  • Update to the Built a Budget RSX Shift Selector lever. I was off by 4mm and could not shift into 5th or 6th gear when reverse lockout engaged. I had to regrind and reweld the shift lever to be able to shift into 5th and 6th gear.

You should make these. I'd like to go your route but can't find a type S selector.

I hate to admit this but this was a pain to do and required a lot of work. I may consider it if there is a big demand for them.

What are your thoughts on the equivalent part from the same-year TSX transmission? #24460-RAS-000
To me they look identical in the parts diagrams, but looking at pictures of the RSX Type-S and TSX selectors side by side, the RSX-S shifter arm seems to be slightly longer on the end that connects to the shifter cable, while the end that goes into the selector mechanism has the same notch for the lockout cam, is in roughly the same position.

Unfortunately they are different and will not work. I thought it would but you will need an rsx type s level or have to modify one like it. Here is a long video I made on putting it together and I remember it wouldn't work.

Another option is to use a TSX / Accord shifter box if you use a TSX shifter lever mechanism.

Just buy a ep3 or RSX base shift selector they are super cheap. And use the internal of si 6speed with the ep3/RSX arms

No modifying needed. Bolts right up. Who needs reverse lock out? Reverse is so far left

Thank you for your comment. I have created a video that uses the internal of an 6 speed Si. ruclips.net/video/4M52xI38jAQ/видео.html

Thank you for your comment and yes your right you can do that but it's not all about the reverse lock out. Some people do want the wall guide when they are going into 5th gear and even 6th gear. Its just like pulling the shift lever all the way to the right to go into 1st gear. There is that wall that will stop at a certain point to help guide you into 1st and I'm pretty sure Honda has their reasons for their designs. This video is just another different kind of solution.

Hey there, Do you by chance know if you could use a 03-07 Manual accord Gear selector instead of an Ep3/ Rsx selector for a z3 trans? I want to use the top of the gear selector from an accord and the bottom z3 mechanism from gear selector
