Born in 83 in London I grew up watching this and I personally don't think there's anything else that's had such an impact on society as this has...the good old days 💯
When my depression gets really bad and I’m so ill I turn to OFAH. It cheers me up instantly, and I’m in tears of laughter. Best comedy that ever existed. Nicholas was brilliant, so natural, you could never tell he was acting. The whole cast were fantastic.
The opening cornflake competition scene is genius. Rodney’s slowly dawning realisation from being completely oblivious and elated at arrival, to then facing the realities of what his predicament actually entails moving forwards. Absolutely hilarious 😂
The best moment is later at the wedding reception when Rodney leaves for his honeymoon and as he is saying his goodbyes, he turns and looks at Del, and Del him. Its so powerful and a word isn't even spoken. You then see Del standing alone in the room, it's heartbreaking. Perfectly acted, perfectly scripted.
Holding Back the Years is playing and it perfectly illustrates things moving on and as they do move on, Del is getting left behind. It was beautiful and incredibly poignant.
@@joelthorpe4170 I didn't expect a response from an old post of yours. I thought a woman like Jill, actresses name, who had two dead husbands early in the series, 2?, would have been ideal. Someone sweet for Del but scuppering Rodney and Albert. That said the cereal episode is in my top 5. Edit: Series 1, Ep 4. Pauline Harris.
"Boycie and his wife Marlene can't have kids" Albert " yeah they've been trying for years" Del "Yeah they've had tests and things frozen and stuff" Rodney " like something isn't there low on something" Trigger " the hospital has just about given up on them" Michael " do you lot mind discussing my private life in front of strangers" Boycie " alright calm down Aubrey" Del 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hardly.
👌
Lol, ok then 🙄
OFAH is the best thing in 40 years that’s happened in society? Can I suggest you go to the V&A or the Tate?
Only fools and horses was the funniest TV show ever

Back in former Yugoslavia Del and Rodney were like family members, it was probably the most cherished show for at least a decade.
Del taking a kicking for his brother still gets me even today.

@@marwood1969 Everytime I hear the song, it brings me to this episode
I know Del never married but I wish either he or Rodney stayed single.
And don't get me started on the Damien rubbish. 😡
@@zanussidish5685 completely agree .. although it was still a brilliant show with the women but it was far better when it was just the 3 men.

So good. From the 80s it's not a surprise. Today is just total 💩. Thank you everyone involved in this masterpiece of a series.
Great show ever
For me the best part of whole series is when Rodney comes home from work(after wedding) and Del tell him:"You don't live here no more!"😂❤
Cassandra’s laughing at the start would of been real haha. Such a brilliant show god bless John sully.
Watching this I suffer from perpetual laughter just blinding‼️‼️
So they think Rodney's 15??
Is that right?

OK thanks for the weekend though
At the time I thought that if Rodney is 14, how on earth was Cassandra going to pass as his mum.
“I fell off”
why cut the punchline?!
I thought that. Some of these seem to be the more recent tv edits that cut parts of scenes.
Back when Peckham was safe.
