A sentiment I think a lot of people overlook when someone says that water helps your skin: If you're drinking all of this water, you're drinking less sugary drinks/things that COULD actually contribute to poor skin health. Maybe water doesn't directly clear your skin, but perhaps indirectly it has an effect.
Well in that case the advice should be more specific to don't drink sugary drinks, not just drink water. It's like how many people eat a bit of carrot sticks or pickles or worse french fries on the side while they eat their usual heaps of mcdonalds and say they ate vegetables according to the school nutritionist'a advice to eat more vegetable.
I am not sure but I am not a scientist so treat this as an anecdote. I'm sugar addict looove sweet thins and for health reasons I had to drink 2l of water every day for few days which is hella lot for me. I didnt give up on sugar👀🔥 My face after that looked more plump and just better (I have acne). Maybe in ma particular case water does something
@@Coffeegirl739 If 2liters of water is alot for you then your results were probably just your bodys response to actually getting enough water for the first time 😅
@@karabathesorceress6923 2 liters *is* a lot. If you're drink more than 2 liters of *just* water without electrolytes and the carbs needed to metabolize and utilize the hydration, you're just causing yourself to be more dehydrated.
Hello Cassandra can you please react to Camilla Cabellos ( Vogue) skin care routine? She said a lot of good things . ( watch it trough) And also Sydney Sweenies evening ( newer routine) it is SOOO good and I want you to obsess over her routine!!!
Thanks for continuously reminding us that acne is ok and does not define us. You have helped me so much. As a 35 year old that still gets breakouts I am finally learning to embrace it and love my skin for protecting me. Also, pimples are like the ultimate anti-aging hack!
I just freaked out when you said Redwood City, CA - thats my hometown.. LOL WELL I was born and raised there but now I live in the East Bay...not sure why I didn't know you were "local" lol
"Cay Skin did this to me" So not only do their products LOOK like vomit, they literally make your skin vomit too?! Say no more! Thank you for your sacrifice! You're awesome. 💖👍🏼
I was so tempted to buy Sturm.... I've used SK2 for years now and I'm at a point where I thought "why does good skincare have to be a kidney and a leg" so I'm glad I found you Kassandra ❤️ and you have reeled me back...
I agree about the water not really helping with acne. I quit drinking all sugary drinks about 3 years ago. I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and the rest of the day is nothing but water and it has made no changes in my breakouts 😢 which sucks!! Cassandra I wish you would talk about breakouts in older women. I thought my breakouts would be gone in my 40’s and I’m getting worse breakouts then I did when I was a teenager. I’m like wth 🤦🏻♀️ I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t remember my mom or dad ever getting any breakouts. I’m getting cystic acne and I’ve never had that in my life!! It’s so depressing to be getting acne at my age!!
I’m not an esthetician or anything, but as far as I know some breakouts are hormonal, and others are bacterial? Maybe you need to ask your derm for specific treatments for that!
If you’re getting cystic acne then that’s an indication that your acne is hormonal. I personally wouldn’t go straight for Accutane. Most dermatologists will want you to exhaust all other options before even attempting to prescribe it to you. If you’re not impartial to oral medication, I would make an appointment with a dermatologist and inquire about spironolactone or doxycycline. If you’re looking for something topical then Retin-A would be the best choice.
We need Tatcha Dewy Cream dupes! (I never even considered buying Tatcha…until someone gave me their purple rice sample set a couple weeks ago. Send help, the moisturizer hype was too real!)
I have normal dry skin but have days where it's drier than other days, I never have like dry patches flaky skin or anything I'm just someone who's skin needs a lil extra moisture. I tried the Tatcha Rice Wash and Dewy Cream I just ordered the Rice Wash in the 8.1oz and once the Dewy Cream is gone I'll be getting the gratitude size of it! The powder exfoliant is on my wishlist, $68 but it will last me a long time I can already tell bc I would only need to exfoliate once a week or once every 2 weeks.
I use the Tatcha Dewy Night Cream and Water Cream for day and have been hoping it would be mentioned/covered in a video 'cause I'd like to find a less expensive option. I'm so happy to see it here.
I couldn't imagine paying $300 USD for a Hyaluronic Acid serum. I pay $8.80 CAD for Marine Hyaluronics from TO and it's been a saving grace for my combo-dry sometimes dehydrated skin. (I chose the MHA over the HA because I dont like TO's water-based serum textures.) I first purchased it when I was experiencing tightness in my temples and jawline from using Salicylic Acid products even though I was moisturized to the heavens and my face was smooth as a baby's bum. My Hyaluronic Acid serum of choice, for less than $9, is my one **true staple** that I simply can't go without. And talk about plump! My skin is noticeably and visibly bouncier and healthier looking... Which I thought was impossible until I started using it. And guess what? I'm sure it works just as well as the $300 one.
I'm SO glad you did this video! There are products like LaMer, SK-II and also like the HA she used in the video that I will NEVER buy bc of price BUT. With that being said, my current skincare routine is the Tatcha Rice Wash and Tatcha Dewy Cream I actually just restocked my Rice Wash, in the biggest size this time and when it's time to restock the Dewy Cream its absolutely worth it to me to grab the gratitude size in that as well. I have normal dry skin, leaning more towards dry, not dry dry flaky dry and I don't have dry patches but more along the lines of my skin overall just needs some extra love in the moisturizer department and Tatcha does that for me! Back to the topic of hyaluronic acid actually drying your skin back out is resonating with me. Before Tatcha, I was using Glow Recipe I started with just their Plum Plump hyaluronic serum and matching Plum Plump hyaluronic moisturizer and over the course of 3 months into my skincare journey Glow Recipe as a brand and their marketing tactics had roped me into more, more, more ,more and more of their products until I was using 6 steps in my routine ALONE. They give no clear instructions on how to introduce everything slowly, no disclaimer saying you don't need all of their products to have a good routine more like you need all of their products to have THE routine. They don't distinguish between what products are good for which skin type I was using products for both dry skin and oily or combo skin- every product I had of theirs ALL contained BHA AHA and hyaluronic acid. My skin barrier was RUINED and I didn't know because I was only 4 months into my skincare journey. I switched to Tatcha, it repaired my skin barrier and keeps my skin doing well.
Yes, definitely overpriced. The Sturm shit is insane. 🥴 I have tried Tatcha and really enjoyed it but couldn't repurchase because of the price! That was before I found your channel and am slowly become a skintellectual. 🦋 My major crimes to my skin were using too many products(...I'm a product hoar🐽) and using hyaluronic acid improperly causing peeling even on my lips! 🤦♀️
Yeah if your super rich like her what’s wrong with wasting a couple hundred dollars even tho she could get 20 dollar products that has all the same ingredients but yeah I’m poor I stick to my 14.99 cerave moisturizer cuz I’m broke
I want to say thank you for recommending Isntree!!!! I have very dry skin and never did well with other HA products BUT isntree's HA serum has been absolutely wonderful! Zero dryness and flaking! It absorbs like a dream and leaves my skin feeling soft like a glazed donut ❤

I'm obsessed with sunscreen, and wanted to put a product on your radar. I have really sensitive skin, and react poorly to avobenzone, and also to - gasp, yes - niacinamide (which is in EVERYTHING, God help me). Kinship Probiotic sunscreen has been fantastic for me. It's all mineral, has 22% zinc oxide, and makes you look glowy.
i didn't like the idea of tachta's dewy skin cream being $70 too, but i've tried dupes with similar ingredients , i don't know if it's how they formulate it but none of them have the same feel and texture of the dewy skin cream.
That’s kinda the problem I’ve had with a lot of skincare RUclipsrs, an ingredients list won’t tell you everything about a product formulation says so much as well. That’s why I value opinions from both people like Cassandra who educate you on ingredients and etc but also people like Tati or other influencers who actually give you their opinion on the effects or results the products have on their skin after trying them, even though they don’t know much about ingredients.
If I had those I will have fallen alseep while studying. Speaking of which I did not get any sleep for 36 + hours for finals. Black tea, coffee milk and vitamins keep me alive.

Guuuurl ! I love super goop , but the Glow screen was a huge no for me ! It’s definitely not for light skin tone , it literally looked like Cay Skin , no joke ! I had to throw it out a couple days ago , I was thinking on using it as a body highlighter , but guuuurl ….. when I squeezed out the product , it all came out through a different hole! The bottle had a huge gash right next to the squeeze tip . I really love love super goop , but just not the Glow one !

Cassandra, I have been binge watching your videos and I love you! I would love to see the below: Beauty Pie, ordinary and affordable skin care must haves! primarily for reddness, fine lines on the eyes and acne scars (or any scarring) and Your Hoily grails.
Hi Cassie!! You told us once your father is from Argentina, and I'm always hoping you would come to Buenos Aires and visit your beautiful butterflies here too!! Please let us know if you're coming!! And I wanted to tell you that there is an Argentinian moisturizer (Vitamidermus) which is amazing for any type of skin, kinda like the big CeraVe jarr, but cruelty free and with urea. It has save my skin
i love her outlook on skincare and her routine, but i agree. the products are so overpriced and there aren’t any i truly would be willing to pay for. i love that you always offer affordable friendly options for those of us who don’t make a celebrity salary 🥰
Why are all the Vogue skincare run through so EXORBITANT! Don’t they ever have anyone who doesn’t look like they’re being heavily sponsored by Vogue advertisers?
id love it if you would make a video on a skincare routine WITHOUT coconut or coconut derivatives or tree nuts. im allergic to both and have had such a hard time finding products that will not irritate my skin. would also love it if you could also include a body wash/body chemical exfoliator as ive been searching for over a week and have found nothing free of coconut so far.
Try Aquaphor Cleansing Baby Wash and Shampoo. This is a very gentle unscented body wash that I've used successfully for years on my dry, sensitive skin. It doesn't exfoliate, but do you really need to exfoliate? I believe Cassandra has addressed over exfoliation on some of her videos. Eucerin makes a similar body wash labeled as for babies that I've also used, but Aquaphor is cheaper where I live. FYI, you may have to look for these products in the baby products sections of stores; they may not be stocked with the adult body wash.
@@20thcenturyrelic thanks for the suggestions! sadly aquaphor’s baby wash has cocamidopropyl betaine which is one of the most well known allergens of coconut. ive taken my chances with it before and always end up itchy and irritated. most products have this ingredient and if not, its either another derivative, coconut oil, or a tree nut of some kind. eucerin’s baby wash has the same ingredient. i did manage to find an article that specified a couple potentially safe coconut derivatives that showed the most tolerance, so ill be testing out two cleansers i found with them. kinda worried but i do have one more body wash (only four ingredients) on the backburner in case these dont work out. and i only plan to use chemical exfoliants, specifically phas, mandelic, or lactic acid since my skin is typically dry and sensitive
Ive been drinking water consistently, may not help acne but does benefit my body. But I do get bored of the taste of water sometimes I gotta make tea to give me a extra boost of flavor.
She seems like such a sweet girl! I just don’t think it’s best for her fans to think they literally need to be spending close to $1,000 for their skincare routine; and that’s where Cassandra walks in! Thank you so much for making videos like this, they really do help in guiding people that just because your favourite celebrity is using something doesn’t necessarily mean you have to buy it too! This video was amazing! Keep it up Cassandra!!! 😘😘
I think we all need to drink some electrolyte water. Or coconut milk or water. They're really hydrating and better absorbed based on my personal experience.
Always wanted to know your views on Peter Thomas Roth products. Its expensiveeeee.... but it works, for me at least. It cleared my acne, when nobody could back then. And some of their moisturizer are amazing too. Just wondering if I could get a cheaper alternatives. Love your vids btw
Make sure you always apply a good moisturizer over the hyaluronic acid. The HA grabs moisture and if the air isn’t super humid, it will grab the moisture from your skin. I learned this from a friend I’ve never met…thanks, Cassie! ☮️😘❤️❤️
Tatcha Rice Wash & Dewy Skin Cream saved my skin during winter 2020. I just transitioned from Tatcha now that I’m using Tret, the Dewy Skin Cream doesn’t work well with Tret in my beginning stage. The products I’m using now fit into my Tret routine and I’ll keep on with them. I just opened my last Rice Wash (yes I would stock up) and that will be the last.
I know right ? You are supposed to use sunscreen frequently n in way more quantity then a moisturizer. If you take the amount used per day in consideration . The moisturizer is still economic then sunscreen.
Agree. Affordable for me and you might mean totally different things, but if you're tooting the affordable horn as a content creator, take that into account girl.
I feel you!! But at least generally sunscreens do tend to be better the more you pay for it. But you're right, 46 dollars for a small bottle of sunscreen is expensive!
While I know are ski is probably the last organ to get water, water helps are body detox, keeps are kidneys clean ,helps our bodies run better, annd by doing all this it definitely helps our skin to look better!
I got the Tatcha sampler from Sephora for my birthday gift. I've honestly really enjoyed The Rice Wash but I'm having difficulty justifying the price. Can anyone reccomend an affordable dupe? TIA 💕💕💕
I feel like necks and hands and stuff like that age faster because there’s more movement there and the skin there has to flex more often than the skin on our faces or our bodies
I don't think saying that what you eat/drink comes out on your skin is very good, it makes people blame you for having acne when usually what you're eating, although it can have an effect, is almost never the actual cause of it. I'm sure that's not what you meant but really a lot of people think that way, which is why having acne for me was so hard, because I just felt like everyone was thinking that it's my own fault, so I thought I would mention it
I think the reason why most celebrities have overpriced products or skincare routines is because they have sk much money that they don't know where to spend that and personally it kinda makes sense what they have expensive products cause if I had millions I, A wouldnt be running out of that soon at at and B I would have no idea where to spend that money. So it makes sense to a certain level.
Most tacha products are not worth it in my opinion. I do love the Essence I decant it into a dropper bottle and it lasts ages. My favorite “toner” I also love the Oil Cleanser the only step in my routine I use fragrance, smells amazing.
Wait, why did people convince you to not watch it? I haven't seen it, but I was gonna subscribe to the streaming network just to watch it.. is it not worth it?
$300 for any skincare product is ridiculous! This pricing is for Dr. Sturm's name on the bottle! I'm sure she's a great doctor, but just no. And I wouldn't buy the Tatcha Dewy Skin product either. It has fragrance and alcohol in it, and I agree with Cassandra that the ingredients don't justify the price. I also have a feeling that I might react to the gold in the product if I used it regularly.

Did you really just say "a little goes a long way" about sunscreen? Sorry but no, that supergoop price is not acceptable if you actually use it daily and reapply and do not have Euphoria actress money 😅
Sunscreen is all about wearing enough and reapplying which requires a lot of products so you are so right. At best the expensive ones which are sweat resistant are the ones which allows you to use a little less during summer but you still have to reapply. 50ml is soo small.
@@msk-qp6fn Where I live most affordable sunscreens are also water resistant so I can't imagine ever spending that much on a 50 ml, like I know the US has some problems with elegant formulas but it can't be THAT bad 😭
@@morgianasartre6709 You're lucky, but in South Korea sunscreens are priced pretty high compared to other products such as toners and moisturizers. American sunscreen prices are actually reasonable. Maybe not all of them but generally I say American sunscreens are priced more reasonably.
Nature Republic and Isntree both have hyaluronic acid serums and import and custom fees and all that increased the price but it's still not as outrageous as the dr strum hyaluronic acid serum. Or even la roche posay's. There's even elizabecca's hyaluronic acid serum and it's at least cruelty free as far as I know and it's pretty affordable. Jesus christ how is something as basic as hyaluronic acid serum this expensive? At least her routine is simple and uses good products...even if they seem a little overpriced.
You are absolutely so incredible, Cassandra ! Much love from Asheville, NC Muah !!
Pain makes us the strong women and men we become! I'm so sorry for what you experienced, but without your past, you might not have ended up in a position to help so many people! We love you!
Cassandra, I have been binge watching your videos and I love you! I would love to see the below:
Beauty Pie, ordinary and affordable skin care must haves! primarily for reddness, fine lines on the eyes and acne scars (or any scarring) and Your Hoily grails.
Can’t wait for your Tatcha video!
Waiting for this Tatcha review
Im excited for the tatcha reveiw. The tatcha dewy skin cream made me breakout and I have dry skin and am not prone to breakouts.
Me too I got a comfy and I LOVE it. I wear it almost all the time wen I am at home.
LOL I am not sure a little goes a long way is a good way to describe a sunscreen.
I agree.
A little goes a few days would be more accurate
I was super confused by that statement too. I’m thinking she misspoke. She’s a big advocate for SPF
I ALSO got a tatcha mini of the moisturizer and honestly it does smell freaking amazing but I would never pay full price for the full size!!
i love her outlook on skincare and her routine, but i agree. the products are so overpriced and there aren’t any i truly would be willing to pay for. i love that you always offer affordable friendly options for those of us who don’t make a celebrity salary 🥰
Hey Cassandra! Is it possible if you can do a review of Dr Barbara Storm products? Not sure if you done a video of that or not.
Why are all the Vogue skincare run through so EXORBITANT! Don’t they ever have anyone who doesn’t look like they’re being heavily sponsored by Vogue advertisers?
Wait i noticed a lot ads from Vogue US.
Cassandra you should make a video about how much these ingredients cost avaragely. Like how much actually is a bottle.
You go girl
Pat McGrath Labs , divine skin, rose 001 the essence. LOL what a name, I just saw this released and would love to see a video about it.
Looking forward to the matcha on Tatcha!
Love Euphoria, definitely worth watching!
id love it if you would make a video on a skincare routine WITHOUT coconut or coconut derivatives or tree nuts. im allergic to both and have had such a hard time finding products that will not irritate my skin. would also love it if you could also include a body wash/body chemical exfoliator as ive been searching for over a week and have found nothing free of coconut so far.
@@templar. I'm so sorry. I didn't know cocamidopropyl betaine was from coconut. I hope you find something that works.
@@templar. You might want to try the Free and Clear body wash. The ingredients list does 'not' include cocamidopropyl betaine!
Yes euphoria is a must watch
i would recommend watching euphoria since i feel like the positives out way the negatives
I think we all need to drink some electrolyte water. Or coconut milk or water. They're really hydrating and better absorbed based on my personal experience.
Hey Cass! Can we see some vids about Typology & Beauty Pie? Would like to know what you think! 😘
Always wanted to know your views on Peter Thomas Roth products. Its expensiveeeee.... but it works, for me at least. It cleared my acne, when nobody could back then. And some of their moisturizer are amazing too. Just wondering if I could get a cheaper alternatives. Love your vids btw
I tried using hyaluronic acid during the winter on my dry skin and it made it so much work it started peeling off.
Perhaps you were using too much, I made that mistake at first
Make sure you always apply a good moisturizer over the hyaluronic acid.
I don't get how Cassandra thinks $70 is outrageous for a moisturizer but $46 is perfectly fine for a sunscreen???
Sunscreen is preventing cancer. Worth the investment
I got pure cosmetic sweet almond oil for 0,99€ and I'm on my second bottle because I love it.
Cass you should do a video after you try tatcha :D
Although I don’t believe you need to spend so much on good skincare….her comments about sunscreen, water, and exercise are absolutely true!
What goes around does indeed come around, wise bird.
"Or stopping yourself from buying every product"...I feel attacked 😶
While I know are ski is probably the last organ to get water, water helps are body detox, keeps are kidneys clean ,helps our bodies run better, annd by doing all this it definitely helps our skin to look better!
I got the Tatcha sampler from Sephora for my birthday gift. I've honestly really enjoyed The Rice Wash but I'm having difficulty justifying the price. Can anyone reccomend an affordable dupe? TIA 💕💕💕
Cassandra. Do you have any recomendations for normal dehydrated skin thats sensitive to fragrance and hylaronic acid available in Europe😭😭
Can you please do a video on Koko Rose Beauty? The brand makes a lot of claims and I just want to know how accurate the claims are.
If you want some glow...with glitter!🤣
Could you do Elizabeth Olsen skincare routine.
Can you please try youth bomb from beauty pie. I have it but I'd love to know your opinion on it. Xx
Hello guys! I have recently moved to UK and I was watching Cassandra's channel in India as well. But, I do not know many RUclipsrs in UK specially for hair care. I need some recommendations specially for hair fall. Can you please recommend some good RUclipsrs who make genuine content. Thanks 😊
Your should watch also strom Reid look just like my cousin for real
Zendaya's role in euphoria just making me anxious for some reason, I finished 1st season but I've no strength to start 2nd season because of zendaya's maniac behavior at the end of 1st season
Cassandra please clc sorns routine on her RUclips chanel love uu
Does anyone else do their skincare routine and hope they would make cassandra proud?😂
Did I hear wrong or did you just say a little goes a long way when talking about the sunscreen?
Cass you are so fucking stunning jesus christ
What do you think about tree of life serums?
Can you do a review of the Cosrx advanced 92 all in one snail cream?
i like glow sunscreen too but it makes me look like a tin man
Hello
Nature Republic and Isntree both have hyaluronic acid serums and import and custom fees and all that increased the price but it's still not as outrageous as the dr strum hyaluronic acid serum. Or even la roche posay's. There's even elizabecca's hyaluronic acid serum and it's at least cruelty free as far as I know and it's pretty affordable. Jesus christ how is something as basic as hyaluronic acid serum this expensive?
At least her routine is simple and uses good products...even if they seem a little overpriced. At least she can afford it.
Stick to The Ordinary or Inkey List. They're cheap and work
@@simplypaul8681 Don't you think I would if I could? I am not living in the States despite using english, you know. The ordinary s very hard to find to begin with and it' about three times the price in the states due to being imported. It's easier to find La Roche Posay here and their products work too.
sunscreen? a little goes a long way???? what cassandra
