    For what I understand about the no dig method, you still have to cut around the plants/flowers/bushes for the roots to get to the soil. I also had the same problems with my Hydrangea not blooming until I add soil acidifier. They love acid soil. Your bistro set look absolutely amazing, that color was a great choice.

    • @daphnesoutdoorliving6146

      I’ve started to see buds so I think my plant will bloom this year. 😊 was your plant older too?It’s funny because every other year I always got such beautiful blooms but nothing last year.
      Have a blessed weekend

    I did the no dig with cardboard. I did holds just for the plants so they would have soil contact. Then put then mulch all around plants the rest of cardboard border. ❤

      @@daphnesoutdoorliving6146 Excellent question. I don’t wait any amount of time because I have a layout in mind. So I’m just waiting to find the right color or texture for the empty space. About 9 months ago my front area was (8) 4 x 4 shrubs. I had them removed so I had a clean slate. I love designing my space. Have fun in your garden! 🪴🌺💐🌸

    Hey Daphne, Happy Monday mama. Yes to embracing colour. The bistro set actually looks cute. My hydrangea is finally catching herself since i took her back outside. She really loved the indoors, but I don't want it indoors. I hope it revives and blooms this year. I thought you were supposed to plant the plants, then add the no-dig method around it to smutter the grassy area. 🤷🏾‍♀️🪴 Great job on your bistro set. I can imagine how beautiful they space will be when all the flowers are in bloom. Tfs. ☺️💐💐💐

      Hello Lateisha, happy Monday. Thanks, I have been enjoying it so much. Is your hydrangea not hearty in your zone?
      I hope so too.
      True no dig means no digging at all most interchange cardboard mulch sheeting which is applied after you plant but both are time savers. I’ve done the sheeting method a lot.
      Thank you so much and have a blessed day.

    I did the no dig in a couple of spots at my home. My interpretation of the no dig was for the bed only. I still planted the flowers I used. I’ve used both cardboard and lawn cover. And both are holding out well however, the cardboard was free.

    HELLO!!! So I've tried to cardboard and after about a year of so it just dissolves into the ground causing weeds every where. I've also tried regular plastics like trash bags which worked better but some pieces somehow tore up. So now I use black sheeting which has lasted over 3 years and counting! Definitely my go to.

    • @daphnesoutdoorliving6146
      @daphnesoutdoorliving6146  3 месяца назад +1

      Hello Kesha, oh no, I’ve learned too that the cardboard method is only meant as a temporary step more to prevent you from having to remove either weeds or grass but yes the cardboard breaks down but in the process your soil is improved. I’ve learned that the covering of the soil and how the cardboard breaks down is a whole science process (so complicated) 😂 I think you are using landscape fabric now which should be long lasting. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a blessed day
