Another thing: on these cars with Sync, there is a mini-USB diagnostic port on the underside of the SYNC cpu above the glovebox. I have a cable plugged into it, ran it up the passenger side A-pillar trim, then under and across the headliner to power my dashcam next to the rearview mirror. It goes on and off with the ignition. Easy peasy. (I have a '10 SES with leather & all options. Probably the best used car I've had.)
I will look for that.. I am a scientist (biologist) and computer person .. geek .. that is why this is so interesting to me. the Computers. my son reprogrammed the FOB.. and that is what started us all on first looking at "computers" on these Fords.. thank goodness for the guys out there trying to DIY it, Dealerships are big bucks.. which is getting in short supply.
Thank you SO MUCH. I also had the "tire pressure" on but I got rid of it by filling my tires and then used an OBD11 to scan and erase the "faults" (in VA you have to ZERO faults to pass inspection) so I had done that: and then RECENTLY FOUND this video.. after (with my son and husband all three of us) watching Utube and working on the fuses. And EVERYTHING IN THIS VIDEO worked. The Engineering Mode and the Sweep. AMAZING. I still have to take to the VA inspection station though.. but almost there. THANK YOU CAR GEEKS.. all cars have these computers built in.. it is finding them and sharing them. THANK YOU SO MUCH.. like you said: Peace ! :) Even I think it is interesting and normally I am not a car person.. :) LOL.. except to drive it on the way to get my nails done or shop.. :)
@@IsabellaHale did you have a tire pressure low warning or a tire pressure sensor fault? If it's a warning then filling the tires should get rid of it, but does the OBD2 show tpms codes on the Focus?
@@dubmob151 I couldn't tell the codes meant: it showed codes. . that was a while ago. I should have looked the codes up on Google but I didn't. This is a awesome feature, thanks for making this video, I've got to try this with my car, never knew the 2008 - 2011 focus had this . Definitely gonna subscribe to ur channel.
Awesome video! Thanks man. Also I do have a question, i have a 2009 sel ford focus and I should have the exterior temperature sensor but I just can find any information about it online and my car doesn't display it. Any ideas how to turn it on?
My 2011 ford focus ses keep showing tire pressure monitor fault even though the tires and sensors are good. It disappears when theres a bump or if I hit the dashboard few times but it comes back. Its not that big of an issue but I feel like when the fault comes up, my ac stops working and my headlights suddenly brightens up, but if I hit the dash a few times it goes back to normal and the car sounds differently when that happens. Does anyone know what the problem is with my car? Is it ok to leave it like that or should I get that fixed asap?
As soon as I try it for my 2008 Focus the computer comes up low tire pressure. Even though the tires are fully inflated. Engine Test Mode never comes up.
Have a 2010 focus with the same issue, The batteries in the TPMS sensors located on the valve stem on your tires are most likely dead, I suggest replacing them on your next tire change.
This helps so much, would you have any suggestions how to manually override the door ajar-message showing, which is preventing me from visually starting from Trip B?: or should I just replace the part for now? - Thanks again.
Wonder if you can wipe that stupid useless my key from here. I stupidly and accidentally programmed it on my 2011 Ford focus and it's been nothing but a fkn nuisance since! Great video, by the way. I'm gonna try this regardless.
Method for quick reference: With the gauge display set for Trip B, turn off the car, then press and hold the Reset button while starting the car. After the gauge cluster display shows it going into the engineering mode, release the reset button. Press reset to cycle through the various gauge modes.
@@joealan369 mine just started displaying tire pressure sensor fault, 2010 with 90k miles. Maybe the batteries in the sensors are getting low. Is that the typical reason they show the fault?

Do you know if the time clock on this exact model can be set to 24 hour mode?

Hoping you upload some more.

Yo también tengo el problema del indicador de la puerta en el tablero, pudiste resolverlo?
It’s a door latch issue, you either pay for it 1/4 chance to fix the right door latch or just let it exist. I’m still 200k miles with it.
Do you know anyways to remove mykey without programming a whole different key?
Did it rest your ODOMETER also?
do i have to do this every time i turn the car on?
Thank you very much ! I didn't know that
How do you do this if you don't have a reset button???
My car has those same 3 dash lights my car won’t move how do I fix that problem
Doesn’t work on mine, probably because of that stupid “Tire Pressure Sensor Fault” warning popping up every time I start the car

Also, I can't get my phone to sync. Any ideas?
Pull the fuse and disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. After that put the fuse back in and reconnect your negative terminal
Is the child lock activated in the back? You have to manually remove it. Should be below the door handle
