I like the way how you do your reviews. It's more authentic and more enjoyable to watch compared to other well known reviewers. Keep that good work.
Glad you like them!
@@FlightFormula its all about outsourcing and downgrading their product and most importantly, cutting off flights from Brisbane
Hands down best aviation review RUclipsr I have seen - somehow making business class flying relatable. Keep it up you'll go far!
I think why your videos are great to watch is it feels like we are experiencing it with you as if we are there too. Keep it up!
Love the flow and format of this video, very interesting seeing the inside of these new flights. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks a lot!
Great review, I agree with you: the seat is amazing and comfy!
Love your editing style! I do hope you take a fully finnair operated flight soon!! Absolutely love love love the nordic atmosphere and the catering does not miss
They have Qantas service concept on these Finnair flights, so Qantas catering also
What a great review and I loved the memes, you made me laugh out loud. Greetings from Finland! ☃️
Hey man, I love your videos, keep it up! Don't stop! Your channel has lots of potential
Thanks, will do! Got quite a few videos in the pipeline!
Im doing this is just a few days and im so glad you did this video because i was honestly wondering about all of this
codeshare stuff myself
Showed us the right stuff and answered all the questions I would’ve asked - great vid
Cheers mate!
Your reviews are brilliant mate, brilliant formula - keep it up. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks a ton!
Diptyque is definitely expensive! Fun fact: Qatar has been using their products since 2021 in their lounges and in March 2022 began supplying Diptyque amenity kits in-flight
Ahh, that's pretty cool about Diptyque! I'm going to have to give Qatar a shot just for the amenity kit...
Also the brand of choice for Ritz Carlton’s bathroom toiletries
Great review ! Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Stumbled on your channel by accident. Thank you for providing thoughtful, funny and good information on travelling. I rate your channel.
All of ur vids are absolute superb especially for an avgeek like myself keep it up mahn ;)
Thanks a ton!
Your reports are always so interesting. Well done.
Thank you very much!
Good to get your comprehensive take on this unique venture. I was reading a review of it in Executive Traveller Magazine earlier, and they pick up on many of the points you comment on. They mention the washroom amenities are provided by Finnair, although one would have to wonder why. They describe the IFE as being Qantas content behind Finnair`s user interface. Reviews I`ve read of the Finnair soft product lately suggest due to cost cutting the catering isn`t what is once was. Great review, thank you!
I saw that the executive traveller review came out last week but avoided reading it til I was finished with the edit, thanks for the reminder, I’ll go give it a read!
Greetings from Finland! Nice to see our planes down under.
Hello there!
Great Video, I love ur channel!
Thank you so much!
Jeez that was a very fun 30 minutes.
A tip for QF passengers from Syd to London. Get the Finnair lunchtime flight to Sin as the seat is great for a daylight flight. You then have 4 extra hours to lounge crawl before connecting to QF1.
Enough time to go to T4 CX lounge as well as QF QR and BA.
Pray your luggage makes it😮
You reckon the Cathay lounge is worth the hike?
All Cathay biz lounges are simply top-tier among all oneworld airlines lounges, especially for asian food lovers who prefer some proper rice or noodles, or dim-sum. And the iconic greatest of all time Cathay Delight@@FlightFormula
Btw you can now have Finnair's new business seat all the way SYD-HEL-LHR :) Finnair have A350 on SIN-HEL and also on HEL-LHR, 2x daily on most days. The "Reindeer Route" can be surprisingly fast.
@@mikrokupu flew the a350- lhr-hel-lhr, and it was nice to have a widebody plane for a 3 hour flight each way.
@@mikrokuputhe SIN-HEL is two hours longer that it used to be due the fact that they can no longer fly over Russian airspace due to the invasion of Ukraine. The flight from HEL-LHR is almost 3 hours.
Interesting to see Finnair operating a Qantas flight. Loved the new hard products Finnair has on their widebody aircraft. :)
Indeed!
Enjoyable review. Nice work!
Much appreciated!
The Hard Product is definitely better ! You gotta new subscriber bud ! Keep on🙏🏽
First. Another great video mate, keep it up!
Thanks mate, appreciate it!
Seasons’ Holidays! Fly safe. Cheers.
Great review I liked all your thoughts on different things. That meal looked pretty ordinary for business class
Cheers, yeah it was!
The meal was embarrassing for business class. Quanta’s must be hurting to serve food that cheap.
Flew their A350 business cabin back in August, interesting to see the service under Qantas. I currently feel like this is among the best seats in business, where everything is just laid out so logically, and there's just so much room to get cozy. The IFE is definately better with the Qantas selection though, although the Finnair UI is dope, the selection on Finnair is just lacking.. Love the review
You are so underrated. New sub!
Oh thank you!
@@FlightFormula You're welcome I hope to see you rate Tap Air Portugal some day!
Nice to see you getting some views 💪💪
👍🤟
Love the cut to Celine. Great vid
Thank you!
You could have also accessed the EK lounge which was next to QR. also pretty good quality lounge
Damn , you are right on this! Imma have to visit it next time.
The EK lounge is way better than Qantas or BA, maybe not quite as good as Qatar.
i like your reviews mate
Cheers mate
you on facebook too? fan from NZ bro
Awesome video, mate.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@FlightFormula I was really curious about this FinnAir-Qantas flight and now you covered it 👍
Qantas wifi being subpar truly giving customers the Australian experience lmao
Part way through, but 4 lounges as Qantas gold (and above) will get you access to Emirates and I'm pretty sure there are two Melbourne flights per night from Singapore
Great report, really professionally put together! Thank you! However, you're missing mentioning the best part of the Finnair seat: that surround padding also works as a very effective sound deadener. You really cannot hear anything once you are ensconced into the seat/bed: you're left in your own private world. It really is a brilliant design.
Yeah, good point!
Great video and good job editing.
The meal is very Qantas ex-Asia. They basically do a quick/ abbreviated service to maximise sleep on all those routes.
WiFi wil deoend on their contracts. Finnairs provider mightnt have coverage over the area.
Thanks for the info!
Qantas should have dry leased these aircraft. Instead what they have done is a typical Qantas stitch up. The aircraft use Finnair pilots, but the cabin crew are actually employed by Qantas’ Thai labour hire company and wear Finnair uniforms. The cabin crew are neither paid the Finnair award nor the Qantas International cabin crew award. They are paid less than either of these awards, hence Qantas typical stitch up to avoid employing Australian staff and paying them properly. I am surprised the Australian Pilots and Cabin crew unions agreed to this deal where their members have missed out on jobs with Qantas gaming the system as usual.
100%
It's a short term wet lease, then it transfers to a dry lease afaik
Never thought of how a 'collab' flight would be like. You'd think it would be no different from a 5th freedom flight handled by Finnair but there are many details that show that Qantas does have influence over this deal. It's truly unique.
Yeah, very strange and unique.
Yes, the vile food showed off the Qantas touch nicely.
Finnair is known for their creative deals with other airlines. They also operate flights to DOH from 3 Nordic airports, a joint venture with Qatar Airways. Qatar sells the majority of the seats on these flights, you can say the new Business seat is approved by QR :)
everybody complementing the videos and stuff but mannn this dude have the most attractive voice i've ever heard 😂
thought this was about to be a hate comment, you had me in the first half hahaha
Thanks tho!
What are you???
Just subbed like the videos, what credit card you use?
Solid review mate. Did u get a peek at economy.. Is it 2 on the side I wonder? Was gonna book this run for March but was worried it would not count toward BA tier renewal but the seats look excellent
I like your real and captivating style. As a Finn always craving for natural stuff from the homeland I do prefer Sees products to perfumed Diptyque; which are a really cool brand though, no denial there. I live in Sydney and always fly Finnair back home and feel I am half way there when I step onboard. A biased note but Qantas should have licensed the Marimekko linen too…😉
Thanks! I've just googled the Marimekko, they definitely should have gone with it!
BA are doing a lot of these within Europe as well.
Yeah true! They’re leasing the A320’s right?
9:15 because it's wet lease operation with Finnair's AOC, the operations and safety related things (cabin safety procedures, safety demo) are from Finnair, even the customer service is in accordance with Qantas service. I don't remember Qantas safety demo that well, but generally there could even be some differences for example for the limitations when you can use mobile devices (connected to network) and so on between the operators, so the different safety demo might be technically incorrect (on top of the different business class seat).
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
6:42 - Qantas boarding music was being played 😂
Not Celine Dion making a guest appearance in the quanta’s lounge 😂😂🤎🤎
The qantas x sofi spritz is my favourite but it’s 8% alc.
Extra points for Rufus du sol mention
Ah I love them!
I flew in economy on the Sydney to Singapore leg with FinnAir for Qantas last month and it was so confusing lol. Good flight though
for a 14hr night flight from HKG to HEL we did not get PJs - maybe they changed OR it a feature of the Qantas service
Another entertaining report 😁. 5:30 Really? 😮 I'm no chef, but it looks deep fried (like you'd get an any Westfield food court) rather than char grilled like you'd get in a night market in, say, Singapore or Penang.
I don’t know, I’ve had Penang night market satay and this was as good or better!
The token Qantas Attendant 😂 I’m traveling next year Sydney/Bangkok with Finnair.
amazing video, newly subscribed! what’s the bgm at 4:36?
Very interesting dissertation. I have not come across your channel since before. Just wondering if you don’t mind me asking what your orientation is ? Do you have any association with Qontas?
No association with Qantas!
Hey Simon, thoroughly enjoyed your video!
What do you do when you’re not travelling and making RUclips videos/flight hacking?
Hi Thomas, thanks mate! Ahh I’ve got my own business. (Unrelated to this)
The memes just made my day
Very good video
Thanks!
It’s not a real Finnair flight without Finnair’s famous Blueberry juice , served in a Ultima Thule Glass!
I wouldn’t recommend Finnair’s economy class product- they only give you ONE main meal choice ( well, it’s not really a choice then, unless you order a diabetic meal) along with ONE alcoholic drink throughout your whole flight- anything more has to be paid for as an additional extra!
Ahh yes the blueberry juice, I've heard good things!
Damnit, that IFE crashing is a real problem with Finnair, had it on both my longhaul hel-sin and hnd-hel flights too... hope they fix it at some point
So definitely hit up the qatar lounge up over qantas if flying business?
100%
Hey just wanna ask something
Can we able to access other partner airlines lounges, if we have Qantas business class ticket ?
Yep!
thanks for reply
@@FlightFormula
Funny story. I started the video and saw you were leaving on 10/29 and laughed to myself saying “I left SIN on 10/29” so kept on watching. Fast forward until you walk into the Qatar lounge and boom, saw myself in the background. I was sitting in the bar having a drink before flying back to the US through Doha. I’m the guy in blueish-green over your shoulder while you were having dinner. This video was a treat to run across and seriously made my day. Great to re-experience that amazing lounge. Cheers! 5:25
Hahaha what a coincidence! Did you try the lounge dining?
How tall are you? Just to understand your foot room experience vs others 😊
Like around 185cm, it would probably suit someone much shorter, I didn't find the length an issue though.
Lost it at 18:23 😂😂
20:38 Those games are defenently a finnair thing. Angry Birds is even invented in Finland.
Ahh good to know, it was a very good selection!
Hey what do you think of Qantas partnership with Finnair
A strange but good one!
@@FlightFormula same im flying Finnair Wednesday next week I’ll be on standby
I was on this flight
How funny, I was literally flying on the chair behind you. Totally agree with you, I was very looking forward to this trip, but sadly, it did not exceed my expectations, although the chair was pretty spacious. Great channel BTW!
Hahaha WOW, I remember your face! Hello! What are the odds? Yeah it was definitely a bit of a let down (mostly the Qantas side of things), did you pick this flight specifically to try Finnair?
@@FlightFormula I picked the flight without realising it was a Finnair flight. I was even told there weren’t some options on the menu, which was a bit of a surprise for a business-class experience. Where are you off to next?
Qantas Business class food sucks.
Fire Neil Perry
Choose an airline that gives you value for your money
A very well honest review
It just goes to show how Finnair Business class is no better than Qantas
Great vlog thank you
Can you read my audiobooks for me - for what ever reason your voice is like asmr
Yes but I'll only do Harry Potter 1-5
@@FlightFormula I’m not even mad
This was interesting for a Finnair regular customer, thanks! Yeah the new seat is pretty good, it's so wide and feels like a safe cocoon. Asian cabin crew is a common sight on Finnair flights, their HEL-SIN flights only have Singaporean cabin crew, they have a similar concept on HEL-HKG. You don't get service in Finnish/Swedish (Finland's official languages) on these flights, but it doesn't seem to bother Finns :)
For comparison, here's a Finnair trip report on HEL-JFK (A330), around similar leght than SIN-SYD: ruclips.net/video/jjNDZY2Wu9Q/видео.htmlsi=gWFyeAuGdXwpWiks
Safe cocoon is a good way of describing it!
HEL-SIN and HEL-HKG flights having more non-Finnish staff? That is really interesting and one worth looking out for in my next flight. Maybe more Singaporeans/Hong Kongers flying to Finland than Finnish flying to SG and HK?
@@Moonstone-Redux Finnair cabin crew on HEL-SIN/HKG is 100% outsourced, to cut costs. Finnair business model in Asia is based on Europe-Asia connections, quite a few Finns on these flights, except to Thailand. Before the RUS airspace was closed, Finnair was able to offer shorter routes to Asia via HEL, of course now this advantage has been lost, more or less.
Newer plane. That's the reason why QF leased the Finnair. QF planes are old. They were supposed to start replacing them starting 2023 but due to the pandemic it was pushed to 2025.
And now they are refurbing them…
Funny, all the soft product stuff is way better than Finnair is these days. But the hard product really is a great seat.
Yeah interesting, I didn’t know Finnairs soft product was bad?
@FlightFormula Finnair's soft product is excellent in business class, long haul - these new seats are a game changer and the menus in particular highlight good Nordic flavours.
@@davidmacdougall910 soft product long haul business class is bad. Amenity kit now doesn't have anything in it apart from eye mask and ear plugs. Their food quality and size is constantly shrinking. But the seat and crew are great.
I think those qantas staff on standby before your flight ✈️
Shitzel ?
Looks like it reclines to me matey.
Your mum reclines
Who paid for your flight?
i did lol
Not sure about the whole thing to be honest - interesting enough I guess

All those series are hbo max shows. Hence even the bad ones aka the one with The Weeknd amade the cut. Lol
It's absolutely trash though hahaha

Ok so next you have to fly from sin to hell 👍🏻🥳🤭

@@FlightFormula Not now 😱 Hell is frozen 🥶 during this time of the year 😱
The Finns are not Scandinavian, they are Nordic.
Fair point
Qantas A330's are terrible. I'd almost fly to Sydney first to take this finnair flight.
I've flown Finnair half dozen times, they are fantastic. The IFE is the best I've ever seen. I like how it gives you a really simple line (worm) system to let you know how far through the journey you are, when you'll be fed and when they'll dim the cabin lights for sleep. Far superior than anything else I've had.
Your cute
8:06 name and shame the person with their crusty toes out…
hahaha
Where is the onlyfans? 😂
How do you stay so skinny ? 😂😂
Cool review! May I ask which camera/tool/gadget did you use to film while you were walking around the terminal?
It's a 360 camera mounted on my suitcase!
Not a fan of the camera to be honest.
The meal was a huge disappointment. Even more so since it was business class. I was fed much better in premium economy on American Airlines. Who would have thought American Airlines would be better than Quantas.
That sounds outlandish but I believe you!
Too much expression to be Kimi
hahaha true!
le catering de qantas est vraiment merdique quel honte de servir cela en business class j ai deja fait un vol en first avec qantas tres minable je vois que la business est du meme niveau
I dont know how the Finnair soft product can be worse than that, especially in business class. That sandwich is domestic business class tier, paired with a snack size fruit salad
The domestic business flight I had after had better food tbh!
Yeah, I had the same meal. Neal Perry should be ashamed if that's the quality of the food he offers in his restaurant .
Should have eaten in the Qatar lounge as I did on the way to Helsinki.
Had to stop watching, would have been a decent review if he could stop saying "like" and "literally" every second word.
lol
