Denzel: “Well it’s just that I’ve got this thought running round in my head”…Boycie: “Well lend it to Trigger”!!! Priceless writing from John Sullivan.
I remember this show when I was a kid, I grew up with it. And no matter how stressful life gets, whenever I watch it again from time to time, I always have a good belly laugh. The fact that it’s still funny, and relatable, after all this time, just shows the brilliance of it.
8:20 I love stories about older Britain, and hearing this little soliloquy from Uncle Albert brings tears to my eyes. Such a simple yet wondeful time, brought to life by an amazing actor. RIP Buster Merryfield, RIP Uncle Albert.
That wonderful, poignant scene with Albert reminiscing by the river's edge - the perfect mixture of nostalgia and pathos, the interplay of these wonderfu, timeless characters... And then - "who's there?" "Knock knock!" So simple yet hilarious!! What a show 👌 Perfection!
I really feel for Uncle Albert's pain. His sad bewilderment at how much the world has changed; his recollections of how the world used to be: simpler. Let's treasure the Uncle Alberts and Grandads of this world, for they can remember a better one.
Del's response of "Yeah, it's terrific innit" is one of the few times I think John Sullivan got the mood a bit wrong. Albert's speech is so heartfelt and so important to him that I don't think Del, even blinded by his love of the yuppie lifestyle, would cut him down like that.
Del and Rodney finding uncle Albert down by the docks. That was one of the most timeless, emotional and powerful scenes I have ever witnessed. The very epitome and core of acting. Superb.
British comedy was superb they were real characters with really great writers. We'd go from laughter to tears in one episode, yeah the old British shows were so real.
They can't do it, that's why, utter trash, utter filth, childish, swearing. There's nothing worth watching now, the TV stays off more than on, apart from Uni Challenge and the Salvage Hunters
Great comedy I used to watch the trotter's every night back in the day's.i remember Once my boss said to me that I reminded him of the trotter's from my actions, dealing and willing in the garage when I was working in London long time ago .
4:53 Slater to Raquel: I see it now, you're cohabiting ain't ya? Raquel: That's the way you wanna put it, yes. Slater after a pause: Well, which one?!🤣🤣🤣🤣
John Sullivan's ability to reduce people to tears in every way possible is amazing, i am a south londoner and the change from the 80s-90s when i grew up to now is just awful i cant imagine how bad it is for the older folks. I cannot believe that the BBC don't even have this available on iplayer.
its strange really went to mexico about 2 years and the waiter asked if we were from london and we said not far about 1 hour away , he said delboy rodney i went what are you going on about you know only fools and horses as i looked round at my wife . Believe it or not i must have spoked to him for the next 2 hrs about that series to him fun times !
Del: Shut up Slater, you're getting her excited. Roy: Yeah, always could, couldn't I love? Del: RIGHT, THATS IT! Roy was an expert on pressing the right button to piss Del off.
Many find memories of watching OFH growing up. There was a certain security in the familiarity of watching them strive for riches but never quite making it.
If anyone asks what are the dark sides of the past British empire we can rattle off all of its vulgarity and brutal displays, but the real diamonds of empire are its music ,arts , Science both medical and social but the crowning achievement Only fools and horses a comedy of beauty and magic From a fan in the Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪
They cut the bit where Del says it's got a full head of hair.. The gag is that the chap delivering the baby his Wig has come off .. Del later offers to sell him a replacement wig as he is knocking them out..
Another gleaming gem of a comedy from the era when we were *truly* "spoilt for choice". Wonderful writing & acting would leave the audience in tears of laughter or pathos. OF&H, Blackadder, YM/YPM, Porridge, Open All Hours..... _et al._ "We'll never see their likes again". So sad that the race to the bottom has ended up with a cesspit of "comedy" with limp storylines, woke pandering & singularly unfunny shows. Still, we can enjoy these gems still, on here & elsewhere. Thank you.

Always.....
He's an absolute legend, that laugh 🤣
absolute legend, he used to live in my hometown of Verwood at one point
He was just brilliant. ❤❤❤❤
RIP uncle Albert so many people love you. I remember the episode that went from comedy to such sadness. Captured so many peoples hearts
Won't ever get comedy like this again no where near, this will always be a classic
What a boring, ill educated comment.

Some say that Nostalgia is not what it used to be.
@@MrRorySteel but its often better than the reality of the here and now 😏
From the expression on Albert’s face, he wasn’t acting. He was reliving those times and sights for real.

The world was not better in the past. The world is and always has been terrible.
The scene with Albert's speech on the dockside is one of the best written and acted scenes in British sitcom history.
Brilliant
You can break our windows but not our hearts ❤️
I'd give anything to relive the 80s and 90s again, real TV back then! OFAH and David Attenborough, best things to come out the BBC

One of the best programmes ever. Used to sit with my nan and grandad watching this as a kid. 😊

The woketards have destroyed it all.
I can’t believe that they are able to do all of this without laughing. It’s just so impressive and hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

Uncle Albert's speech about Old London Town should sadden anyone.

If there was anyone made for the part of Del Boy it was David Jason. What a sitcom.
