Finnair (Finnish: Finnair Oyj, Swedish: Finnair Abp) is the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland, with its headquarters in Vantaa on the grounds of Helsinki Airport, its hub. About Airbus A330 (from Wikipedia):
The Airbus A330 is a wide-body aircraft developed and produced by Airbus. Airbus conceived several derivatives of the A300, its first airliner from the mid-1970s. Then the company began development on the A330 twinjet in parallel with the A340 quadjet and launched both designs with their first orders in June 1987. The A330-300, the first variant, took its maiden flight in November 1992 and entered service with Air Inter in January 1994. The slightly shorter A330-200 variant followed in 1998.
The A330 shares its airframe with the early A340 variants, but having two main landing gear legs instead of three, lower weights, and slightly different lengths. Both airliners have fly-by-wire controls as well as a similar glass cockpit to increase the commonality. The A330 was Airbus's first airliner to offer a choice of three engines: the General Electric CF6, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or the Rolls-Royce Trent 700. The A330-300 has a range of 11,750 km or 6,350 nmi with 277 passengers, while the shorter A330-200 can cover 13,450 km or 7,250 nmi with 247 passengers. Other variants include the A330-200F dedicated freighter, the A330 MRTT military tanker, and the ACJ330 corporate jet. The A330 MRTT was proposed as the EADS/Northrop Grumman KC-45 for the US Air Force's KC-X competition, but lost to the Boeing KC-46 in appeal after an initial win.

Helsinki airport is easily one of the best airports I've been to. I love their luggage/security scanning machines. Everything is so smooth. And, on the other hand, we have Stockholm Arlanda :D

I love Finnair, don’t mind at all flying business class from Singapore to any city in Europe. interior is soothing, service is good, food is refreshingly good. Lounge is relaxing. Cheaper than SQ. The most underrated airline.
This past summer I intentionally took Finnair to try this seat as well, was amazing. I built a couple day layover in to explore Helsinki and bring home some blueberry juice! Love Finnair!

I flew in this recently and I loved it. So much space and a full bed. I prefer this over reclining seats as I can sit however I like and again, a full bed! It’s like your own cocoon

I have flown this seat from LHR to HEL , but will try it long halu for the first time at the end of Jan as it is doing the HEL - SIN route. Looking forward to it very much. Unfortuanlety I think the Platinum wing is not open during my layover :(

You can try Finnair's Airlounge business seat on short haul routes too. They have daily widebodies on HEL-LHR route, plus in the coming summer season their HEL-AMS only gets widebodies. But you just need the check the seat maps carefully, their widebody fleet still has 3 different types of cabins.
Yeah I flown that route twice and last time it was back to old Euro style business with economy seats just no one in the middle although the flight was not very busy. First time it was a proper business seat

Dan - you are letting out my little secret. From Australia, Finnair has always been the best value business class to Europe from Australia (code share with oneworld carrier via hkg, sin, bkk). It gives such easy access to locations in Europe, yes with an addition stop but the connection the in HEL is quick it’s really not a problem. Please don’t tell anyone else!!! Love your work

Great video/review. I'm intrigued by these new business class seats and definitely want to try them out. I presume the length from head to toe is similar to reclinging business class seats. Seems to me FinnAir have thought how can we add to passenger experience (a far cry from other airlines who seem to think "what can we take away from passenger experience, still charge as much and get away with it?").

I was really skeptical about the non-reclining but impressed that it does actually turn into a "bed"! I really love how cozy it looks with all the dark fabric. Almost looks like the night sky. Great video, as always!

I actually booked a flight with Qatar and got rebooked to Finnair on ARN-DOH and I didn't prebook a seat but I could choose one of the Premium Economy seats without any charge 😁

Great review! I just flew in this seat type (3L) from Stockholm to Doha and I was mightily impressed, after having been skeptical about it as well. Also agree with everything you said about the service and food quality. I wish Finnair flew to Australia!!
Well you can fly Helsinki-Singapore with Finnair and Singapore-Sydney with Qantas. Warning, the Qantas plane feels so outdated.
Well, now you can fly Finnair (or at least Finnair planes) all the way down under as Finnair will start operating some Qantas flights under a wet lease agreement.

I got to fly this in August last year and 100% agree it’s one of the best business class products out there. I LOVE the food too.

Whether we loved or hated an experience on an airline really can come down to small individual choices, certain services we booked or incidents that happened only to us.
I flew with Finnair last year from Europe to Australia and honestly got a very negative opinion of them. I wanted to book a multi-stop flight, which cannot be done on their website, only by calling them. So I did that and after waiting in line for two hours!!, I could finally talk to someone and book the flight, which took another half hour. Then, weeks later, I causally log into my account to look at my upcoming flight and see that it had been cancelled!! I had received no e-mail about this, no warning, it was pure coincidence that I even found out about it. And of course the booking could not be changed through the website but only by calling them again and waiting in line for another two hours.
So in my case, this experience made me feel like I'm dealing which such a backwards airline.
Had the new seat on my last flight back to the UK. Loved the new pod 👌🏻👌🏻
In Australia I regularly do 2.5 hour regional flights in a Dash-300 an up to 3.5 hours (with one stop but stay on the plane) on a SAAB 340!

I flew these recently from HND-HEL (13hrs) and I have to say it was the best and most comfortable sleep in business I've ever had on any airline. Anyone that knocks them needs to make sure they've tried them first on a long haul before forming an opinion.

I’ve flown it and overall very good with one caveat - when using it as a bed there are two seat belts and neither is in a particularly great position from my perspective if you use them
I agree about that!
I tried this seat last year. I was sceptical before my flight but now I love it. If you treat it like your sofa at home you can find a comfortable position easily enough. Couple it with the quietness of the A350 and I had one of my most comfortable flights.
Sadly, I don’t share the enthusiasm for the Platinum Wing, with its restricted opening hours and very poor service. Nevertheless the furniture is very comfortable and a good place to wait for a plane.

Finnair is a really classy operation and I loved the innovation of this new seat. Helsinki is a joy to transit. SAS are very second rate in comparison to Finnair.
