    If you would rather keep your mulch instead of going to rock, the best thing to do is put a fresh layer down and then spray it with mulch glue. Yes, they actually make it spray it really good. It dries clear so your mulch stays the same color but it won't move. I have three dogs and the reason why I got it is because every time they ran through it it went everywhere. I've had it on there for 2 years now and it hasn't gone anywhere. Try mulch glue and see if that doesn't work better for you.
    Then all you have to do is use a leaf blower or a light rake to pull your pine needles off and mulch won't be disturbed

      Hello Krista, thank you so much. I never thought of using glue on the side bed mulch. I’m so glad I mentioned it and you provided such an awesome suggestion. I haven’t refreshed my mulch this year so I am definitely going to do it. 👊🏾

    That is really great that your ferns came back! I’m glad you didn’t throw them out. Excited to see how they come back.❤

    I love it. The pathway is gorgeous. I would've cut the flowers off of the hosta also. It really does look cleaner that way.

    Hi there....Sandi from Southern Ontario...Zone 6b...have spent the last couple of years creating a shade garden, lots of hostas, ferns, astilbes, ground covers. We've recently had a new patio and deck built and now, I'm planning in my head and on paper a whole new plan for that area of the garden which is mostly sun, which is challenging. There are far more options but I want to keep it simple. Your garden is beautiful! ❤️🌿🪴🇨🇦

      Hello Sandi, thanks so much for sharing where you are watching from and your zone.
      Awesome! I have been learning more and more about shade gardening and I love it too.
      I totally understand, what plants are you considering? Have a blessed day

      @@daphnesoutdoorliving6146 oh gosh, I've just started thinking about the sun garden and the list of plants I can use seem endless! lol I'd like to keep it simple but I'm considering flanking the deck on either side with Japanese maples so when having meals on the deck, it feels like you're in the woods almost. I'm slowly composing a list of favourite plants to go from there. Grasses, blue fescue, hydrangeas, Wichita blue juniper. I probably won't start until next year so I have some time to draw things out, scroll through Pinterest and gardening magazines for inspiration, sit back and dream!

      Hello there, thank you so much. I definitely plan on adding more and more to my side beds. Originally they were so overgrown so I cleared everything out so now I’m slow adding things that I like back. I added 3 astilbe last year and they are lovely but I may move the location. Thank you so much! 👊🏾

    Hello I'm Penny from Hampton Va and I stumbled across your video the other day and love everything. I'm going to take a page out your book and do things in 15-20 minutes increments because I be over doing it. I love your Pathway, but I can't find that video how you layed it, do you mind sharing the link? I have one similar going from my patio to my vegetable garden. I got flagstone and gravel in between it, but after 2 years, the weeds and grass have overtaken it. I would love to have what you have in between your Pathway that's why I loved to see how you did yours. Also, your hostas are absolutely amazing. .

      Thank you. My pathway and all my hardscape was also here when we purchased our home. The flagstones are set in a concrete base. Have a blessed week ahead

    I have many projects to do, mainly painting our wooden porch which has post & spindles $ gingerbread-like trim. The trouble is that every pc. is painted red, white & blue. Love it, but, a lot of work. I never planted Creeping Jenny in the ground, but, it's growing in a big spot. I have 9 flower gardens which keeps me busy, but, I injured my knee in March, very painful. Just got my results from my MRI I have a meniscus root tear, Baker's cyst, and a stress fracture in the tibia. My ortho says to stay off it for 4 to 6 wks. Yeah, right! If not I may have to have a knee replacement. No way!

      @daphnesoutdoorliving6146  6 месяцев назад

      Hello Estelle, oh no, you have to take it easy, rest and heal. I’m sure the porch will be your first project that you will accomplish once you are better.
      I planted the creeping Jenny before I knew how much to would creep. 🤣😂
      Sending blessings to you!
