Mouth-watering Ethiopian Food and Crispy Fried Beef Ribs at Dukem Grill and Restaurant in Dubai!

- I had so much fun on this episode but I must admit that I was completely out of my depth in terms of food knowledge since this was my second time eating Ethiopian food, but luckily I had an ace in my pocket!
My special guest on this episode was Kokob "Kuku" Tura who actually works with my Mom at Sticky Rice and knows her way around Ethiopian food and she helped me order and introduced me to a lot of awesome new dishes that I had never tried before and I loved all of it.
This is what we ate while we were at Dukem Grill and Restaurant:
- Bayonet: Vegetable Platter Served on Injera Bread
- Mahberawi: Meat Platter Served on Injera Bread
- Ketfo: Marinated Minced Meat Spiced with Mitmita
- Derek Tibs: Dried and Fried Salted Crispy Beef Ribs
There's so much variety and so much to explore in Ethiopian cuisine that it was an incredibly fun food adventure for us. If you're a vegetarian or a vegan there is so much choice for you and did I mention that the "Injera" bread is completely gluten free too? Honestly, if you haven't tried Ethiopian food yet, do yourself a favor and get on it now, because you're seriously missing out on some great eating.

Lol backpack! Agelegil....it's like a traditional lunch box to pack & carry when families travel far away in the country side. Sometimes also used to take food when visiting relatives or friends. You can hang it on the wall for decoration as well! Good job, next time ask them about the etiquettes... there are bunch of them...that's why we're able to eat on one plate without getting messy!

its alicha-siga-wot. Meaning light flavoured meat stew (usually non spicy and yellowish/greenish in color). The word alicha applies to veg and non-veg stews.

5:35, the guy explaining while the delicious Ethiopian food on display and I was salivating like a dog who has rabies, I was like “I’m taking you to the court of justices for this “ hmm don’t talk too much about the most delicious and organic food, Ethiopian food, just dig into it when it is served otherwise I will dig into it and get the feeling of almost reaching the heaven.

Most foods work well with injera or "Ethiopian" spice and butter. We eat pasta with injera lol. ...nothing is of limits.

Dude thanks for trying Ethiopian dishes. You aint suppose to add spices on the kitfo unless you want it to be hot. FYI it's not oil it's clarrifed butter (Ghee with Ethiopian spices.)

You did great. Great for a fist timer. You learn fast. ... But Kuku is short of explaining on some things there. ... Ethiopian food has a lot of Rules and Principles /science/ to it. You eat with right hand only ... you don't mess with the stew ... you just pick whatever combination with Injera. Injera made of teff, healthiest gluten free grain! Keep trying ... you'll be a master. :D

It's better than bread it's make up from the smallest grain called teff loaded with iron plus it's gluten free. I don't know why the injera never comes out thin in the states may be its the water but from Ethiopia, its Razer thin and light weight.
