We just flew business class to Zürich from SFO and had an excellent experience with Swiss airlines. The food was great. The glasses were always full. No complaints whatsoever. We’re so happy with them we’re getting fly Swiss on the way home.
The runways at ZRH actually have been re-surfaced over the past years, the center used to be concrete and was replaced by asphalt. Nice report, can't wait for the new cabins to be released next year.
Flew SWISS from Ljubjana to Zurich. The one way fare was double all other airlines on one hour trips; about 300 Euros or over $300. All we got was a bottle of water; not even a beverage like on ITA that charge about 150 Euros on one hour flights. Before landing a tiny piece of chocolate. The only positive was that the plane an Airbus 220 was new and clean. In the 1970s in economy you got filet mignon and croquettes poptatatoes that were delicious. And a pear desert.
And now we compare prices inflation corrected. Point is flying is cheap today compared to the 70s. And to be honest a flight from slovenia to zurich isn‘t really the best flight to demand a meal. At this point you are flying in a regional bus in the air.
I fly Swiss often and love their first class, it's the only airline to have first class on all of their long haul planes, and if you liked the senator lounge you should try the first class lounge and experience.
😂 thanks so much its certainly not to scale or perfect detail but its for fun!! It took about a week. Your Chanel will grow rapidly because your a class act!!!
Only flown Swiss once LHR to GRU via ZRH Good experience in Business Class, no complaints at all. This was during the pandemic and ZRH was virtually empty, for the first 2 hours in the lounge (4hr layover) I was the only person there.
I like Swiss...had the pleasure to fly them back in 2010 to US several times when they were brand new...always in C...last time I was on their 330 was last year when I flew to DXB...good review 👍
Great review. I flew Swiss F from ZRH to LAX and it was my most fav experience ever. The E gate lounges (F and senator) were amazing! Just out of curiosity, did u get an offer to upgrade from J to F upon check in? If yes, how much was the upgrade cost ?
That’s awesome… very jealous. We weren’t (given we had booked the trip with United and our first flight was on United metal) but we asked at the gate in ZRH and I believe it was ~$1,500 per person. Might have been worth it if we had time to check out the F lounge… but I didn’t think it would be worth it for just the seat and we probably wouldn’t have gotten our first choices food wise
I used to fly Swiss business regularly pre-pandemic, and as you described, the seats are old and not very comfortable with the air balloon inside as cushion. The amenities on Swiss always have been cheap - like the cheap kits, the cheap pillow, the cheap blanket, the very small portions of food. They also have cut the chocolates down to their own generic brand, whereas before they had other Swiss brands, then downgraded to Lindt, and finally the little red bricks. Swiss manages to cost-cut and somehow brand itself as a premium airline, either because of the misconception about Swissair (which is bankrupt and has nothing to do with the current Swiss Airlines) or association with Switzerland as a rich country. Anyway, this kind of gaslighting is how Swiss manages 13% profit margin.
Hey, since you did a review on Austrian about three months agi could you try one on the new dreamliners when they go on long haul ? Otherwise I love to watch your videos ❤🎉
Thank you AJ and boy would I love to try that Austrian Dreamliner when it arrives. We’ll see if we can find a reasonable fare then potentially a comparison video is in order (old vs new)- will be sure to credit you with the idea if it materializes!
Business class blankes are online wrapped in a small piece of Paper (sustainability reasons) on every Swiss Business flight. The Crew took it off for you prior, so you didnt have to handle waste on your seat. However flying to India is also the reason why you didnt See much Plastik, as it is prohibited by the State of india .
Nope, combination of too little time and knowing the clean feeling wouldn’t last on the next 8 hr flight 😂. I’ll bet the shower experience there is immense though
The Swiss business varies, on the a330 and a340, the business is quite outdated! The 777-300ER on the other hand has a newer business class with more privacy, Swiss will be rolling out a new business in their new a350s coming in 2025
Flew Swiss ZRH to BKK on Boeing 777. Really disappointed in old style seat. Uncomfortable especially when lying flat with lack of space to turn on one's side. Service very good though, especially Thai cabin staff.
It really is a shame given the 777s are less than 10 yrs old and supposed to be their flagship… I think the seats have some modest cosmetic improvements over the A330 though (ie higher res IFE screen)
lol I have no clue on the first question 😂 and on the second one… don’t knock the Tumi, he has had that thing for at least 10 years - those bags are built to last
Great review Peter! I’m also going to be flying on an outdated product - Delta one to Iceland on the old 767-300ER product. But business class is business class so I’m not complaining 😂
Only 88,000 miles one way in Business from Chicago to Mumbai? Now United want about 175,000 miles for a one way award in Business to Europe; 75,000 in economy. It used to be 75,000 in Business. I was able to get 86,000 on Emirates to Milan in Business and the same on Air France. Delta wanted 300,000 one way. The United program now sucks. Delta is the worst. American is better but high fees on British awards. Finnair sometimes have reasonable awards at around 85,000 miles.
The hardware i.e. plane and seat are ancient and will not pay premium. The GF bun is actually good. The catering from US on GF is terrible. Much better from Europe
Over priced and old planes avoid them and Lufthansa like the plague now! Lufthansa customer service is horrendous! I will take BA at LHR over any Lufthansa flight.
What a dinosaur??? You behave like a spoiled child denigrating these old birds. As a spotter I thoroughly enjoy those old lady, since the new era is only about 787 A350…

Nice, new video time! Look forward to this review. Really like your channel.

Oh how times have changed!
Your meal in Business with the meat was like an economy meal in the 70s.
But in the 1970s you would pay a lot more for an economy seat, relatively to today's income. Flying was only for the wealthy.
And now we compare prices inflation corrected.

Nice meeting you on that flight! I was the guy sprawled in the middle two seats
😂
Swiss Is The Best Airlines In Lufthansa Group My Opinion.Great Trip Report

Can you use the first class lounge with platinum amex credit card

ZRH to GRU is a long flight - glad you had some space to yourself
I'm verry happy that the a330-300s are getting a new buisnessclass next year.

Appreciate the perspective- always interesting to hear how the product has evolved from someone who has more direct experience with the airline 👍🏻
Who got Swissair bankrupt. It was that CEO who was not a Swiss born person.
@@AmalfiCoastinItalywhy is it f***ing important if it was a swiss born person or not? This is just racism
Peter , always great to see your videos

Interesting - good to know. I certainly wasn’t worried about cleanliness but it was certainly a contrast from the major US carriers
Great video, as always. You didn't grab a shower in ZRH?
Nope, combination of too little time and knowing the clean feeling wouldn’t last on the next 8 hr flight 😂. I’ll bet the shower experience there is immense though
nice aerial view of ZHR. Good report
Ramekin? and today I learnt a new word.
Hahaha it didn’t become part of my vocabulary until I took a trip with KLM. They love their ramekins

Haha oldie but a goodie, heard Iceland is spectacular have a great trip!!
Informative but the background music is quite distracting.
I live in Switzerland, and I rarely fly Swiss Intercontinental, bc I am not fan of their Economy Class..
Be aware Swiss in not Swiss but Swiss is Lufthansa.
you seriously cut that beautiful mest into small pieces? 😮
I know… not very proper but it’s a tactic I use to slow down my pace of eating, otherwise I’d just probably just inhale the whole piece all at once 😂

Yes we definitely lucked out - getting harder and harder to find good deals
Once in a blue moon I notice connecting flights on Aer Lingus, Swiss, Lot or Brussels at about 80,000 to Europe. But it's rare.
