Best ever comedy series of all time. Simple as that and a privilege growing up with it in it’s prime. One of the few series I can watch again and again without getting bored and I am 37 with my 9 year old daughter who loves it.
the quick little moment of Del fighting the tears after he gets the all clear in the hospital is a distillation of what makes this programme so very special. Del will always remind me of my Dad

All British comedies are timeless, this one, open all hours, the young ones and the list goes on. Sadly modern comedy doesn’t even come close to the quality of these.
The greatest British comedy, John Sullivan was a fantastic writer, all the characters were so believable and there are some classic moments, its still funny all these years later and nothing will ever top it
I've watched this since a kid I've watched every episode easily 20 times each and still to this day it still brings joy to my life this will forever be the best comedy ever made
Even though they were fooling about, and playing for laughs, there were moments, such as when Del got the all clear at the hospital and the end of the wedding , when it was clear what a great actor David Jason really is. Best show ever.
Both very good, but the chandelier event was predictable, the bar sketch wasn't and had the added impact of surprise, enhanced by 'Trgger's reaction - giving extra depth.
There are about 25 top British comedy series which, to this day, are worth watching over and over again. Among that list, Only Fools And Horses tops the bill. British sense of humour at its very best.
@@delanodegenie6970 yes FT Is funnier after all OFAH went down hill after Grandads died and the series was lengthened from it original 30mins time length

So glad I was born in 1985 so I was able to watch this at the time! If it ever gets stopped on the telly, I can still watch it on dvd 🤣 The almost constant subscribe reminder is annoying though
I remember this series (in my view S6 of OFAH is the best ever comedy series) came out at exactly the same time as arguably one of the greatest ever albums (New Order 'Technique'). Probably sheer coincidence, but there you go. Never get tired of watching this series or listening to that album. 'The Chain Gang' is my favourite ever episode of OFAH. Absolutely faultless dialogue and comic timing throughout. The guy playing Arnie the retired jeweller played a blinder in it, along with the regular cast obviously. I loved the way when Rodney first showed the tomato stains on his yuppie suit, at the same point they added in (playing on the pub jukebox) the rather weird or wacky beginning of Erasure 'Stop'. Such attention to detail to get the comedy right (and obviously done on a tight deadline as that song had only just been released).
My parents have told me not to communicate with strangers so I do appologise for not leaving a comment about how elated I feel every time I watch this timeless master piece. Sorry shiny happy strangers...
