These were very good cars. Anyone else noticing all the older "slow" cars are outperforming all the "fast" new cars when it comes to insurability, serviceability and reliability?
Sad that they discontinued the wagon, it was great for someone who wanted a small practical car without going for a subcompact crossover (which I think was very rare at the time). Anyway, I think the 2000-2010 Focus is the best for reliability if you don't want a manual transmission. The 2012 Focus got a DCT which made shifts faster and increased performance, but at the cost of reliability.
that 4-speed auto sounds like a real dog tho, 10-sec 0-60 is atrocious these days. That's all that slushbox's doing. I have an '08 Sedan with the 5-speed manual, and even with the PZEV engine which is down to 130HP, in my testing easily gets a 8 second 0-60.

I drove one of those, as well as a 5th generation Taurus, in driver’s ed.
Definitely a let down styling-wise from the 2000-07 Focus, but a very good car. Still see these all the time.
I hated this car when it came out but the styling really has grown on me. I find it to be pretty attractive.
@@SibRevs Agreed, it was too "Americanized" from the original 2000-07 Focus, and they dropped the hatch in favor of that 2 door "coupe".
This car so reliable

People don’t buy this car to race it. Who cares how fast it is lol
