That was definitely worth watching. Releasing it on Remembrance Day was fitting too.
The perpective on it being both anti-war and in a way pro-war made me think of François Truffaut's quote, “There’s no such thing as an anti-war film”.
I think it would have been difficult to have depicted WWI the same rather crass way as the previous seasons. Even now it's still too recent and too traumatising.

@YourFriendlyOfficeAssistant thank you so much. It was uploaded on Remembrance Day, but held in copyright jail until today (apparently!)
The Anti/Pro was stance always sticks in my mind because my dad introduced me to Blackadder and he was in the army. So I see the pride he has in his service and think, he can watch this show and he always makes a little comment under his breath at the ending. He validates the legitimacy of how veterans see the show. Just allowed me to think in a deeper way about what "anti-war" means. Thanks again for watching!

@joshdorleans1735 thanks bud, thank you for watching!
I don't know. I did enjoy the process but I can only write like this when I'm captivated to do so. I can't force it, so it depends if another subject comes along that takes my fancy really.

I've never sat and watch the entire series but I know OF it through many co-workers and family who have watched it but there's many more who have missed the entire message of the series outside HAHA FUNNY BRITISH PEOPLE JOKES.
I ended up sadly seeing the ending before I understood the series on a whole and it's been a journey since then. Still never watched it but I respect the series and message.
HOW does this video not have more views though?! This is a very succinct and expert written essay.

@evankimori thank you so much for that. I literally uploaded this just for people that I know, that 100 people have seen it at all is amazing haha
I think, though you watched it back-to-front, you'll still catch all of the same emotions if you revisit the earlier seasons and make your way through season 4 once more. I've watched it countless time and genuinely, always goosebumps at the end. Just makes me so appreciative for shows like this

@IGYEJohn The JOURNEY of a well written series is always the satisfaction. You can watch and see the characters grow and change and adapt and whilst there is humor: a well written one can make you fully aware of the Pain Under The Surface.
