Another great video. I made a similar video on my f20. I was surprised how many views it got. I think about 250k lol. I hope your video does the same. It’s good you don’t need to type the vin in :) keep up the good work!!
Great video, thanks for posting, tried it today and my favourite is also the full gauge tests haha the battery voltage is also very useful to get without popping the bonnet.
TIP: Gauge Sweep doesn't just test if all is in working order it also slightly sets the needles after you have taken the instrument cluster apart... 😉👍🏻
Have you ever suffered from the infamous instrument cluster failure in the time you have owned this Focus? They tend to have all suffered a failure by the time they reach 10-15 year old age mark, so would be surprised to hear you haven't if that were to be the case
@@CarSpyTV That's good to hear. Thanks for replying and satisfying my curiosity. 😀 Should it ever happen in your ownership, given how common it is, there are a lot of people who can fix it at an affordable price nowadays. It's also something that somebody could do themself at home if they are confident with a soldering iron and/or have some experience with repairing electronics and PCBs. It just so happens that I have repaired three in the last month 😁
Three in a month! I bet you can do that job with your eyes shut. If our car develops the fault, I'll probably have a go at it myself. I enjoy a bit of soldering.
The Vauxhall Corsa D doesn’t even have a permanent temperature gauge. You have to go through a ritual to make one appear via a digital screen, e.g. press a button 4 times, hold, etc.
Thank you so much. I used it on focus cc 2008. My tachometer stuck at 2 after some newbie mechanic changed my battery. This fixed the issue ! Thanks again
Just a random question have you ever experienced a immobiliser module failure on the facelift mk2 ST perhaps? Was wondering if the parts are interswoppable or if it needs programming
Thanks for posting, just did it on my 07 Focus 1.6, out of interest, on a few of the read outs - Fuel AD Input, Fuel Guage, A/D Input 00, 02 and five of the Ports, the display number was flickering between different readings - is this normal? Think I noticed it at 3:06 on your car?
Glad the video helped. I remember seeing the battery voltage reading fluctuate on our car. I get that when testing the voltage via a multimeter, too - so that seems normal. However, I can't definitively say whether you'd typically expect fluctuation from the other readings you mentioned. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Hi, I like your videos where you explain stuff in fun and easy way. I have ford focus 2007 mk2 and there is one thing that I wonder why it happens. Maybe you have some suggestion about it. So not always but sometimes when I am in a bigger gear than it is supposed to be with regard to speed or if i just starting up from the parking, both defogging buttons (rear and front) turn on automatically and engine becomes little heavy where i have to release clutch more carefully. Have you seen this problem or can you guess what it can be. Thanks
Glad you like the channel. I haven't heard of that issue. Perhaps there's a bad ground. It might be worth asking at a Focus specific forum, e.g. www.focusfanatics.com/forums/#ford-focus-second-generation.297
@@CarSpyTV I think they are incredibly underrated cars. And they are also very cheap to buy even considering the equipment that the top trim levels have such as the GHIAs and Titaniums which makes them a better overall choice compared to their competitors of the time, in my opinion
What if i dont have this lever with set and reset text. I have turn signals only on my left lever. Does it mean i cant do this because i have "poor" version?
I also have that issue with my 07 focus, the msg randomly comes and goes....really strange, but I did use an OBD machine and now the message has 100% gone.
Hi Bob. Do you mean the light between the temperature and fuel gauge? If so, are there any issues with the car? For example not starting, no display on the instrument cluster’s screen, etcetera?
my friend's focus have that blingking red dot but no fault code, the problem is it start easy but dies soon just right after it starts, easy starts but always dies after, any suggestions?

Brilliant, thanks for this, the battery voltage is so useful and I agree, the gauge sweep is fun
You're welcome, Martin. More Focus videos to follow.
Legend, needed the gauge sweep because my Speedo had got stuck. Thanks mate!
No worries. Glad you got it sorted.
are you going to do a piece on the early MK2 focus where the indicators work but the "tick tock" sound is not working.. is there an easy fix?
The following link might be useful. See:

Knowledge is power. Thanks 4 sharing yours👊🏿
You're welcome, 22dark.
Hi, can you fix the system engine fault here by doing this.
Cheers
An OBD2 scanner reads engine fault codes and suggests what’s wrong with the car. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.

Thank you, Matt. 250K views for your video is a great result. Maybe it will get to 1,000,000! Best wishes as always. S.
hello, I hope you answer, can you please tell me if I can make any changes in this hidden menu or do I just see information?
It’s a long time since I’ve been in this menu, but I don’t remember seeing options to change any settings. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.

My fuel gauge was not working and i tried this in the hope it may just need a reset which.... It worked!!
Thanks alot 👍
Good stuff. Glad the video helped.
Works for a 2010 Ford focus to mk2.5
Thanks for the comment and best wishes from CarSpyTV.

Should the fault happen, post a video up and I can give you some pointers in the comment section if you wish

Hi!
Any idea why there is no warning light for engine temperature on focus mk2 ?
Thanks

How do you know of a Focus Mk2 can take cruise control? Is it true that the unit in front of the passengers seat legs must have a "D" letter on??
You might find some info at the Ford Owners Club. See: www.fordownersclub.com/

Hello. I haven't had this issue. Perhaps the Ford Owners Club has some info. See: www.fordownersclub.com/

Interesting. My second trip meter stays at zero all the time. Maybe if I do a full check it might kick it back to life.
Someone else had the same issue. See:

Reminds me of the cheat codes we used back then for getting cars when playing gta vice city
Need For Speed Porsche 2000 was my favourite back in the day.
Great video and funny also👍
Thanks Bob. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Traction control light ford focus
Is it helpful to test all the buttons in the car ? Im trying to figure out if the cruise buttons work
Might it be easier to find a video/owner's manual that explains how cruise control works? You can then test the buttons.

esp warning ı need your car to give that fault so ı can learn from you mr spy
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If it was my car, I'd start by scanning for errors via an OBD2 reader. Good luck getting it sorted.
Who knew!!! I knew the Focus was a marvel🤗
Even after all these years, it's still a great car.

Agreed.
My 05 Focus doesn’t have this unfortunately just has a blank indicator stalk
That’s interesting. If I find an alternative way to access the secret menu, I’ll make a second video. Best wishes.
Will this work on the facelift ST perhaps? has the start button...
The ST facelift with a start button likely has a similar menu. However, I don't have one here to confirm the specifics. Best wishes from CarSpyTV.
Fuel percent is in hexadecimal : 23(16) = 35(10)

wow

now i know what that button do 😁

Hi , does anyone know how to Fix "engine systems faliure" , it doesnt Show check engine light just that msg and red light on right side
An OBD2 scanner might help diagnose the fault. Good luck.
