Cassandra Bankson Cassandra, I have a question that I’ve been looking for an answer for, and asking every skincare content creator I can find, and I haven’t found anyone who knows (or has answered) 🤞🏻. I have a connective tissue disorder, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility type, specifically, but there are 13 different types, all rare). The disease affects the collagen in the body, in every system and organ, so I have many doctors and spend all of my time and money on appointments trying to gain better quality of life. I can’t afford a dermatologist, but I have one question I cannot find the answer to: if my collagen is faulty, how do I care for my skin?? There’s so many products that are based around collagen and boosting collagen production, but mine is “broken”, so it isn’t as stretchy as it should be. For example, my joints dislocate constantly, and as that happens my ligaments and tendons become even looser (they are already very loose, hence the dislocating constantly), instead on bouncing back. Do I still use ingredients to focus on building that collagen? And would you ever do a video for us EDS peeps? There’s actually a lot of us, despite the lack of awareness and doctors who know what it is, and I know it would be a first to have some answers on
this topic!
You forgot to put some scrappers you recommend, in the description box. Could you please link some??? Im really interested in them
@@lexylex8976 Here's the Skin Scrubber Tina is using from Amazon. Unfortunately, it's currently unavailable. www.amazon.com/dp/B07TWRQ84L/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_r15FEbCM3FQD6
Hi Cassandra, I cannot seem to find the skin scrubber tool recommandation you said you would be listing ?
Cassandra Bankson hi, great video!! Thx for all ur skin care advice, really working for me. Would like to know what’s ur take on the ziip nanocurrent device?
some people in the comments saying cassandra is being mean, wtf where is she being mean? she is just critizising her routine in a respectful manner. i really can't see where she's mean or disrespectful. i love cassandra's approach to skincare and how honest she is!
You have to remember, in this day and age, critique = mean....
These days, everyone gets a “gold star”, for just existing.
Critique people on anything and they’ll see it as being mean, and cruel.
I guess the part where she says that she tries not to judge other people for what they eat "even if it goes against morals and values." It was kind of a passive aggressive jab towards people who aren't vegan. As if eating meat means you are immoral or something.
As wise men said: we would rather be honest than polite
No sorry. Shes fake as fuck
Jennifer Betero respectful!? Really?!
I just love how she keeps saying "just 3 products" then introduces another one 😂😂
right? at first I was like this video is surely a joke? April fools? I can't eve
I guess she means steps “cleansing” would be one product. And then she uses like 5 products just to cleanse lol
It's hard for me to trust a person who can't count to 3...
I love how she says she used to suffer from cosmetic confusion. I think she *still* suffers from it
How is she not breaking out??? Everything she put on her skin stayed ON HER SKIN😩
I cant believe or understand why she isnt rinsing her face just to “save” water but then using a million other products to rinse her skin from her initial cleansers, which is more water used to produce those products, so shes just using it in another way instead of coming from her tab its coming from the products so she isnt saving water in any way. Then also to add to it, she doesnt cleanse her skin properly cause shes using micellar water to get rid of the inital cleansers, which contain surfactants thats shes leaving on the skin, not rinsing off, which are properly the reason why her skin is super dry and oily 😫... mind blown.... 😐
And on top of that she's just producing more waste from the packaging those products come in. This logic is like saying you're trying to use less water, by only using plastic bottles of water...god bless her
talks about "overdoing it" as she overdoes it, lmfao
Cassandra, you actually touched on a very interesting topic: skin _nutrition_ . What kind of supplements do you recommend for better/younger skin?
how did you write the word nutrition in italics?
test
Damn
@choccy Yeah, but I guess some supplements, like collagen, are going to be naturally deficient as you grow older. I was just hoping she'd tells us a bit about what supplement brands she approves of.
@@Camila-hv7ve easy, you just add _these_ and voilá!
I am so anxious about everything that's going on in the world right now, and just want you to know that your smiling face and warm personality really helps to lift my spirits. While we are in lockdown, I will be eagerly awaiting your videos :)
Stay safe! (Have been watching you for years, but have only just hit the notification bell.) xxxxxxxxxx
Love and appreciate you so much. I know that the situation right now is really overwhelming. From what’s happening to the media to everything else it’s going on, But I am so happy to hear that this channel is a breath of fresh air and a smile for you! I hope to keep it that way. Thank you for being here and a part of this community!!
Cassandra Bankson True today I was having a hard time to sleep! Being stressed out and everything hence the migraine! But watching your videos (IDK why but thank God) helped me out!!
Sooo I just learnt at the age of 26 after being fighting against my black heads since I was like 15 that I don't have black heads I have sEbAcEaS FiLLaMeNtS and of course the products I've used didn't work at all now I know why. Thank u you really discovered me today a whole new reality I am learning so much in this quarantine thanks to you I am impressed
What products do you use now for SF? I just learned that I have it instead of blackheads 😅
yo wtffff same !
Learning!
I was so mad when I learned this!!! Not a single dermatologist has said that to me and I’ve been ruining my skin with peel off masks for NOTHING
@@marj6168 1
What I've learnt from this video is that for years I tought I had blackheads but I actually have sebaceous filaments. Wow. I now have to see if Dr dray has a video about sebaceous filaments.
I know this has NOTHING to do with this video...But I am SINCERELY grateful for you and your videos. I'm 42 with cystic/adult acne. I've been breaking out my entire life. My teenage kids have nicer skin than I do. Just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart to the top of my clogged pores. I recently ordered The Ordinary products you suggested and I bought a big ol' Thing of Dr. Bronners tea tree soap. Before this, everything broke me out amd I have tried EVERYTHING on the market.Between you and Hyram...I think I'm finally gonna have a decent skin routine. So...again...Thank you beautiful Cassandra. You make this world a better place. xxoo
I like how she is trying go save water but is more wasteful with all this PACKAGED water. Think of all the plastics involved in the bottle water essentially. Think of all the shipping involved too 🙄🙄
Okay .... But are you any better ..... , you're coming at her and I'm sure that you have plastic packaged products too ......., so.....🙄
Edit: You're honestly just jealous and its not pretty honey .
Also I'm not saying its good to have plastic packaged things but honestly there is barely any non palstic packaged skin products
I neglected to mention the intelligence and eloquence in which you translate Latin into an easily understandable and relatable way is astounding. Plus you are just down right fun and who doesn't love fun!
It always amazes me how people think they’re experts and give out tutorials on things that they’ve really just started using, or things they’ve heard from other people, but they themselves haven’t done extensive research on, or haven’t checked with doctors on. As a side note I find it very interesting how people are so adamant that you be super gentle with your face and only pat it with your ring fingers, never rub, and never use makeup wipes cause they’re way too “rough” on your skin, but then they go and get Botox injections, or micro needling, or do those acid treatments that basically burn the top layer of skin off, or a thousand other things that are apparently beneficial but still definitely not gentle. Your skin can obviously handle a lot of crap, and rubbing in a moisturizer or using a makeup wipe isn’t going to hurt your skin. You can’t have it both ways is all.
she is actually not giving tutorials or trying to "teach
", She is just saying what she does.
To be fair, there is a certain irony to a comment that says that people who are not experts are making claims about what works with skin care and then follow that up with a claim about being gentle with your skin and then doing non gentle things when you don’t really know which things cause long-term consequences and which don’t.
This is not a "confused consumer", but a vain, bigheaded (and not blackheaded) consumer. Enriched with tones of fixation (and not hydration).
I love all of your videos, how you explain things on a molecular level is just sooo awesome. I have been having so many problems with my skin but through following your advice and suggestions, my skin has been GLOWING.
OMG you are about to hit one million congratulations 💜
I love learning about everything you breakdown! Science and Beauty! I freakin love it!
I know im a month late but literally can we all apriciate her for linking other beauty youtubers in the description?
Thank you Cassandra . You're educating me.. I suffered from acne breakouts before but because of your videos,my face becomes clear..
I love how you review this stuff! You are being professional and nice, not being like "uhmmm nooo girl, wth are you talking about"!
I thinks she wasn't trying hard to cleanse her face, she was trying hard to make us buy all of that products 😂
I love watching your skincare reactions and they are the favourite part of my self isolation. ❤
I don't quite often comment, however, I do think you're the most intelligent and informed skin expert on here. So much science to back up what you're saying. Really has helped me understand my skin and hopefully finally sort out my problems and have ordered a new regime thanks to your advice!
Its happened before, so just in case you watch this and think you were too harsh, you weren't. This was a mess
I love everything is science based with Cassandra. Also I like when she’s sassy
Can I just say what a refreshing take on beauty and skin care stance you have and share with the world. You are so positive and uplifting. Even when you may disagree with choices or procedures, you always seem to balance the opposing views with something beautiful and kind. Thank you for this method of influencing. I appreciate you. The world needs more influencers who carry this depth of compassion and consideration. I shall call you Lion Heart. 🦁 ❤️. Again, thank you.
I watch your videos every day on my way to work in the morning. And even though I’m not where I want to be on my skin journey, I’m enjoying learning about my body more and how it works. I’ve taken your recommendations and I’ve purchased some ordinary products to try for my acne treatments. I’ve really Learned a lot about vitamins, antioxidants, AHAs/bHAs, and skin science I love it .
OMG YOU HIT ONE MILLION!! I’ve been watching you since 2012, I’m so proud of you!!! ♥️♥️♥️
I ❤️Cassandra so much! She is smart, funny, and explains everything in a way that it totally makes sense to me. I’m a science nerd and I dig her videos!
Would love to hear what makes a good skin scrubber based off Hz, etc.
Also THANK YOU! Drives me nuts when people are using micro needling tools at home without proper knowledge or professional advice.
Great Information! Luv these types of videos. Thank you ❤
Ive been thinking about getting a skin scraper for a while, im so glad you like them and recommend them but i didn't see a link for one that you recommend. Thank you! ive been binge watching your videos 🤣
I just found your channel and love how you explain everything on a biological level!
Hi Be-you-tiful butterfly!! Love your videos. I'm so excited that soon you're gonna hit the million mark!! You DESERVE it girly. Stay blessed. Stay safe. Love you.
What is this women doing?? 😂😂
Cleansing complex is a 3 in 1 cleanser! You don’t need all those products at all!
ammets yess she’s obviously beautiful and smart but the cleansing was a bit of a disaster. Oh well, we learn by making mistakes LOL! I hope that you and your skin care routine are doing well and thank you for being here!
Ada Ada sure but genetics play a huge part too
I am so happy I found your videos. I am trying to do as much research on the brand The Ordinary before buying it, with everything being closed right now. Also with you being a medical esthetician, I feel so much better. Thank you for all your videos, I am hooked on them. I have learned so much from you!!!
You are so good at explaining things!!
Yay!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 You've reached 1 million subscribers!!!! Congratulations!!! 🤗🤗🎊🎊
Love your videos, and truly appreciate your knowledge and enthusiasm. 🙂🙂
Just subscribed :) your infectiously likeable .thanks for all the work your doing for all us skin novices blindly trying to figure out skincare . Big up from ireland 🇮🇪
I love watching your videos! I learn so much! I feel like I’m in class but I actually like what I’m learning
Btw she has done tonnes of procedures on her face to maintain it. Also being Asian, genetics play a huge part.
skincare can’t prevent you from looking old lol
Naomi it can. At least until a certain age. Exfoliating, accelerates cell turnover and boosts collagen production as can other ingredients in your skin care. Moisturizing can plump up the skin and temporarily fill in those fine lines and wrinkles. At a certain point though, you’d just have to get Botox/fillers if you aren’t blessed genetically. But skincare can definitely help.
Velle Yeah I guess but she still looks old lol
Naomi Well true. For most people, no product or procedure can conceal ones true age. She has tight, glowy skin, tighter than women her age, but she can’t pass for 25. I guessed over 4O. 45-46.
She actally doesn't look too 'maintained' at all. Rather typical of midlife Asian women who have avoided the sun their whole life and haven't smoked, or become fat and gotten extra chins and jowls and flab around their jaws. Looking great in middle age is less genetics, more the fact that Asian women typically are taught from childhood to NEVER sunbathe, tan and to protect their skin from the sun. They use high factor sunscreens as daily practice from an early age, and cover their skin to avoid it rather than exposing it. Getting darker is a huge no-no all over Asia and Chinese diaspora are no different. I lived in Sinagpore in two complexes with swimming pools and you never saw a single ethnic Chinese resident use those pools until it was dark, to avoid getting darker. Westerners used it in the sun and in the evenings, Chinese only came out at night, in the pitch dark to swim. Pure sun avoidance is drummed into them. Anyway, she looks great, but not like she's half her age. You can clearly see the normal signs of gravity on her face. She doesn't look filled or majorly botoxed either. I guessed her at mid-forties, and then looked up her real age - she's 48.
HI, Kassandra thanks for all of this useful information, really liked it!! please a bonus video will be lovely!
Holy shit, I never thought a reaction video would be the answer to my biggest skincare question; You mentioned sebaceous filaments, which I'd never heard of before, and I looked them up - What I'd thought were blackheads and large pores were actually these! Thank you *so* much Cassandra.
Tina: "Remember, I'm Chinese! I love anything free!"
Me: I mean, I'm Hungarian, but #totesrelatable 😂
New to your channel! I’m so glad I found you! I’m learning so much. Thank you for what you do.
Omg I just noticed you are the girl from the acne coverage video I watched years ago! Omg I’m so happy for you omg omg 😘😘😘
I love how you explain everything using physiology
Her skin is just PERFECT
I appreciate these critiques. It is helpful to get different perspectives.
Thank you so much Cassandra!!! I’ve always thought I have blackheads but it turns out I don’t!!! Finally I can get the right treatment
I just love watching her reaction as the video proceeds 😂😂
Where are those skin scrubber recommendations, help a girl out
tuka mousa Amazon Hon 😊
I looked on amazon myself for that exact brand it’s unavailable! If anyone knows of another brand that’s just as good please let me know!
Skarlett Violyn I got that, and looked through her amazon storefront but didn’t see any. Cassandra said she would link some of her recommended ones, but I think she forgot to
I think she forgo however I found one on amazon that looked pretty similar and it was £26.99 as I’m uk. Hope that helps or you find one 😊
tuka mousa look for one for multiple modes like ion +/- and EMS as then you want a high amount of vibrations - 30k ideally
Cassandra, I really enjoy your reviews, they are such a fun. Thank you! It's much better than a good Netflix series!!!
You’re so entertaining and I learn so much through your videos
Hi Cass how are you ? Hope your doing well I'm bored out of my mind but your videos always cheer me up ! Stay safe 🙏
She doesnt know anything about skincare she doesnt even know how to clean her face but she is selling 200 dollars magical toner this is DISGUSTING
I absolutely love how critical you are, you are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and explain things so well. I just love your personality so much! If people think you're mean, they are honestly waaayy too sensitive.
U look so confident and comfortable in front of the camera... well of course I are beautiful so why wouldn't you be.. i love your vids!!!
Thank you for your scientific, evidence-based approach to skin care!!
You are so close to a million subscribers! CONGRATS! 💕
Omg Congrats on 1 million subscribers Cassandra!
Cassandra, you are a pleasure to watch. Funny and charming.
Would love if you could do a video on body skincare. Backne is my nemesis!
I was waiting for your review of her skincare routine!
Hey!! I’ve been trying EVERYTHING to get rid of the purple under my eyes for years. Could you make a video on how or what products would be best for that?!
Thank you! Love all your videos
I would be VERY interested in this! Im 1/8th indian so tan really well.. but the dark circles.. sheesh! Please Cassandra xoxox
Megan Summers I’m 100% Indian so I’d really love it 😂😂😂
There's honestly not too much that can be done about it because it's due to the blood vessel being visible through the thin undereye skin. I believe there's basically just eye creams with reflective particles, concealer or getting under eye filler
changed your diet? sugar, dairy, alcohol, less bread and red meat helps
PMD clean sonic devise is WONDERFUL!!
I found your channel recently and cannot be more happy. Thank you so much for your videos, it's so informative. I like how you make complicated things approachable and very understandable. I'm 34 and building my beauty gadgets army. I would love to know your opinion about her neck patches. Can we have bonus video, please?)
Ive seen people with rough skin who did at home microneedling derma rollers and it improved their skin.
OMG 999k subs! Countdown to 1 mil! Good job so far girl!
Ahh thank you! Yes so close, kitty smiles! ^^
Happy 1m subs! Amazing job!
thank you for such detailed videos!
OMG CONGRATULATIONS ON 1M
🖤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🖤
LOVE your info!!! Everything! So helpful and intelligent!! Can you please do a video on face washes!? I’m really struggling finding the right one and have for years! Can you do one on different washes you know and love and which is better for different types of skin!? And also which one you decided on and are using!? THANK YOU!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Why did I only just now find your channel 😭 you are amazing omfg
1. You're so gorgeous, and I can't believe how beautiful your skin became after having such intense acne for so long! 2.What products would you recommend for people who have sebaceous filaments? I've tried blackhead strips and scrubs but I didn't realize that I don't have blackheads until now, which explains why the products that I've tried haven't worked at all.
Do the bonus video ! Also this was one of my favorite videos I learned so much it was very interesting. I'm in school for esthetics and I really wish you were my teacher !
So, so, so informative, thank you!
I’ve literally spent all day watching you videos 🤍 LOVE your honesty!! Question, can I contact you for personal skincare recommendations and doubts I have on certain products? Pleeeease let me know
cassandra, you save my skin
I'd love to see you react to some of the RUclips aestheticians who video extractions- like Loan Nuyen and Enilsa. Thanks!
(I just watched my first video and enjoyed your casual chat style, and the science you use to explain your thoughts. I'm learning!)
You forgot the skin scrubber recommendations 🥺 and thanks for the video
Any recommendations for products for removing sebaceous filaments? ❤️
Lovely, dear Cassandra: the Chinese Lady is complete true, she's right with her Chicken Feeth- and Bone-Soup and Collagen from the Food!
I'm a MTA, too!
And at my Home in Germany and in our Part of the Country Bone-Soup (also made of Beef-bones) is the oldest Recipe ever, since thousands of Years, I'm sure that it also saved the Lifes of a lot of very sick People! Also of Soldiers, we call it "Power-soup", and it have to cook the whole Day, minimum, to get the Gold and important Stuff out of the broken Bones i!
You habe your Opinion - I've mine! 😍👍😀
But there must be something great with this Food-Tip of the Chinese-Lady!
On Jamaica I eat - like in Asia - also this Chicken-Feet , and they are delicious, crispy and I don 't know the right Words to describe for!
The Grandmom of my husband invited us always to her thick Saturday-Pea-Soup with Pig-Feet in it ! Without any chemical Shit inside like in the whole American Food (sorry, but this is worldwide known, that your Industrial-Preservatives and this whole strange Sh.. is not healthy! Why are the American People becoming so fat, have so many Disease, many many more that in other Countries? ) .
Your Food is Not healthy anymore!
I don't wann to blame or hurt You, I love You really and believe to the very most of your Informations! You have a great Background and Knowledge, and this is why I'm your Follower!
Have a nice Day and stay healthy....💞💋👍😉🍀🍀🍀
And don't eat anymore Sugar, specially Fructose or Corn-Sirup...that is POISON, really! 💋😉
Congratulations on 1M 💜💜💜
1 Million subscribers... Congrats!!!!!!
I have posted this in some other reaction video to her skincare routine but it is really important to use the protective gel base when using tripollar stop devices! I have been using tripollar devices for a long time and it is so surprising for me that she did not use any pretreatment gel! I am still using stop v, which is a slightly older device but I am pretty sure that the newer one still requires a layer of base to provide protection your face from the heat (it is actually really hot and burns even with the base sometime if you accidentally stop moving the device for a second!!) It is scary to see the way she was using the tripollar
Love your videos ❤ so close 1,000,000 followers 😍
Just a note about jade rollers, jade is poris as a material and can trap bacteria
Love u Cassy❤❤
Thanks so much for making these videos 💙 please can you link us to those face scrubbers you said you would?
Wow i wanted to see someone who react to this!!! Love you and cannot wait to watch this vid❤💜💚💙💙🧡
When she mixed the oil based cleanser and the water based cleanser together in her hand I reflectively said "oh hunny no!"
Your frustrated state reminds me of Erin from The Office when she covers her face with her hair and says her hair is her room 😂
You hit 1 M subs. Congrats!
I’m sorry but I was DYING at u cringing at her routine 💀😭
You briefly mentioned the Baumann skin type and Fitzpatrick (sp?) level, which caught my attention - do you have a video on that? I would love to hear what you have to say about it.
I would love to hear your reactions to the rest of the video.
Can you please make a video on skin tools? Including the ones you have in your amazon list. Please !! I recently found you and I have already watched many of them. Thank you!
Congrats on your 1M subscribers!!!
