      I'm not sure if you've done a video on Rosacea on the different things you could use, but if you haven't, I would greatly appreciate it.
      I just started dealing with it on my cheeks (not super bad, like the kind with pimples), just the kind that's more sensative. I've been trying to find what I should do now, because it's been depressing for me. I'm going to be 40 within the year, so I really don't want my skin to go down hill. I've always taken really good care of it (and used sunscreen like crazy because skin cancer runs in my family), but now I just feel a bit defeated, because of the slight rosacea. Any tips or tricks would be great (like face wash, serums, and a moisturizer).
      I hope you see this.
      I'm going to try to find a video that you've done, but maybe you could link one if you already did one.
      Thank you!

    If you enjoyed, consider sharing- or at least *make the like button turn BLUE!* 🦋 Comment with what video we should react to next!! 💕 Edit- OH NO! A beautiful butterfly just brought up in the comments that I may have guessed the wrong mask - perhaps the one she is using is the rose gold one - I am so grateful for this beautiful butterfly to bring that up!
    It probably deserves a reaction, but for now the explanation is still similar - it’s actually a much more drying mask with clay, better for acne prone skin, however it’s still way too drying for her face - if she’s not applying a moisturizer! It is also like washing her face twice, meaning that overall, she is probably accidentally overstripping her skin. Overall it is a good mask, I would recommend it and it has some beneficial ingredients, but you don’t have to spend this amount of money as there are other brands on the market that has inexpensive options with similar ingredients out there!
    Thank you for bringing this up!!

      Hi there :) I'm 23 and struggled with cystic acne for about ten years between 11 - 21yrs old. My mom also never had acne and had no clue how to help! I tried every system/product/solution you could imagine and nothing worked. Eventually, I changed my diet (for health reasons) to exclude dairy and meats that have added hormones and my skin cleared and has stayed clear! Cystic acne can be due to hormone imbalance, and consuming meat and animal products from animals who have been treated with hormones (and opting for hormone free instead) can lead to our bodies having artificially increased hormone levels. Excluding items from her diet that have added hormones may help her body return to its natural hormone levels and clear up much of the hormonal acne. As a teen she will prob get hormonal acne from time to time anyway, but food COULD be the root cause if she has consistent cystic acne. It may not work for her, but I figured I'd share just in case! Anything to save someone else from having to suffer from years of terrible acne like I did lol

    I didn't start using moisturizer until my late twenties either. Didn't think I needed them bc of oily skin. I used a lot of stridex and clearsil too..really harsh stuff. Fast forward 15 years and my skin is still a mess and now hypersensitive to fragrance and other ingredients. I started using the normal products. I'm really hoping it helps.
    Thanks for the video.

      @BuddleDuddle 4 года назад +7

      Hey!!! I also had really oily, acne-prone skin from my early teens all the way into my late teens. I also didn't use sunscreen or moisturizer because I thought I only needed to dry the shit out of my skin until my acne disappeared. I tried benzoyl peroxide products, salicylic acid, exfoliating masks, toners, etc. Nothing worked and it made my skin SUPER sensitive too. What ended up helping me was cutting down to a simple routine. A hydrating cream cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen for a few weeks. Eventually, I also got on birth control (which I used for other reasons, not for the potential skin benefits but I am sure it helped with that too) and with the simple routine my skin healed. Then I added actives. My acne started diminishing. From one oily-skinned person to another, it does get better. Esp when you start by treating your skin gently and paying attention to its reactions. I hope you heal and that you get the skin you dream of 💕💕💕
      Edit: spelling error

    • @Peaceful-Sheep
      @Peaceful-Sheep 4 года назад +1

      @sh
      Sorry for the late reply..I just saw your question. I wouldn't use stridex bc it's very drying and harsh. When you keep stripping your skin of oil, your skin will actually produce more oil. That oil combined with flaky damaged skin will make acne worse. It's a vicious cycle. Gentle cleanser and a good moisturizer will help balance your skin but it may take some time to see improvement. I use cerave cleanser for oily skin and the daily moisturizer, and Diferin for acne at night.
      Hope this helps.

    I’m 25 and until earlier this week all I ever used was just face wash. Not sunscreen I’m not a serum or moisturizer. There is so much consumer confusion so I just did the bare minimum lol 🤦‍♀️

      Remember that everyone’s skin is different, what works for you may not work for others, I do agree that we live in consumerism culture but for example for me, I have dry skin and I’m also white so that means I HAVE to use moisturizer and sunscreen cause of premature aging 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@Azulccervantes8 I think that everyone should be using moisturizer and sunscreen if they want to avoid premature aging and have healthy skin...

    Learning about azelaic acid was life changing for me. I can't use salicylic acid or sulfur, so I generally just had to deal with breakouts. Thankfully I'm not actually acne prone and just deal with hormonal breakouts. I wish it was more common in American skincare lines.

    I felt that moisturiser issue. Back then I would only use this really harsh Neutrogena face wash and nothing else on my skin. I completely destroyed my skin barrier and had sooo dry but oily skin at the same time. I’d literally come out of the shower only having had water on my face and my skin would be so flaky and dry! I started using gentle products, a couple of months ago and currently I’m also using the The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc Serum + a moisturiser with hyaluronic acid and my skin has changed so much! By also avoiding dairy (gives me those cystic pimples) my skin is at it’s clearest since a long time. Now I can come out of the shower with normal, smooth skin :))

    I have acne prone skin with a bit of rosacea so my skin is very sensitive. The only thing that I have managed to use is the microfibre cloths that eventually dried and hurt my skin. I then discovered simple makeup wipes and always cleanse after, but it’s still bothers me that I’m using wipes. Can anyone please tell me an alternative product that will remove my makeup and will not break me out, cause irritation or clogging of pores. I’m scared to use oily products like balms, oil cleaners etc. Help ☹️

    What are your thoughts on true soaps that are made up of fats that when mixed with a strong alkali produce "salt" through a chemical reaction called saponification. I use true soaps for my face and body is it better to use this then all these extra moisturizers and face washing products from stores

    • @elissadinell
      @elissadinell 4 года назад

      Cold processed soaps are more alkaline due to the lye used in making it. That may cause irritation to the face, which is slightly acidic, and strip away the skin's natural barrier. A pH balancing toner can help bring the skin back to the acidic side of the scale. Or you can use bar soap that is specifically formulated to be used on the face that has a pH that's close to the skin.

    • @lomein222
      @lomein222 4 года назад +1

      Persephone I use the true soaps in the form of bar soap Im pretty sure you cant make true soaps in liquid form. All soaps including bar soaps are alkaline if it was acidic it wouldn’t be considered soap since soaps are bases. I know skin is more acidic so I’ll definitely consider the ph toner but skin is usually good at reverting to its natural PH quickly so idk. But true soaps also contain glycerin which traps moisture into skin helping the skins natural barrier. Bigger companies and commercial soaps usually extract glycerin out of their soaps and cleansers etc and then additionally placing glycerin in moisturizers and lotions making it a very profitable business. But glycerin in true soaps should be enough moisture for your skin .

    • @lomein222
      @lomein222 4 года назад

      Persephone also sunscreen is also an acidic product range of 5-7 so it’s just better to use a sunscreen then waste money on extra stuff like a toner

    Hey Cass. Do you mind expounding on what your career entails as a medical aesthetician in a video, if you’re up for it? I’m so interested to hear about it! A relative went to a Caribbean med school for a degree in aesthetic dermatology (or something of the sort). I’m wondering if it’s the same for you.
