Creed was and still is a favorite of mine, Scott blew his voice out and has finally got it back but can't compete with Myles.

Minus Myles the singer they were Creed. They are an amazing band, phenomenal live. Most genuine human beings you could ever meet. Also this song was written about a conversation between Mark and Myles about “god” and religion. Mark is a believer while Myles is at worst an agnostic and at best an Atheist (like myself) but they are able to have civil discussions about the subject because even tho Mark is a believer in a “god” he doesn’t like nor agree with organized religion. So if you ever take the time to watch a lyric video or just read the lyrics as you listen it makes a lot more sense! GREAT REACTION

Blackbird is one of my favorite tracks from any band. Anyone who has suffered loss of a loved one will get Blackbird a little more. Quite possibly the most powerful emotion invoking song in history...at least for me. Although people suggest live versions, which are Great, I suggest studio version first...
Two side notes....1...the entire Albert Hall concert is available on Bluray/dvd....it is incredible and a must own for music enthusiasts..in part due to the superb orchestra...2.... if you like metal like you said you did...Mark Tremonti has a solo project called "Tremonti ".... it is fantastic musicianship...Not one bad track from Tremonti or Alterbridge!!!!
Came say criminally underrated. In almost every single guitar magazine he’s always featured and in any top guitarist rankings he’s always high. Blackbird was given the best solo ever by guitar world a couple years back. Underrated? No. Anyone who has anything to do with a guitar knows of his greatness. His name should be a household name though. Solo project wrecks faces and makes men weep. Love em

I hate when people’s first experience with Blackbird, is the Wembley version as like you said he was battling bronchitis (that said he did a phenomenal job knowing that) but the entire live at Amsterdam concert is AMAZING, especially because Blackbird has been my favorite album since I first heard it while stationed in Alaska in 2007!

What could be better than having two bands that you love Creed and Alter bridge that are the same band with different singers two incredible different singers. And Creed will be on tour this summer. Saw alter bridge a few years ago at the Met in Philadelphia. Amazing. Wouldn't it be great if Alter bridge opened up for Creed. What a show that would be.

As someone who grew up listening to Creed, I followed the lead guitarist (Mark Tremonti). He was the reason I wanted to play the guitar. When Creed broke up and they found Myles as a singer I was hooked immediately, AB has been my favorite band since. I love that the reason they have not performed this song is because of that High note for Myles, and after he hits it, Mark looks at him with the biggest smile! I love these guys!

Just a FYI this live performance was way better than they’re album version! I’ve seen them once omg they are so good live!! So happy to be from where the lead singer Myles Kennedy calls his hometown or at least he went to High school here!

When AB performed with the orchestra, they only got to play each song ONCE before they performed live, which says a lot about their musicianship and the musicianship of the orchestra too!
The band knew it was their night. They’re looking at each other smiling. Myles had a huge grin on his face coming off the the second chorus because he knew they were in the pocket. Such a wonderful feeling.

You should definitely do Blackbird live from Amsterdam, it’s a phenomenal performance of a absolutely great song. Stay away from the performance at Wembley, Myles was sick that night and his voice was way off.

This is absolutely THE BAND. They are as humble as they are good. One of my favorite live performances. Mark slays on vocals and then Myles kills that high note!!!! Flip and Scott just slay on bass and drums

The song is about faith and was inspired by a conversation that Myles Kennedy had with a friend earlier in the year. The song's lyrics may also be interpreted as targeting an imbalance in conscious decisions, symbolizing depression, and uncertainty about the future. Which makes the song really a great Duo Vocalist Song.
I always have to watch Myles’ hand shake at the end of that song. A LOT of effort went into that high note. He seems so relieved during the rest of the show to have gotten that over with.

The lead guitarist(Not the main singer, Myles) his name is Mark Tremonti, he has his own band named Tremonti, he is an amazing guitarist and vocalist. Alter Bridge used to go under the name of Creed. They dropped Scott Stapp(lead singer) and picked up Myles Kennedy. He can hit every octave on the scale and sound good.

It is a B side track and man the emotion! This song is up there on the Epic charts! This and Blackbird got me through my deployment in Iraq. I'm sorry this request isn't on Patreon, but this IS a must listen to (along with Blackbird of course! Lol)

Seeing the reaction to THAT note makes every "Words Darker..." reaction video priceless! Alter Bridge has been my favorite band since 2008 when I heard their Blackbird album for the first time. "Watch Over You" is the Celebrity Rehab song. It's also on Blackbird. There are so many powerful tracks in their discography. "I Know It Hurts" is a personal favorite of mine from the same album "Words Darker" appears on! I'd also highly recommend the guitarist's solo band, Tremonti! "Dust" is brilliant.
I seen them with Wolfgang Van Halen's Mammoth. What a show! what a show!

The band minus the lead singer were from creed. The guitarist is mark tremonti has his own solo stuff called Tremonti.

I still remember the first time I heard these boys. It was on some late night music TV show back in 2004 and they played the video for "Open Your Eyes" from the first album, it was instant love! Just seen them live for the third time about a week ago and they were as incredible as ever! They really are a very special band and the night was all the more significant because there were times over the last couple of years when I thought I'd never be going to another gig ever again.
When this woman heard Myles Kennedy hit that high note I swear she about crapped herself 🤣.. so incredible

What draws me in? Everything. And yes their awesome in concert. Saw them just weeks before they shut everything down from covid.
Mark doesn't do vocals on every song but there a few where he spotlights like this one. Waters Rising and Forever Falling are others. His vocal work has come a long way since Creed. Definitely recommend checking out his band Tremonti.
I was vutted when I missed out on seeing this performance but got to see them without the orchestra the very next day in Edinburgh. Unfortunately my ticket was right in the Gods at the Usher Hall.

I will also say in My 60 years that are absolutely the best and are best live. If you do like metal really need to check out the lead guitarist Mark Tremonti’s solo band Tremonti. Will blow you away also! And way to go on your road to recovery. That is phenomenal. You need check out Joe Nester.

i've seen Alter Bridge 3 times, and got the oppertunity to meet the band a few years ago, they kick balls on stage but they are so humble and down to earth off stage.. Think it is save to say Myles Kennedy is the Robert Plant/Freddie Mercury of the 21st Century.. saw him 5 times live (twice with Slash) he is fucking amazing.. Mark Tremonti is also a great singer and an amazing songwriter and guitar player. and Brian and Scott are so talented aswell.. AB is just perfection

I’d like to throw my vote for Alter Bridge Blackbird, either studio or Live in AMSTERDAM! DO NOT DO WEMBLEY!! The song Blackbird was written for a very close friend of Myles Kennedy the lead singer, who passed away from cancer as they were writing the album/song. I have loved this song since the very first note the first time I heard it and that was before losing my own mother to undiagnosed pancreatic cancer. She finally found out about it and less then a month later she was dead. I had been gone for years because I had joined the military but by that point I was discharged as a fully disabled combat vet, she died in 2018 at the age of 60. I got back home about 12 hrs before she died, she didn’t know who I was or anything (which I knew would happen because it’s not the first person I’ve lost from cancer) anyways sorry for the long comment. I consider Blackbird the “Stairway To Heaven” of my generation (I’m 35 so I wasn’t alive when it was originally released) also you should check out Mark Tremonti’s solo band Tremonti which is much more “metal” and influenced by Metallica and Mark’s love of metal!
