About SWISS (from Wikipedia):
Swiss International Air Lines AG, colloquially known as SWISS, is the flag carrier of Switzerland and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. It operates scheduled services in Europe and to North America, South America, Africa and Asia. Zurich Airport serves as its sole hub and Geneva Airport as a focus city. The airline was formed following the bankruptcy in 2002 of Swissair, Switzerland's then-flag carrier. The new airline was built around what had been Swissair's regional subsidiary, Crossair. Swiss retains Crossair's IATA code LX (Swissair's code was SR). It assumed Swissair's old ICAO code of SWR (Crossair's was CRX), to maintain international traffic rights. It is a member of Star Alliance and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. Its headquarters are at EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg near Basel, Switzerland, and an office at Zurich Airport in Kloten, Switzerland. The company's registered office is in Basel.
About Airbus A330 (from Wikipedia):
The Airbus A330 is a wide-body aircraft developed and produced by Airbus. Airbus conceived several derivatives of the A300, its first airliner from the mid-1970s. Then the company began development on the A330 twinjet in parallel with the A340 quadjet and launched both designs with their first orders in June 1987. The A330-300, the first variant, took its maiden flight in November 1992 and entered service with Air Inter in January 1994. The slightly shorter A330-200 variant followed in 1998.
The A330 shares its airframe with the early A340 variants, but having two main landing gear legs instead of three, lower weights, and slightly different lengths. Both airliners have fly-by-wire controls as well as a similar glass cockpit to increase the commonality. The A330 was Airbus's first airliner to offer a choice of three engines: the General Electric CF6, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or the Rolls-Royce Trent 700. The A330-300 has a range of 11,750 km (6,350 nmi; 7,300 mi) with 277 passengers, while the shorter A330-200 can cover 13,450 km (7,250 nmi; 8,360 mi) with 247 passengers. Other variants include the A330-200F dedicated freighter, the A330 MRTT military tanker, and the ACJ330 corporate jet. The A330 MRTT was proposed as the EADS/Northrop Grumman KC-45 for the US Air Force's KC-X competition, but lost to the Boeing KC-46 in appeal after an initial win.

Dan, after Swiss Senses releases in 2025 please review it. It’ll be more comfortable, I promise!!
I'm sorry, 13:47 Ron DeSantis has charm? Did I hear that correctly 😂
I really hate that you advertise for these guys. Disappointing
@chrisg5561 100 % agree. This is an aviation channel and the "investment" in art is one of the most difficult assets.
@NonstopDan thanks for unbiased reviews, really helpful when spending hard earned money/miles on biz class
I am a flight attendant for SWISS and I can only agree. I am pretty ashamed of the product we offer.
Sorry to hear that! Hopefully the new Allegris comes with some soft product improvements as well🙏
Swiss are just trying to squeeze the most out of an old airframe, which charging premium prices on a ageing, tired product. I would rather fly Singapore or EVA air from Asia to Europe. Avoid Swiss where Possible.
the leaders are spending Trillions Like drunk Sailors. And if you try to stop that then you end up In Prison Jail or worse
We are in the new dark times
Hello, thank you for your video about Swiss Business Class from ZRH - DXB. I actually wanted to buy a ticket this week in Business Clas for Februar 2024 from BER to DXB via ZRH but after I watched your video and after I read the comments here I will not buy this product. Is Lufthansa or Austrian maybe better, can someone recommend? I would like to use any airlines which cooperate with Miles & More because I am a FLT Card Holder. Thank you. Adam@@NonstopDan
@@AdamGebica Hey Adam. As a Miles & More Senator with over 100 segments per year, I unfortunately need to tell you that Swiss is still a lot better than Lufthansa. Catering is worlds ahead and you at least can get a single window seat with direct aisle access. I would slighty prefer Austrian over Swiss, but its basically the very same business class cabin, so no big difference there. While I agree with Nonstop-Dan in some areas, Swiss is still selling out their business class in almost every flight, so from a Swiss CEO's perspective, there is no need to change anything :)
I've been watching you for a year now and how far you've come is amazing to me. Your videos are cinematic and engaging with fantastically controlled dry humor . Keep it up Dan!
Thank you for your honestly! Your focus on those who travel less often is an important one. As the prices go up up up, and the BC cabins vary so greatly it makes your reviews so valuable when one is try to decide who to fly.
Love the transparency!! Thanks Dan!
Thanks Dan! Love watching your videos!!!
You should make a comparison of all European airlines by flying them in each class and deciding the best one showdown style
this would be Swiss. Yes, the other European carriers are worse
I flew on Swiss First class last month from Tokyo to Zurich which was a 14 hour flight. It was a day flight completely and they served just 2 meals. And the second meal just before landing was a sandwich.
yikes
Not enough for first class
@@CookiemyRubyyou believe I’m lying? I’m a senator member and have been for about 10 years now. this was my 4th first class flight that I flew this year alone.
Unfortunately they are owned by the Lufthansa Group.
I flew the same route in Jan 2020 and the meal service was abysmal then as well
Can confirm. Flew from ORD to ZRH in June. This trip was horrendous and the cheese plate looked unrecognizable. Airplane was from the 90 and never refitted. Everything was old and worn off. Price was premium tho 😁
Keep up the good work, I love your videos!
Im Swiss HON Circle and Lifetime Senator, pre-covid Swiss was really solid carrier across Y/J/F. However it just seems like Swiss hasnt innovated, worn down infrastructure and decreasing quality across all 4 cabin classes. And already looking at the "new" Algeris product, I prefer the older (current new) J B77W product and the First product I'll have to see for myself. The A330 and A343 products are poor and I avoid them at all costs.
Yes, Swiss Aircraft , particularly the A340’s are worn & aged, and Swiss are trying to extract premium prices on these ageing aircraft. You are better off flying Singapore Airline# or EVA Air between Europe & Asia.
The seats of economy. The space in the rear of the cabin , y the food, where is the a A350-900? 1000 still using the aircraft 2001? They are using old aircraft to welcome their niche customer, I only see the fotos for the advisement are good. 😊
EU and US airlines are well protected by their own government., business will only change when there is competition. Survival the fittest.
If I were Austrian, I would fly with Austrian as often as possible.
Although they are treated so badly by Lufthansa and have to fly around with such old aircraft, the flying experience for me as a senator is by far the best with Austrian! I am looking forward to the new 787, and if LH would let them, they would perform even better.
Best regards from Zurich
@@paulsz6194 i agree, EVA for instance offers one of the best service and product in the world (at least in my opinion)
Oh the Sass-level CRANKED at @11:35 and I'm HERE. FOR. IT! Dan's no-holding-back commentary is precious. If I was Swiss Air, I'd pay attention and take notes from you, Sir! Thanks for another great upload.
Love you Dan! Thanks for your great reviews. Regards from NL
Was in a Swiss business flight to Boston a couple of weeks ago. There was no hot towel provided. That really surprised me.
I've never flew business/first class but Dan's videos make me want to fly them as frequently as possible lol, I'm so happy youre doing this it will help those of us planning trips to make better decisions before tossing so much money to an airline
Ciao Dan, Love your videos, I appreciate what you do. I would like to point out that as an artist, it would be nice if people would invest in actual artwork that they can hang in their homes or offices. Investing online with a group like Masterworks doesn't help living artists at all, and you don't even get to enjoy a real painting. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to your next video!!!💜
This video is such a far cry from the Dantorp days. Love your videos!❤️✈️
I totally agree with you there. Flew 3 weeks ago ZRH-SFO in business class and for a lot of money on a single seat. In the business lounge there was for ALL drinks only one glass form (white wine glass) which was totally lousy, ALL drinks except the beer from the tap were lukewarm as well as the food offered. Unfortunately the seat was hard, the food not worth the money (dry beef fillet that was cooked through), however ser service in general was good. On the night return flight SFO-ZRH the same: hard seats (impossible to sleep), a lukewarm meal and at least the breakfast in the morning was good. In the future I will save the money.
keep up the good work!! Another amazing video👍🏾
First airline I ever flew by myself (at age 6!) The staff was so wonderful. Maybe better I not shatter the illusion of those happy memories.
I’ll be on this exact flight out of and into DXB from sheer necessity in order to make it back to the US to spend Thanksgiving with the fam for the first time since 2012. I’m booked with United to get me to Newark, but the dates I wanted were outrageously expensive. I guess holiday pricing is in full effect. I used a pretty substantial flight credit I had with UA, so I’m just going to grin and bear it.
Please remember that the A330 business class product is much different than the A340 or B777. You are criticizing a whole airline based on a minority of their products.
Dan, could you do a video commenting on the current state of award/points flight booking? It feels like there's so little award seat availability. The Aeroplan website has had a known bug for months that it won't show partner award flights (or even cash ones) with no foreseeable fix. Is it just a bounce back in travel and people spending the points they saved over the pandemic or is this also a cost cutting measure from airlines?
For some added context on the hard product: the J seats on LX's A330s are tired but it was originally rolled out in 2009 so not really surprising imo. Having flown the seat in 2016 (they were outdated then), the newer 777 and A340 J cabins are a big upgrade in comparison. At least the A330s will be refurbished with the new Swiss Senses (LH Allegris) cabin starting in 2026.
tl;dr wait for the brand new a350s coming in 2025 or the cabin refresh in 2026
was planning a trip to Switzerland next summer so looks like i will be using air Canada business
Thank you and your partner for sharing you flight here.
Finally a new videoo. Love it
Thank goodness I saw this-was thinking about Swiss ironically also to Dubai but no way.
Thanks a mill Dan-always love your posts
Last year i flew with Swiss from Zurich to Athens return, we left on time which was great. I was lucky i had 3 seats to myself on the flight to Athens.
Another great Video Dan , I just LOVE, watching your videos.
Amazing video as always Dan! Whenever I’m looking for a good review of an airline, my first choice is you.
Just asking, could you make a new updated review on Iberia’s economy class? Last time you flew them was 2 years ago I think, and I’ve heard a lot has changed since the pandemic. Plus, me and my mom are planning to go on Iberia for summer vacation 2024 to Spain, so I would like to see your new opinion on Iberia.
Thank you! I'll see if I can fly Iberia sometime soon🙏
Thanks Dan. An honest, non sell-out, non Sam Chui-esque review. That’s why I subscribe!
I completely agree, my swiss business experiences were similar.
Even though the food is good, on day flights (even 10+h) there is only one warm meal, the second is a mediocre sandwich. (but on night flights there is a breakfast for the 2nd meal)
I avoid the overpriced swiss business fligths when possible
Shade shade shade across the board! 😂 love the sass in your recent videos!
Hi Dan, Long time lurker, first time commenter. I love your videos. You have a great sense of humour. I would love to see you fly LOT Polish Airlines in Business Class and see your comparing it to SWISS, Lufthansa, and SAS
I have been flying SWISS Business Class from Miami to Bangkok on 777’s for 4-5 years. I just hate the cabin seating layouts- preferred Finnair A 350’s much more. Service and food has been ok but not great. This year I paid $6,000 vs. $4,000 last year but I stay in Thailand for 7 months. Lately was looking at Turkish videos : the food choices looked much better, they have mattresses to cover the seats for sleeping and I think they offer free internet. Another option I would like to try is Qatar Q suites. Will not consider SWISS again until I see some real improvements.
$6000. You must be crazy. I am flying premium to South America (Swiss) and paying $1600. That is a bargain.
I was on the same flight back in april - crew, service and f&b was great. Cabin and the seat not so - already outdated and „used“
All airlines are on various cycles - some years ago Swiss Business was way better than most airlines and one of the few where you could lie completely flat. I always slept perfectly in Swiss Business. So now Swiss Business is at the end of their cycle while other airlines already did the upgrading - no big. This is just a matter of life and quite honestly - I can easily live very well with these seats and enjoy the great food and service Swiss offers.
Great work Dan 💯✌
Did BOS-ZRH 2 years ago on the 330. The lounge in ZRH was really nice , feel asleep on one of those zero gravity loungers. The seat was most likely a bit better than 2 years on , but not the best. i was actually told that the foot space is smaller on the throne seat?? The food and service on board was great. Like you I got a bit peckish and they brought me a cold meat sandwich , luck of the draw.
Hah. I love how the a380 was there at your departure “the flight we should have taken” 😂
Literally😂
And here I was excited to go on my first business class flight trip this weekend! I suppose forwarned is forearmed, but that's some extra miles+some cash I used I'll never get back... still, the lie flat/single person in a row might be worthwhile? Or should I be looking into the other side where they alternate?
2:38 nice spotting the cute little baby bus 😊
Your videos are awesome - I especially like their soundtrack! About LX ('SWISS'): I used to be a 'Senator' (LX Gold), frequent on routes from Switzerland to Asia. Until I realized that the treatment you get on EVA Air or China Airlines Economy is about the level of treatment as a LX status customer on their Business. Also 'SWISS' is an entirely German-owned airline, 100% part of LH group. Not wanting to blame it on this but the airline is just a disaster. A shame for our country - they should simply not be allowed to fly our flag. Apologies from Switzerland and kudos to the Taiwanese carriers, at least when travelling East!
loved the video as always
Flew the overnight Swiss flight in business class from Dubai to Zurich is even worse. The night lights are way too bright. They skimp on the food by offering a “bistro menu”. I wanted some soup which was on the menu. It turned out to be powdered and they didn’t mix it properly. There were powdery chunks in the cup!
I’m a XXL shirt. The window seats are the worst biz class on the sky with zero shoulder separation from the airplane wall. I was constantly fighting the wall for shoulder space it was ridiculous.
Last week I got really lucky and got a business class Dubai to London City trip for only £200 ish more than Economy. Was no where near as good as Gulf carriers but for that price... not bad.
Least favourite part was Zurich airport... unnecessarily complicated and whole "get your boarding card validated" to use the WiFi is ridiculous.
Lufthansa lounge in Dubai is really disappointing too, ended up using the Ahlan Lounge (loungekey)
Id agree Zurich airport is not great. I got 10 minutes in the Swiss lounge due to the long time from my previous flight. Flew Swiss 777 from ZHR to LAX, and then their E175 European Business from Manchester.
The 777 was niceish seat was really uncomfortable in bed mode in the throne at 6'4 but 1 meal and a side salad on a 12 1/2 hour flight. At least the crew saw me awake and made me like 3 chocolate ice cream cones and had some left over tea sandwiches from economy.
Funny you should compare it to a Holiday Inn Express. The beds at the Luzern Holiday Inn Express are uncomfortably hard. But the hotel claimed it was normal. They must not use their own products.
the section about the bed killed me 😭😭😭😭
Hey Dan, I agree that Swiss needs to update their Hardware. This is not what Business Class should be like in 2023. I last flew them in Mai and I have to say that the crew did a wonderful job which makes up for the weak seat.
I’m not sure why people say the front “mini-cabin” is the best place to sit in business class on this plane. From my experience, it’s very loud and busy with the bathrooms, the galley, and the flight attendants going back and forth to first class. I far prefer the peace of the seats at the middle and back of the main business cabin.
I had the pleasure of flying with Swiss a few times from EWR-ZRH-PMO. From EWR-ZRH the crew was very friendly and the food was great for economy. Although I thought the IFE was very limited and outdated, the great food, real silverware and actual pillows made up for it. Would definitely fly with them again and can’t wait until they roll out the A350 as they had mentioned would be coming in 2025 I believe.
Was just deciding between a nonstop direct to LAX or a layover with TK but on their 787.. think I made the right call : )
I find swiss crews rush to get their service out as fast as possible, then hide in the galley for the rest of the flight. On a recent trip from miami they didnt come round 1 time after the service. I have also seen the crew totally ignore the call request button on several occasions, this of course is in economy and the majority of customers' opinions are formed there. I onow of several swiss based companies that refuse to use swiss because of bad service. I know some cabin crew from traveling overbthe years and they tell me the new hires are mostly a lot of young girls only interested in free travel to see the world and to make instagram photos... from the service i see and experience its about right!
This is so true 😅 I've flown Y between the US and Europe with Swiss, Lufthansa, and United this year. United wins on all accounts. I regret I was avoiding them for so long.
Yes i agree. Had a terrible experience with boarding staff at Zurich on April Fools Day. Woukd never fly with fhem again! Disgusting experience paid hundreds extra only to be stressed insulted. Never never ever again!
Cahill and Dan?
Must be a good day
Haha you follow both too! I thought the same.
Please review the Virgin Atlantic A350 reverse-herringbone configuration, or even better, the A350-neo! You reviewed Virgin Atlantic Upper Class several years ago, but since then they have two brand new upper class seat configurations that I would love to hear your opinion on. Love the channel Dan! ❤
Thanks - yes time to get VS another review!
What is the app or website you use to show the planes that are lined up on the tarmac?
Looks like flightradar
just fly on the 777 and not the A330, I figured that out just with youtube, pretty simple, Just wait for the new soft product coming soon...things getting better, I think it's still a great great airline. The short haul buy on board menu is just fantastic, the mid and longhaul always were pleasant for me, although like I said, I only tried 777s. Lounge's never did disappoint as well in zurich.
Hey Dan, any difference between the senator & business lounge in Zurich? I’m a star alliance gold flying J from Zurich to Boston. Just looking for less crowded lounge to sit around before our flight . 🙏🏻
In senator lounge, you'll get a complimentary personal lobbyist.
Flew from Tokyo to Zurich by Swiss business. Totally agree with the TC.
I’ve been flying in AVIANCA all my life, flown in the 727s,757s,767s,MD-80, a320 family and they’ve always had individual air vents. I thought those were as standard as the windows shades or the call button. Guess I’m wrong!
I love your reviews you should definitely try edelweiss air (long haul) 🇨🇭 I remember I got metal cutlery in economy! and the food was great. Their business class is a bit better than the Swiss a330 business class.
This can not be… sorry but when was it? 30 years ago?? The food in swiss specialy in Eco is really not good and always the same…
@@user-od9ib2bk5r I am talking about edelweiss not Swiss

Dan, I love you. This video is amazing. Telling the truth!
The Zurich check in is confusing, with poor signage. I love that lounge.
I cannot talk about business, but the Zurich to San Francisco flight I had on coach class was the most uncomfortable experience of my life. I could never imagine that legroom could be this small.
Agreed--I've had better premium economy seats from Europe to CA
I Like your sunglasses at 3:00 - can you send a link?
Tbh the Swiss business in the a330 and a340 is a bit outdated but the 777 experience is completely different and better. One of the best business classes out there. Hopefully the a350 will also deliver
The A340 cabin was updated in 2019 and since then, it is comparable to the B777-300
@@thomasrutishauser7839 I forgot about that, I’ve not flown in the a340s new cabin yet
‘This flight shared the luxury of a holiday inn express’ haha
The greyhound bus seat cracked me up
Gosh, I normally fly Lufthansa business but have a Swiss Business trip coming up iN December. Lets see…
Dan- is it just me or does the Business Class seat not very wide or roomy? It sort of looks like an economy seat with bonus items built around it.
Love your videos.
Flew this exact product ZRH-NRT and back on an A340 in 2015 and it didn’t really thrill even then. Funny bunch, the Swiss
Love the glasses...
Man I was fiending for some good content thanks god
Hey there dan havent watched your vids since a few weeks so I recently saw a post by a german News outlet when youve been trending with this review Funny to see how much reach your review has. Maybe swiss will change up things in the future who knows ;)
I have to totally agree with you. I flew on Swiss business many times and the service and the product is self is just not worth the price. Nevertheless I have to say that Switzerland has another airline that I really like and I would recomend you, Nonstop Dan, to try. Edelweiss Air is in my opinion just fantastic. I flew on their A340 2 times from ZRH-YUL and back. It was a wonderful experience in their business class.
As a Swiss I proudly say that Edelweiss (still a leisure airline) never disaponted since their creation in 1995. Do not expect I do not know what from the far east, it is nothing special but fully ok.
Hi Dan, I enjoy your channel. May I stray off topic and inquire about your sunglasses? Those are cool. Best from California.
Went to NYC with this exact same plane. Had the impression I was flying Air Koryo lmfao.
Great video, Dan! I enjoy your channel so, and I feel you are very trustworthy, so I rely on your advice, and it has served me well.
I'm sorry to plague you, however I'm going to Australia soon and would like some advice on airlines. I have a couple of reasonably priced choices. One would be on Delta, all the way to Sydney on an A350. The other, I would either be flying AA or United, then switch over to Asiana Airlines and fly an A380! I can't recall if you've ever reviewed Asiana before so I'm eager to get your take. Would it be better to fly Delta all the way, or try Asiana?
I hope you ahd Oskar are having a lovely time, wherever you happen to be!❤
Thanks for your kind words! I'd go with Delta in this case. Have a great trip🙌
Have you ever flown Westjet? I only fly westjet and have had exceptional service.
I’d be interested to know your views.
Dan, hard truth about level of service, products and equipment is not negativity. you put comments in "kindly, edged" fashion is delicate enough. Folks watch your vlogs for reason-understand a product without having to live through it to tell about it and to gain another perspective. We avoid the Euro and N America based carriers at "reasonably so" all cost.
Please make a review on the new KLM business class
At first I thought this review was overly negative until I flew in their business class on a transatlantic flight. The food/beverage service was incredibly rushed on an 11 hour flight with no courses and no pre meal beverage service. The seat was uniquely uncomfortable...I actually wound up with a hematoma from sleeping in lay flat and enduring this bar poking in to my side as I tried to sleep...so not only was it a miserable experience but I had a big medical bill to boot!
i can't rmb which plane i was on, but i rmb the aisle seat having this door thing that i can slide out.
The problem with having business and first is that you can’t make the seat too great in business because if you do, people will not see the point in booking first. Delta One on the A359 is just like BA First on the A388, it’s the ground experience that separates the classes and the concept just seems weird to me
Dan, the current state of LX is tightly linked to the recent performance of LH... Swiss should have been much better on her own for sure!
It seems like you had special meal order. Since you have a special they won’t offer you Udon. They were confused because they probably thought you wanted to exchange your special meal for udon, and this is not always possible. Next time you can either remove your special meal order in advance or ask to change your option if possible.
We need more economy class reviews please
As a person who mainly fly with qatar airways it shock me that the business amenity of swiss kit look like the economy amenity kit of my mainly airline
I’m surprised you didn’t find the remote for the tv. It’s there, under the armrest, so you can play games 😊
I flew Swiss business class from Zurich to Singapore in January 2023. Found used socks in my footwell and alerted the crew. All I got was a sigh, a quick sorry, her picking it up… and that was it. Considering we were not long out of a pandemic… won’t be flying with again because cleanliness and hygiene are important.
cry quite
So she picked up the socks AND said sorry. What's the matter? What should you have gotten? A "slower" sorry? Pathetic
@@benediktrs1263 You are angry. He dared to critisize SWISS. Thats a no go.
On my flight from Geneva to NY the food was the best I’ve ever tasted in the air. The rest was sub par. Exactly your experience.
I think you have not much expirence with long haul flights? Because Swiss is much to expensive for what you get… i had also horrible expirence with Swiss.
I have flown SWISS J a few times. The 777 J cabin is way better than the A330. It is in much better shape than the A330, which desperately needs to be upgraded. I also find crews can be very inconsistent. Some are great and you’ll feel well taken care of. Others seem to be just going through the protocols and come across as indifferent.
