- This is my very first time to Rochelle Railroad Park. I went on 8/12/2007 and saw alot of cool stuff like UP 1995 (The Chicago and Northwestern Heritage SD70ACe, a long Global 2 to Global 1 Container Train that showed off, UP Basalt elevator train, and a Intermotle train with old BN sd40-2 retaked as BNSF Sd40-2.
This footage is part of the upcoming Trackside with Mike Episode # 2 and # 3 which is about Rochelle RR Park.

I took the Lakeshore Limited out to Chicago and went there today! It was awesome! I saw a lot of trains and should have a video of a UP up in a few days. My brother should have some UP and some BNSF up on his channel too (sticklets87). Nice video! That C&NW engine was cool. Earlier in the day someone said UP's 2002 Saltlake City Olympics engines passed through as well as CSX. The trains don't stop at Rochelle!

I was there the same day ! Awesome to find this after years..
I saw that train heading northbound on the Northwest Line heading up to Janesville today (11/15/2007) at 9:00am. I expect him to return prob on monday or tuesday afternoon and head through rochelle on tues or wed.
That last train was a UP Basalt. It showed up around 4pm. I believe (Not Sure) these cars are modified to put basalt and a new line via elevator that runs under the hoppers to the front control car that shoots it out the front.

yea boxcarFrank this is a very nice place. although it can be a waste of time on some days. i have been there. 1 time when i was there 1 train came through. it wasnt so bad cause i live near there.
