress app for that reason share the same icons, same display adds and almost the same sections... what a shame for a print of that price!
So... like the Luddite I am and not a huge fan of having everything connected to my phone and dont care about wireless printing and all that and just want a fast 3D printer, then the Creality K1 is decent then? The biggest peeve you have is basically the slicer you need to use and the phone app?
The same for me. Also bought that printer. Also not happy with. FBG5 worked fine out of box for several month with no any modifications. Why I should tune K1? :(
The newer K1 version past August 2023 is fantastic, the app is still horrible but works. Just a lot of ads. Slicer is not an issue as you can run all of the major ones on the K1. The camera on the K1 is awesome and it is nice to monitor my print from work. The K1 Max is the perfect printer, just that crappy app…… Hopefully, when Creality completes it’s purchase of Bambu they will integrate their app.
I hope they don’t, they will ruin the bambu completely, the problem with creality products is that most of them are rushed in production and quality control is not the best, the k1 has potential but they still have to fix a lot of issues.
That’s absolute BS that the Creality app spams you even though you have paid for the product. Agreed, instant deal killer for me and hella cheeky to boot. Thanks for the reviews, it’s making this choice easier to make
Thats why i got the Qidi X Max 3 3d Printer. Its running on Klipper. Works right out of the box with heated chamber for high temperature filaments. I like huge print volumes (325^3). I dont like proprietary stuff. I added 3dChameleon for the MMU.
The Reason the prints done by the K1 are trash is probably because you didnt take off the top plate or didnt open the front door. This lead to the enclosure getting too hot and warping the product.
I think the deal breaker for me with the Bambu Labs is the proprietary hot end/extruder you can't get a 0.6mm E3D nozzle for example I also personally would never use the app so the fact that it sucks isn't too much of a big deal for me I would like to see more test print comparisons in this review
There are aftermarket hot ends that support V6 nozzles and review well. Personally like the OEM stuff too much to switch, but happy to have the option.
@@technicallyreal interesting. I'll have to look it up I wish there were more in depth reviews of these printers small issues you can fix in 5m are not too big of a deal for me and same with the crappy app
I'm just waiting for my max preorder... should have a lot of the nitpicking fixed but then I'll have an extra 3-400$ compared to the price of the x1 carbon to use for upgrades that matter
The k1 Max is the one with the camera and AI, it's listed in a drop down below the k1 ina banner on the marketing page, I take it this took a while to get uploaded? On a related note, I understand that creality cloud is bad, but it would've been cool to see if you had any luck setting up octoprint with the k1, I hear it has a creality cloud plug-in these days?
I know the Max will have those built in but the K1 says you can add them. It’s listed in their spec sheet right on their site. They just don’t actually sell them at this point. Great question on OctoPrint with the plug in. I haven’t tried It and the K1 only has the single USB A port on the front so I’d be pretty curious too. I’ll have to try it.
why in the world wouldn't you get the K1 max if you already got the p1p? thats what i am doing, and was hoping this review would help.. I am looking for something to supplement my p1p + ams, and the k1 max with a bigger volume seems like a great option with the same speed and quality and cloud options
So basically, Creality still doesn't get it and along with that, with all the nonsense spamming they're effectively putting malware on your device. That said, from what I've heard, the P1P isn't on my short list either with how noisy it's supposed to be. The one video I saw, it sounded like the inside of some sort of metal factory.
They are noisy, it’s true. Like most things, different people have different priorities and the noise isn’t much of a factor for me since the printer is in another room with the door closed. The K1, for example, is really quite loud too but the enclosure helps a lot… At least when you can keep it all closed up 🤷
@@hassosigbjoernson5738 I have the Ender 3 S1 Pro, the problem is it's too slow and the Auto Bed Leveling garbage. I had to to stop using it and just go manual and now I can get some prints but it always take 20 minutes or so to dial it in... and it's far from silent.
You compare the K1 with the P1P, but also consider the P1S. For just a bit more you get a closed system. That's the one I would go for after watching this video. Thanks!
I am looking for reasons to cancel my preorder of the K1 but i dont really seem to find any, this sounds like a paid ad by bamboo lab tbh, most people dont use the app, i use sd card and i prefer to continue doing so, so the biggest issue is an app thats optional to use? Also the lever for the extruder, gosh, you were using so much force to open the gears with the worm thing, the only way that the cable guard or worm or whatever you call it, hits the extruder gear lock with such force is if the cable guard was sooo much stiff, and in that case a little lube would do the job; also.. what the hell was that test model? That same model wouldn't come out good in the p1p either, that was a model for a resin printer, that's why you only tested that model with the k1 but did not test the p1p, because you knew that model was not for any fdm printer .. so, still i will continue on my quest to find any good reason to cancel my preorder. Next time dont make it so obvious bamboo lab is paying you.
We each have our priorities and opinions, which is great. I can assure you I have zero affiliation with Bambu Lab, not even so much as an affiliate link, but if the K1 is a great fit for you am then that’s awesome. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. It’s fast and a major upgrade from bed slinger printers.
thank you for making this video, i am in agreement that the k1 isn't a pure winner yet. i wish it (and more importantly the k1 max) was. However since you're stuck with one you should know something to help with your biggest issue. You can ignore the creality app and use klipper's fluidd to use the printer remotely. On any phone, computer, or tablet. People have made prints to lock the start of the cable chain to stop it from bending over if you haven't already fixed that..
thanks for this video you definitely gave me some much needed insight on the k1 I already have a p1p but wanted to add more good to know I’ll just get an X1 in the future instead
Chipo p1p/s screen kinda reminds you you've paid not enough to have a good touchscreen every time you look at it). Not the case with K1. Number of times you do calibrations and twicks standing next to the unit should not be underestimated. I got mine recently and it's got upgraded extruder and has a matte lever finish, not glossy as the one here and the chain can not unlock that lever at the leftmost corner, unless I push it with my fingers. I guess Creality just made the chain longer or smth. The biggest thing I hate is the noise(
The Creality APP is basically Alibaba, AliExpress, etc for a printer. While I'm from the States, I have a feeling apps from Asian countries are very similar in design aesthetics. Everything I've used coming out of China for example looks like this. I avoid them all like the plague, which... they are.
13:45 I think the filament tube is meant to be IN the cable chain. At least it was with my unit, and I've never experienced the chain switching off the extruder gears...
I believe they worked out the kinks which made me purchase one, I don't do cosplay or need to build life size helmets, just a hobbyist, needing enclosed printer, prints fast, and easy to set up, I don't care for multi filament, if I need to change color, I can paint the project. For the price it fits my budget for doing very little printing. I bought it because the reviews recently are much better than it was in July. Thanks for being honest, it the K1 craps out, I will definitely let them know.
I am in the same boat as a hobbyist. I have only had one time where I thought multicolor would be cool and convenient, and that was when I was printing board game pieces as a gift for my sister. Currently thinking of upgrading to a K1 from my Ender 3. Is the app still terrible and full of ads? Even if it is, I would probably control the printer mainly through the web interface anyway. Are there any other things a fellow hobbyist should know about it from your experience?
It was easy to set up, enclosed, and small, which suited me for what I was doing printing small projects. I had to get the better extruder and the new hot end, plus the nozzle kit for later knowing these ends will wear out and not give you good prints. Make sure to set the power on the side of the printer to 110 or 220, normally if you are in your room, 110 very important, also make sure your printer is on that circuit by itself because it draws a lot more printing than your TV or PC combined. Also take the tube out of the feed tray, it hinders the feed of the filament. If you are patient and like to tinker with small tools and like problem solving. I would wait until after Christmas I know the price will be $400 or less. I would never buy one ever again, I am old and never used a 3d printer before and just don't have the time but I managed to learn in one day.@@RyanBoggs
The fact I can root my K1 and run klipper/fluidd is pretty darn awesome though, I've setup a macro to handle a print queue with auto ejection, it just performs like a beast! I don't print objects larger than the 22x22 and it's all in single color, so to me the K1 wins every day of the week, especially at todays price point ($350) I do have a a1 mini as well, just because it was so cheap and I wanted to test it out and see if it could potentially replace my K1 as I expand my printfarm, but so far I'm loving my K1 way too much :D
I have been printing well on the K1, the only thing to do is remove a couple of links making sure the cables still encompass the build plate, it still makes a little contact but not much.
Creality don't sell the camera so far but they get a k1 package which includes LiDar, hotend, camera and filaments. Good to have these as spare parts for almost free.
i have the creality slicer 4.8.2 for my ender 3s1 and it has all the things that You say it misses? There is another programm called Creality print, but i never used it and thats not the one that came with my Ender 3s1. But seriously, who cares? You can use any slicer you want. So i dont see why this should be a point of concern.
Thank you! Creality's choices for this printer ensures that I will not buy it. There are several severe deal breakers for me, and just one would be enough.
Comment for Algorithm. Appreciate the video. Just bought my K1 as my main purpose is to print PC parts and for the price It's probably the better bang. I don't do models, just prototyping of parts and unfortunately I'd have to pay 1/3 more for the P1S to do the filaments that require more heat and stability in temperature control. I was tempted for the AMS feature to add later, but it seems Creality is going to drop one for the K1 at some point and again since I mostly do parts my use case is not for it, but I can see it being nice for doing prints of the same part with different filaments for testing. I also like the large community Creality has if they do end up dumping the software as opensource it will get massively better. I've always thought proprietary is good and usually better, but doesn't last. Betamax and mini disk, so sad. P1P is pushing hard, but I'd like to see a longer time on market before I jump to them.
At 15 years old I bought a brand new Ender 3 v2 when it came out, kept it stock for a year. Then I bought a dual z axis, direct drive, and Creality box 2.0 kit. I can print at 500 speed with no degrade in quality. After the first layer I speed it up.
Bambu Labs do have an enclosure kit for the P1P that is reasonably economical, or you have the P1S available now as an option that is pretty reasonable. Big Tree Tech have recently released a Panda Touch device that upgrades the P1P / P1S display now. Very worth while. I know, slightly extra cost, but worth while and still preferable to me over the Creality offering. I believe, now ( 8 months later ) different slicers can be used with Bambu as profiles are now available, but I don't know off hand which ones are compatible. I think Slic3r and Orca work, but last I heard they don't support the AMS yet.
Give it a few months, the problems on the early K1's seem to be getting sorted out in machines being sold now. Things like bad extruders and beds out of level together with a few other niggles seem have been fixed on machines being sent out now. Also there is already a jail break to open up full Klipper meaning you don't need to use the Creality app.
Have had my P1P for a few months... It's an unstoppable tank of a printer. Huge fan of new tech but the P1P is easily my favorite purchase of the last few years. There's not even a close second
Regarding the creality app: you can completely skip that by using the web interface you can access via the browser when entering the printers IP. You can also see the cam footage there and upload prints remotely
Forget everything about using the web interface. The fact is, that the app for a 500$ printer should *NEVER* have ads.
The ad nagging from the Creality mobile app is an instant deal killer. I can't believe anyone would buy their printer knowing that.
It's so bad. I had no idea that was a thing until after I bought it, of course, but I've never had an experience that bad before with a utility app. It's ridiculous.
Thats fixable, very fixable.. also, I don't use apps, and most people don't, I slice and upload to SD card
@@YoshirosadoGameplays
" there are so much more advantages on using and SD card"

I don't really get comparing included slicers in a comparison. Pretty much any common printer can be configured to use common slicers.
Hey guys, thank you for pointing out all the talking points between both machines. I personally went with the P1P a few months back and have consistently told people that,"I didn't know what good printing was until I got my Bambu Printer."
On a side note though, would you mind popping a little edit into the video regarding the Cooling Fan(and Chamber Light) because they are now included with any and All P1P's sold as well as will be sent to anyone that did NOT get it as an Early Bird Gift.
@@3d_printed_maker Another moron - I mean voron - fanboy chimes in... lol

You don’t even have to use stock klipper you can just type in the IP and get the Creality device interface served from the printer
What I love about PrusaSlicer, is you can feed it STEP files instead of STL and the circles and curve come out real smooth.
It still converts the step into a mesh, so as long as the mesh that's being compared to the step is decent quality, it'll come out the same.
Bambu studio can do this too!

I was skeptical about Bambu Lab but since i got P1P i fell in love with printing again
bambulab will be doing the exact same
@@Fantastika that remains to be seen.
There is a button on the Bambu printers right on the menu that asks if you want to use Lan Only. One click and everything stays in your home.
Just saw the K1 at Micro Center for $399. Really interested in getting one. I have the Ender 3 and AnkerMake M5 now.
Fair enough. Yup, those are just my opinions, of course.
They updated the machine from what I hear so if you got one more recently they have fixed alot of the issues on them.
wait i can actually just put a cardboard box over my printer if i need even temp? i always assumed it would get too hot in there. should i add a small vent or no need?

This is the best K1 and P1P comparison on the internet👍.
@Liberty4Ever I echo your thoughts! I am leaning towards Creality K1 Max (when they back in stock) or Voron 2.4
@@The3DPrintingZone including spam notification booming and adds on app?
@@premium2554 I sincerely doubt that has been resolved in any way. I suspect they were referring only to hardware issues but we'll see.
What about warranty and customer support, which has better Creality or Bambu?
I print TPU on my X1 all the time. I connect it to a separate drybox and it's really good.
Take a look at something like a Sovol SV07. With the SV06 being fully open source, the chances are very good.
From what I read the K1 has a usb port and the Bamboo p1p does not.
Can you use Octoprint with the K1 ?
I haven’t tried OctoPrint on it but yes, it does have a full USB A port whereas the Bambu Lab printers do not. I haven’t actually felt the desire to use OctoPrint since getting Bambu Slicer and Bambu Handy since they do everything I used to do in Octo. people are printing enclosure frames (not the enclosure design in bambu site) and hinges for the P1P and they either source and cut the acrylic or polycarbonate clear siding themselves or they order pre cut sides from a cnc shop.

Just on a side note, although the k1 can't make use of ams it can use palette's multicolor system, including the 8 color system
A few issues
1) most multi material printers don't have a poop chute.

I'm currently 3 prints into k1 max and loving it for now. Hope it keeps this quality up.
Still good?
@@Dale424 Yes it's still nice, I have printed like 10 kg filament+ and it's still going strong.
@@Kingenious nice good to know thanks. Prestige worldwide 🤝
I have a creality sermoon d1. After using it extensively for two months, the conclusion is to avoid it if you don’t enjoy slow and excruciating pain.
Just one simple question Can I simply slice load to a sd or usb I hate over the air bs I like baby sitting
Yes, you can load to either printer without WiFi. One goes to Micro SD, the other to USB Drive.
🤣
Can you opt to use OctoPrint / Klipper on either one of them? Because honestly, I'd rather not use the built in stuff.
no klipper on bambu dont know bout octoprint. but the k1 has klipper but its locked with limted features right now hopefully be open before long
You can use an SD card on the Bambus.
I have the SV01 and SV02. They’re pretty amazing for their price! I’m sure the 8 is even better!
Really enjoyed this video. I am a complete 3D printing newbie and found it very informative. I just got my Bambu Labs P1P and looking forward to using it. Thanks for going through the side by side comparison.
is it worth it to have the new K1C ? as they fixed some stuff ?
I can live with 220x220x250mm
I would use prusa slicer - everybody uses what works best for him.
What solution would there be for the chain cable that doesn't include removal?
Any thoughts on the NEW Creality K1 SE for $360 USD?
Creality now sells cameras for the K1 - it's about €40 in Germany, available through a few retailers and Creality themselves.
Why isn’t the P1P on Amazon? I don’t have a credit card (don’t plan on getting one ats) so I usually use gift Amazon cards. Recommendations?
Your out of luck... You can only get them on bambus website or in person at micro center.
Im I’m the same situation, so many issues with my k1 and trying to get it returned… have you been able to get your return request approved?
Yep. Same, but I got mine through Amazon, so returning isn't an issue. Though I feel your pain for sure
Where can I get the 1st file you were printing on the k1? I think it's for testing speeds? The model u showed that had the layer shift also. Thank you
That one actually came with the K1 and I haven't seen it elsewhere. Sorry I'm not much help on that one!
@The 3D Printing Zone ok thank you
That’s absolute BS that the Creality app spams you even though you have paid for the product. Agreed, instant deal killer for me and hella cheeky to boot. Thanks for the reviews, it’s making this choice easier to make
True but the Bambu one shares all your CAD with china.
@@brandonwilson4090you know creality is also a Chinese company right
Thats why i got the Qidi X Max 3 3d Printer.
This video really made me feel better about buying the P1S over the K1 - the P1S fixed basically all the issues you brought up with the P1P.
does the upload time to the P1P not bother you at all? its one of the reasons I was thinking going with the X1C
You’ll have to elaborate on this. I have them both and they both upload to the printer in the same amount of time.
Bambu allow you to upload locally now
A fair comparison would've been with the k1 MAX, not the normal one.. Is this post creality update?
We have a video with the Creality updates. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/MXwsjaLzxnI/видео.htmlsi=hjImM63TyK2HE7Xk
I think the deal breaker for me with the Bambu Labs is the proprietary hot end/extruder
you can't get a 0.6mm E3D nozzle for example
I also personally would never use the app so the fact that it sucks isn't too much of a big deal for me
I would like to see more test print comparisons in this review
there are alot of clones already for bambu most using cht nozzles in them now
There are aftermarket hot ends that support V6 nozzles and review well. Personally like the OEM stuff too much to switch, but happy to have the option.
@@technicallyreal interesting. I'll have to look it up
I wish there were more in depth reviews of these printers
small issues you can fix in 5m are not too big of a deal for me and same with the crappy app
I'm just waiting for my max preorder... should have a lot of the nitpicking fixed but then I'll have an extra 3-400$ compared to the price of the x1 carbon to use for upgrades that matter
@@Kungpaoshizzi k1 max is 999 and the x1 is 1199 so 200 for 1449 u get ams
Thumbs up for not having the printers sent to you by the company. Any sponsored video is a shill product as far as I'm concerned
Returned my printer the next day. The Extruder gave me tons of issues. They're trying to make a "no tinker" machine but failed hard on this.
why in the world wouldn't you get the K1 max if you already got the p1p? thats what i am doing, and was hoping this review would help..
The K1, for example, is really quite loud too but the enclosure helps a lot… At least when you can keep it all closed up 🤷
If you want a silent printer, you would have to choose a slower one, like a Sovol SV 06 or a Ender S1.
Put it on concert pavers and foam, and put it in a box for the price you're an idiot to complain
any thoughts on this 4 months later?
Yep, check out our thoughts here: ruclips.net/video/MXwsjaLzxnI/видео.htmlsi=hjImM63TyK2HE7Xk
Check out the Xtouch screen addition for the P1P or P1S. Open source and no soldering required and inexpensive.
Or now you can get the P1P to P1S upgrade kit, if desired, to make it fully enclosed, which is nice.
Ditto
I believe they worked out the kinks which made me purchase one, I don't do cosplay or need to build life size helmets, just a hobbyist,
needing enclosed printer, prints fast, and easy to set up, I don't care for multi filament, if I need to change color, I can paint the
project. For the price it fits my budget for doing very little printing. I bought it because the reviews recently are much better
than it was in July.
I had to get the better extruder and the new hot end, plus
the nozzle kit for later knowing these ends will wear out and not give you good prints. Make sure to set the power on the side of the printer to 110 or 220, normally if you are in your room, 110 very important, also make
sure your printer is on that circuit by itself
because it draws a lot more printing than your TV or PC combined. Also take the tube
out of the feed tray, it hinders the feed of the filament.
I don't print objects larger than the 22x22 and it's all in single color, so to me the K1 wins every day of the week, especially at todays price point ($350)
I do have a a1 mini as well, just because it was so cheap and I wanted to test it out and see if it could potentially replace my K1 as I expand my printfarm, but so far I'm loving my K1 way too much :D
I have been printing well on the K1, the only thing to do is remove a couple of links making sure the cables still encompass the build plate, it still makes a little contact but not much.
LOL!
Can't you just use Orca slicer?
Update? Is your opinion still the same?
The changes they’ve made have greatly enhanced the printer. See this video: ruclips.net/video/MXwsjaLzxnI/видео.htmlsi=hjImM63TyK2HE7Xk
Thx for rewiew, i was just thinkin witch one to buy. 👌🏻
I was about to order the K1 so I really appreciate the honest and practical review.
I will go with an p1p. Thank you. All other vid says there are good but I was not sure. Now I him😊
I really think you’ll love the P1P. Enjoy!
Just had my P1P delivered, and now, thanks to this video, I have ZERO buyer's remorse!
is the app for the p1p over LAN or can you use it from farther away?
Same lol
Fortunately it’s cloud based, so you don’t have to be on the same network.
It’s such a solid machine. You’re gonna love using it!
Have had my P1P for a few months... It's an unstoppable tank of a printer. Huge fan of new tech but the P1P is easily my favorite purchase of the last few years. There's not even a close second
