    A sentiment I think a lot of people overlook when someone says that water helps your skin: If you're drinking all of this water, you're drinking less sugary drinks/things that COULD actually contribute to poor skin health. Maybe water doesn't directly clear your skin, but perhaps indirectly it has an effect.

    • @msk-qp6fn
      @msk-qp6fn 2 года назад +8

      Well in that case the advice should be more specific to don't drink sugary drinks, not just drink water.
      It's like how many people eat a bit of carrot sticks or pickles or worse french fries on the side while they eat their usual heaps of mcdonalds and say they ate vegetables according to the school nutritionist'a advice to eat more vegetable.

      I am not sure but I am not a scientist so treat this as an anecdote. I'm sugar addict looove sweet thins and for health reasons I had to drink 2l of water every day for few days which is hella lot for me. I agree about the water not really helping with acne. I quit drinking all sugary drinks about 3 years ago. I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and the rest of the day is nothing but water and it has made no changes in my breakouts 😢 which sucks!! Cassandra I wish you would talk about breakouts in older women. I thought my breakouts would be gone in my 40’s and I’m getting worse breakouts then I did when I was a teenager. I’m like wth 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t remember my mom or dad ever getting any breakouts. I’m getting cystic acne and I’ve never had that in my life!! It’s so depressing to be getting acne at my age!!

      @chelsea8082 2 года назад +5

      If you’re getting cystic acne then that’s an indication that your acne is hormonal. I personally wouldn’t go straight for Accutane. Most dermatologists will want you to exhaust all other options before even attempting to prescribe it to you. If you’re not impartial to oral medication, I would make an appointment with a dermatologist and inquire about spironolactone or doxycycline. If you’re looking for something topical then Retin-A would be the best choice.

I tried the Tatcha Rice Wash and Dewy Cream I just ordered the Rice Wash in the 8.1oz and once the Dewy Cream is gone I'll be getting the gratitude size of it! The powder exfoliant is on my wishlist, $68 but it will last me a long time I can already tell bc I would only need to exfoliate once a week or once every 2 weeks.

    I couldn't imagine paying $300 USD for a Hyaluronic Acid serum.
    I pay $8.80 CAD for Marine Hyaluronics from TO and it's been a saving grace for my combo-dry sometimes dehydrated skin.
    (I chose the MHA over the HA because I dont like TO's water-based serum textures.)
    I first purchased it when I was experiencing tightness in my temples and jawline from using Salicylic Acid products even though I was moisturized to the heavens and my face was smooth as a baby's bum.
    My Hyaluronic Acid serum of choice, for less than $9, is my one **true staple** that I simply can't go without. And talk about plump! My skin is noticeably and visibly bouncier and healthier looking... Which I thought was impossible until I started using it.
    And guess what? I'm sure it works just as well as the $300 one.

  • @thatstreaminbdoee.7985
    @thatstreaminbdoee.7985 2 года назад +2

    I'm SO glad you did this video! There are products like LaMer, SK-II and also like the HA she used in the video that I will NEVER buy bc of price BUT. With that being said, my current skincare routine is the Tatcha Rice Wash and Tatcha Dewy Cream I actually just restocked my Rice Wash, in the biggest size this time and when it's time to restock the Dewy Cream its absolutely worth it to me to grab the gratitude size in that as well.
    I have normal dry skin, leaning more towards dry, not dry dry flaky dry and I don't have dry patches but more along the lines of my skin overall just needs some extra love in the moisturizer department and Tatcha does that for me!
    Back to the topic of hyaluronic acid actually drying your skin back out is resonating with me. Before Tatcha, I was using Glow Recipe I started with just their Plum Plump hyaluronic serum and matching Plum Plump hyaluronic moisturizer and over the course of 3 months into my skincare journey Glow Recipe as a brand and their marketing tactics had roped me into more, more, more ,more and more of their products until I was using 6 steps in my routine ALONE. They give no clear instructions on how to introduce everything slowly, no disclaimer saying you don't need all of their products to have a good routine more like you need all of their products to have THE routine. They don't distinguish between what products are good for which skin type I was using products for both dry skin and oily or combo skin- every product I had of theirs ALL contained BHA AHA and hyaluronic acid. My skin barrier was RUINED and I didn't know because I was only 4 months into my skincare journey.
    I switched to Tatcha, it repaired my skin barrier and keeps my skin doing well.

That’s why I value opinions from both people like Cassandra who educate you on ingredients and etc but also people like Tati or other influencers who actually give you their opinion on the effects or results the products have on their skin after trying them, even though they don’t know much about ingredients.

      Try Aquaphor Cleansing Baby Wash and Shampoo. This is a very gentle unscented body wash that I've used successfully for years on my dry, sensitive skin. It doesn't exfoliate, but do you really need to exfoliate? I believe Cassandra has addressed over exfoliation on some of her videos.
      Eucerin makes a similar body wash labeled as for babies that I've also used, but Aquaphor is cheaper where I live.

      I know right ? You are supposed to use sunscreen frequently n in way more quantity then a moisturizer. If you take the amount used per day in consideration . The moisturizer is still economic then sunscreen.

    I don't think saying that what you eat/drink comes out on your skin is very good, it makes people blame you for having acne when usually what you're eating, although it can have an effect, is almost never the actual cause of it. I'm sure that's not what you meant but really a lot of people think that way, which is why having acne for me was so hard, because I just felt like everyone was thinking that it's my own fault, so I thought I would mention it

    I think the reason why most celebrities have overpriced products or skincare routines is because they have sk much money that they don't know where to spend that and personally it kinda makes sense what they have expensive products cause if I had millions I, A wouldnt be running out of that soon at at and B I would have no idea where to spend that money. So it makes sense to a certain level.

    Most tacha products are not worth it in my opinion. I do love the Essence I decant it into a dropper bottle and it lasts ages. My favorite “toner” I also love the Oil Cleanser the only step in my routine I use fragrance, smells amazing.

    $300 for any skincare product is ridiculous! This pricing is for Dr. Sturm's name on the bottle! I'm sure she's a great doctor, but just no.
    And I wouldn't buy the Tatcha Dewy Skin product either. It has fragrance and alcohol in it, and I agree with Cassandra that the ingredients don't justify the price.
    I also have a feeling that I might react to the gold in the product if I used it regularly.

    • @msk-qp6fn

      Sunscreen is all about wearing enough and reapplying which requires a lot of products so you are so right. At best the expensive ones which are sweat resistant are the ones which allows you to use a little less during summer but you still have to reapply. 50ml is soo small.

    • @morgianasartre6709
      @morgianasartre6709 2 года назад

      @@msk-qp6fn Where I live most affordable sunscreens are also water resistant so I can't imagine ever spending that much on a 50 ml, like I know the US has some problems with elegant formulas but it can't be THAT bad 😭

    • @msk-qp6fn
      @msk-qp6fn 2 года назад

      @@morgianasartre6709 You're lucky, but in South Korea sunscreens are priced pretty high compared to other products such as toners and moisturizers. American sunscreen prices are actually reasonable. Maybe not all of them but generally I say American sunscreens are priced more reasonably.

    Nature Republic and Isntree both have hyaluronic acid serums and import and custom fees and all that increased the price but it's still not as outrageous as the dr strum hyaluronic acid serum. Or even la roche posay's. There's even elizabecca's hyaluronic acid serum and it's at least cruelty free as far as I know and it's pretty affordable. Jesus christ how is something as basic as hyaluronic acid serum this expensive?
    At least her routine is simple and uses good products...even if they seem a little overpriced. At least she can afford it.
