I am german and when the whole ordeal with the Pandemic started in 2020, my irish friend introduced me to this show and we pretty much watched the whole show through the lockdown. One of the funniest british comedies i have ever watched and i am eternally grateful that he showed it to me.
Glad you enjoyed it. I used to watch it loads growing up. I hadn’t watched it in years but got watching it again when the Pandemic started and was instantly hooked again! 🤣
It was voted THE best uk comedy show ever
Sounds like the absolute best way to get through lockdown! I should have thought of it earlier!
Any German shows that compare?
I gave you the 114th thumbs up, Coronavirus was declared pandemic on 11/3, 113, looked like a jinx, lol. Glad you enjoyed it and took your mind off the worrying times.
When there was stuff on the BBC that was actually worth watching, comedy gold , my favorite was when "Jumbo" the Australian said "you think I'm bald don't ya" and uncle Albert responded "well that's a hell of a parting you've got there son" , Buster Merryfield's timing and delivery was perfect.
Truly one of the greatest tv series ever produced
Have to agree. Many fans of it in Serbia.
John Challis has recorded his visit there on a DVD called, ‘Boycie in Belgrade’
Après Moi la de luge
They could a gone for another 100 years n still been loved, so long as you open all hours or I'll send Steptoe n son after you British comedies Best comedies on earth by far, who can forget Norman Winston comedy films or the carry on films n Sid James, maybe we can get on the busses n go watch a Brilliant old British comedy, I think we where lucky to have lived at them times in our youth
intellectual snobs will disagree with you. 'it's dumb comedy blah blah blah'
There is something so comforting about this show, instantly transports you to a better time.
And the amount of time me and my mates say at work
“Put him on the back seat?...HE’S THE DRIVER!!”😂
R.I.P John
Absolutely. like family now ive watched everyone a thousand times or more. just like a comfort blanket now putting OFAH on...
Happy 40th anniversary to the best sitcom ever made!
And Triggers broom😂
Greatest Show ever made . This old broom here has 17 new heads and 14 new handles
That's a good car!
The immediate look on Rodney's face when the bus explodes, comedy gold, priceless. There'll never be another comedy like it.
I’ve said the same for years 😂
Cassandra did you hear that??? Our coach has just blown up....
😊😊😊😊😊
This probably is the best comedy sitcom ever made. It pains me how they’re all getting older, obviously the legendary Boyce passed away the other day RIP. This is my go to show now matter how I’m feeling this cheers me up.
I totally agree
Same as me fella.
Well said
And uncle Albert mike from behind the bar sadd loss
Trigger - ain't this coach fitted with a Fire Distinguisher? 😄
I must have watched every single episode a thousand times and I still laugh out loud!! Pure genius 👏
Yep I can confirm this condition is real 😃👍
Iconic
Same
Yep same and still laugh, for me the chandelier scene still kills me
@@exex9378 and the bar counter scene
To this day I can’t listen to anybody singing “Crying” without thinking of Tony Angelino and having a grin!
God bless them all.
Especially to John Challis, Buster Merryfield, Roger Lloyd Pack, Lennard Pearce, Kenneth McDonald and Roy Heather.
Thank you for bringing all your own magic to an immortal sitcom.. You'll all live on forever through Only Fools and Horses
What about John Sullivan who was the genius behind it?
And Paul Barber - Denzal
Dont forget the masterfull David Jason!!!
And sullivan!!! The creator and comedy genius behind it all!
@@siegfriedwillems6970 he is not dead
Pure class, unforgettable, inventive, and Britain's best Sitcom.
Def unforgettable, inventive, but not the best.
Perfect way to put it!!!
@@Rhythmattica What's the best in your opinion? I would go for Blackadder
@@AL-SH Flying Circus, NTNON, Fry and Laurie... As for sitcom....Faulty towers, Some MD ave em, Dads army, Aint half Hot mum... Theres a lot!
@@Rhythmattica nahhh ofah is much better imo
The best comedy show ever never gets old never will also RIP John Challis.
Best comedy ever along with some of Peter Kays car share
@@3cying peter kay car share is good but nowhere near this level !
@Wayne Anthony Holmes there is nothing wrong with his grammar
This and Fawlty Towers
@@adamknight7904 yes Fawlty Towers another classic
Thanks for the laughs Boycie RIP fella 💚💚
The auction scene still brings tears to my eyes even all these years later.
Same, after going on this incredible journey with these characters from the start, developing such a relationship with them, to see them finally achieving what they always dreamed of, very emotional episode indeed, and should have been the last episode ever made imho, was the perfect ending.
@@wibblewobbler9104 in my eyes it is the last episode. I choose not to count the ones after as they just ruin it on my opinion
I always imagine what it would be like to be in that situation hearing all that money coming in on the bids & after in the van. Just brilliant!
When Rodney gets married i cried buckets? With Simply Red nailing it aswell.
The timing of Raquel's correction from "cwying" to "crying" @ 27:00 was exquisite.
Top Tier comedic gold, nothing will ever come close.
John Sullivan was a genius in creating OFAH. Nobody will ever make as good a series as this again
Agree also wouldn't get made with pc brigade comedy today just isn't funny as it offends people these days even ofah certain bits edited out now when it's shown thank god I've got the dvds of all these
My dad introduced me to only fools and horses and I’m forever grateful, simply the greatest and funniest show I’ve ever watched
RIP John Challis aka Boycie. Another Only Fools legend gone. Reunited with Uncle Albert Grandad Mike Sid and Trigger in the heavenly Nags Head.
"Large cognac please, Michael." 🤣🤣
Steptoe And Son, Dad's Army, Last Of The Summer Wine, Allo-Allo, Fawlty Towers, The Young Ones, Only Fools And Horses, Keeping Up Appearances, 'Til Death Us Do Part, Birds Of a Feather, Mr Bean, and Absolutely Fabulous.
Pure, Great British comedy gold.
My dad's favourite ❤Rest his soul xxxx
To hull and back is a work of utter genius
Yep...that script was the pinnacle
Rest in peace John challis
One of the hallmarks of great comedy is being able to watch it time and time again, know exactly when the punchlines are coming, yet still laugh like a drain at them! A wonderful show - great casting, well acted and superbly written. A few quick examples - coffee and gravy, the Shadow, Trigger's broom, "rhinoceros", the auction scene, Arnie in the ambulance. I could go on!
Danger uxd, class of 62, Freddie the frog, and cwying 😂😂😂😂
The Jolly Boys Outing was a highlight at the shows peak.
100% I agree. It was the best episode they made. So nostalgic to watch now, 1989, great times 😉
I can't help feeling that, that episode started off brilliantly, then tapered off after they went to the club to where Rachel/ Raquel worked.
@@gbrown744 nope just you
@@spinofthewheel5345 and my friends. So......
@@spinofthewheel5345 couldn't agree more, couldn't fault any part of that episode!
The day the BBC start making programmes like this again, is the day I'll start paying for a TV licence again.
So you won't. 👍
The day the BBC create another sitcom that can stake a claim to be the greatest of all time will be what makes you pay a licence fee again. Nice one pal. Plenty of good shows on there now.
Well that will never happen the bbc only make woke shit now this is the best show they ever made
@@paulnoble2640 what is woke shit?
@@TubbyBrewster11
Comedy? Which ones?
In the words of Edmund Blackadder......."thank God I wore my corset, because I think my sides would have split".
Ain't this coach fitted with a fire distinguisher? 🤣
When this show ended I was cwying, cwying
"I got lumbered with a star whose props come from Lilley & Skinner, Crown Toppers and Mattesons!"
Wock n’ woll
@@user-vm9hh2se7s LOL
Too funny!
I was born in 83 I grew up with this and I still watch it all the time! I feel blessed to have grown with this, never again will anything have such an impact on society pure genius...this and David Attenborough is by far the best things that's come out of the BBC! Stay safe people 🙏❤
I watched the first episode on it’s first airing.....and followed from there
And Minder, George Cole is a legend.
@@TheScouseassassin 👏 I still watch minder to this day, good shout
@@WAKE-UP-BRITAIN Yep, between BritBox, Amazon Prime and Netflix I watch OFAH, Minder, The Sweeney, Porridge, Fawlty Towers and sometimes The Professionals. Gave up watching terrestrial tv 4 years ago.
@@TheScouseassassin As well you might, far too much reality tv rubbish on these days.
By far the best comedy ever . I was born in1980 and grew up with it .
I'm 42 now and sit with my 18 year old son crying with laughter . You know what's coming everytime but I still crease up
Comedy doesn't come any better than this.
Today, we heard the sad news that John Challis has died. RIP 'Boycie.'
I know many people reckon that the funniest OFAHs scene is Del falling through the bar, but for me it has to be Batman and Robin "to the rescue".
I can still remember the tears that rolled down my face watching this scene the very first time it aired on TV, Christmas day 1996.
Del .. let's go
Was that 25 years ago 😳.
Absolute genius, tv at its finest.
I don't know, I'd have to go with the Albert pretending to be shocked scene in S7,
25 Dec 1990, Rodney Come Home.
I know, it’s almost too much to take! Oh, my sides. And later on when the councillor tells someone else that Del’s Batman! Jesus wept…it hurts laughing this much!
@@TheScouseassassin Yes indeed. Comedic perfection.
RIP John Challis. Played Boycie another great character in the best sitcom ever made in my opinion.
The early series when Rodney was younger and their was no Casandra involved were by far the best…
But sadly the series Sadler went down hill after Rodney grew up and got married.
@@CricketEngland I’d agree although some of the greatest scenes in British history come from episodes after the girls came into the show.
@@ELLIOT1311 name them?
@@ELLIOT1311 after all their is noting better than Grandad and his Wendy house and war is hell lines
Boyce was a terrible character. He was mean, greedy and not at all loyal. It didn't make sense that he should be a friend of Del.
Comedy gold, there will never be another OFAH, absolutely brilliant
Absolutely love the "Cwying" scene and the one with the "dolls" 😂😂😂 makes me chuckle everytime
RIP to all those who have passed you will never be forgotton. Thank You for providing generations with absolute legend of comedy
RIP John Sullivan, writer and creator.
Shame on the Beeb for not celebrating his output at this particular time
@@milligan8838 Too busy celebrating paedos
Pure brilliance! I absolutely love watching Only Fools & Horses and never tire of it! 😅🤣😂😁😄
R.I.P John Challis will miss that Boycie laugh
When life is tipsy turvy, put on OFAH- it THE very best!!
You mean topsy turvy
That's what I do.
I know every episode word for word so I know what’s coming but I still laugh so much. The writing by a brilliant mind and the brilliant acting and comedy timing of a great cast.
We laughed with the characters
We laughed at the characters
And felt the emotions they had.
We will never see anything like this again.
RIP John Challis. Absolute legend.
The Batman and Robin sequence is without doubt the very finest moment in British sit-com history!
Still laugh at every episode even though I’ve watched it a million times 😊
Same
Same.
The best British comedy series ever! Every few years I watch all the episodes and I always die laughing.
The best sitcom ever, I burst out of laughing every time I watch it! It was and still is very popular in my country, me and my friends often repeat the legendary lines from it. He who dares wins 😂
My granddad introduced this to me when i was a kid, remember it still being on air at the time, he used to record them on video, no matter how many time you watch it, its never fails to make you laugh, as a kid the scene where Del pretended to be the ghost when granddad was talking to the ashes had me in tears. Too many scenes to even say whats the funniest but one that sticks out is when Albert it talking about the german girl he fancied who had a finger missing. And how when he watches a war film and hears the word nein, he thinks of her, to Rodney's reply "what because thats how many fingers she had" kills me
This show caught a special moment in British comedy history, I was 15 when it started, such an iconic series with so many special hysterical moments and without doubt the very best British comedy sitcom of all time and will never be surpassed in this woke modern world. bless all the cast members past and present.
Rodney applying for his own job on the phone...very underrated scene
Hello Mr Hardy
I haven’t got a brother
So funny
“Our coach has just blown up” 😂
Wonderfully funny show.
R.I.P John Challis. 😥
Best British sitcom. Timeless classic.
Brilliant! Brace yourself Rodney! Lol! I am from South Africa and I can't stop watching all the scenes
The best comedy ever , since I discovered ofah when I moved to Uk I fell in love with it
Don't worry harry I won't tell your guvnor about this 😂😂😂 pure gold
Watched it growing up, it was pure genius never been a better British show
Dels face when Rodney says "no we haven't got a car phone" it was this moment he knew he had been done lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My grandad loved this show, as my dad did. Well, my whole family. I watched it since I was a young girl, and I watch it still when I need a good cheering up. My five year old loves to watch it with me. This show will always be timeless and so loved!
The Jolly Boys' Outing is one of my favourite
The best Micheal The best.
The greatest comedy ever made. Just wonderful characters.
The writer John Sullivan is a genius

40th anniversary best comedy ever happy 40th anniversary Only Fools and Horses
The Batman and Robin sequence must rank as one of the most genius comedy sketches in history! 😂😂
Best comedy ever made. Remember watching time on our hands going out in 96 when i was 4, one of the earliest memories i have. Watched it with my late dad and over the years would watch the videos he had of only fools at times to. I have those wonderful memories watching this with him, memories i will cherish always
What a show this was pure brilliance fantastic. It was the best tv series ever made great actors and actresses its timeless. Such a shame trigger, boycie, mike, uncle albert and Grandad have passed
Raquel and Toni doesn’t matter how many times I watch this always has me in stitches 😂😂😂😂😂
They didn't do a research when it comes to finding the perfect male back vocal. 😅
especially the look on dels face when he pulls out the salami
Yeah its beautifully written that episode.
This show will never get old!
"What do you expect for 60 quid?"

Another Of OFH Character passed away today Terence Aubrey Boyce RIP John Challis Great character Sympathy to his Family and OFH Family.🙏🙏
The Batman and Robin is pure hilarity
Rip Boycie you were one of the best. Rip John thank you for the laughs xx 💔💔
Trigger absolute Legend 😂😂
R.i.p John. You will be missed.
It was the greatest comedy series ever made. The cast was perfect & John Sullivan was a genius. Have the DVD collection & watched it a millions times. Comedy Gold
The DVD collection has been heavily edited because it was deemed offensive.
On certain jokes they don't just make you laugh once but numerous times. Timeless and classic
Some scenes can be watched over and over again, the humour doesn't become jaded. Grandad and the chandelier is one of many examples.
Only fulls and horses the best I've ever seen in my lifetime nothing will ever match it or ever come close. Stood the test of time forever. Rip Mike and Boyce I will love you forever .xx.
Only Fools And Horses and One Foot in the Grave…two of the best sitcoms ever made.
Greatest comedy of all time.
Time on our hands should have remained the last episode just such a perfect ending with all characters still present. It was never the same again without Albert and Mike. Them walking into the sun set saying this time next year we’ll be billionaires was just fantastic.
The blow up dolls is the best episode I couldn't stop laughing
It's my favourite too .del saying OH GOOD EVENING had me on the floor laughing 🤣
Don't forget the peckham spring water.
I like that episode with Rodney getting revenge on Del, with the hang glider episode😂
When it was Great Britain 😍😍😍😍 RIP John Challis thank you 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The greatest sitcom of all time! 👏😂
In the 80's and 90's you couldn't walk down a Mediterranean resort main street without hearing Only Fools blasting out from TV bars.
The falling through the bar has to be the best but there are hundreds of contenders.
One of my other favourites is Peckham Spring and the 'Gunge' moment.Del Boy mimicking Denzil's Scouse accent is side splitting
newer generations will never make a programme like this, this was part of our lives those of i us born in the sixties
I love the fact that Delboy still wears his jewellery over the gloves when he is wearing his Batman costume.
The greatest thing about it is all the struggles that they went through and saying "this time next year we'll be millionaires" and they had that watch from day one. 😂👌🏻
Clever init
My favourite show with Dads Army a close second . Can never get tired of watching them over and over again . Cheers from Oz by way of India ..
Nah,the watch
@@ianharrison2490 What's that?

Rest In Peace Boycie......
John.... It Was an absolute pleasure to meet you many years ago in Swansea and share a good evening over a few bottles of red..
This show will always be the best comedy ever made...
Every single one of them actors were the perfect match to each character...
Back before the BBC neutered themselves. Crazy to think what great quality comedy they used to produce. You'd never imagine anything like this form the BBC now.
Your dead right. The best that they can offer. Is that cock in a frock ? Mrs browns boys. Nothing like this. Nowhere near as funny. It’s like watching paint dry. But I hear quite a few people say it’s hilarious. I’d personally rather stick my head in a gas oven,
BBC weren't happy with it at first. Probably too working class for the snobs who worked at the BBC in the 80's. Well BBC it was the best comedy you produced
@@richardharries5825 Mrs Browns boys is awful. Low brow silliness. No wit or intelligence to it at all.
@@martybhoy72 Amen. Back in the days before the beeb lost it to the public, and started sending out rubbish.
Came here for the memories after finding out the tragic news of the late John “boycie” challis
one of the greatest comedies to ever grace our tv screens
Who actually cried when they finally hit it big?!
The amount of times we’d seen them lose out on a big deal and end the show with “this time next year we’ll be millionaires” then finally they did a special where they make it and become rich, it’s was priceless, we all love David Jason, a British icon and a true legend, all the cast have a special place in the British public hearts.
Brilliant... brilliant.... brilliant... OFAH is just brilliant at each and every episode... Bonnet de Douche!! 😃👍
I've grown to like the early episodes more than the later eps with Cassandra and Raquel. Looking back as a an adult I find the Uncle Albert, Raquel and Cassandra era quite tedious, akin to watching some American sitcom. The earlier episodes, although not "laugh out loud" funny in the normal sense had some very subtle funny moments which got more funnier the more you watched them, and they felt like you could relate to them more.
@@Embracing01 The early episodes were funny and kind of gritty... After series 3 when they added characters as format I loved too. The weird thing you watch and they kind of become family and it dragged us in. The later episodes for example " Peckham spring" I tried not to think too much. However sadly nothing of TV can rewritten as OFAS. Every character actor was fantastic.
