This is probably the most fun to listen to tenor solo that I've heard. It's just bursting with good fun ideas, and keeps the long boring scrape runs to a relative minimum.
well, during that he was in blue devils so he was in college and he probably started to play in junior high or started when he was a freshman or sophomore.
monstercat6 Unfortunately I hear it all the time. Like. People think that its magic or something. Nah. You gotta put in the work to get that level. And even when you do get there, there is always something you can learn or improve on.
Call me a hater but I'm not a big fan of this solo. I liked his 2012 solo better because it had more musicality. I'm in no way hindering his skills playing I'm just saying this didn't seem like it was as beautifully executed as his 2012 solo.
***** Yeah, I feel silly critiquing someone so amazingly good, but it would be even more amazing / enjoyable if the chop showcase and musicality were less discrete. It felt like chop showcase , throw in musicality, chop showcase, now look I can do dynamics, back to choptown.
Anything conventional or rudimentary kinda goes out the window during I&e solos. It’s kind of a do whatever you want as long as it’s crazy thing. You typically see more flashy stuff in these solos. But I’m sure Chris drummer has a great understanding of most aspects to drumming including dynamics and technique and basics (etc.) watch some old blue devils videos ‘12-13 where Chris played, and you may find that dynamics are more emphasized
Solid, crisp and probably the best in the world to ever play the tenors
Scrape runs are fun to listen to

I love cameo influence at the end. Candy is such a good song.amazing talent
this seems muuuuch more interesting than the snare solos....
I've watched this countless times, and it was just moaning noticed the riff from candy-cameo at 3:15..

Steven takedas solo was awesome but so was this I don't know which I like better
I love how you ended your piece with "Single Life" by Cameo. I haven't read the comments. Not sure if anyone else picked on that. You're a beast Son!
I thought that was "Candy" by Cameo he ended with

What the heck 2:45-2:50
I think those were cross-fives. Don’t quote me on that cause I don’t march quads but I’m pretty sure.
They’re just triplets with a crossover downbeat. Just way better than pretty much everybody
how long do I have to practice to play like that?
well, during that he was in blue devils so he was in college and he probably started to play in junior high or started when he was a freshman or sophomore.
You practice until you get it. There's no set time for it. You have to put in the effort to get there.
***** Most truth I've heard in a long time.

His name....is Chris Drummer.... he had to!
How well can someone like that play the drums (as in drum set)? Just wondering
It depends on whether or not they work on foot stuff (hi hat/bass drum)
Taste like candyy niceeee
dam your good bro i play drums for my church and i also play the quads for my school marching band
Get his man some proper mics, and record and upload to 60fps!

I do see your point but I mean it's called Too Fast, Too Furious. With a title like that I'd assume it'll be a chop solo
goddamn they dont make tenor solos and tenor drummers like they did before. I think I&E 2014 and 2015 were lacking...
Hi Chris.
........
uh...heh heh...wha?
His face look like KD...
@ Blaine Weems - you're telling me that one of the best quad drummers in the activity doesn't understand elementary dynamics? ok.

is it just me, or is that one big water bottle
And drum set players think they have good hands...
Hmm
What the heck 2:45-2:50
I was expecting a haduken at the end of that
cross 5-olets??? a version of rainbow 5's?
