@Culinary Punks Imagine getting angry because someone suggests that cops should live in the community they police, just like teachers and city government officials have to do in most places. Because if you have a community focused position then you should actually be from that community in order to best understand it, and to actually interact with the people who live there.

What's an ongoing nightmare? In 2020, in the U.S., the police killed 457 white people, 241 black people, and 169 hispanic people. Police killed twice as many white people than black people. Are you really, really sure? Daunte Wright was charged, back in December 2019, with First Degree Aggravated Robbery. He choked and robbed a woman at gunpoint, stole all her rent money from her bra. Later, he violated the conditions of his release when he illegally possessed a firearm and fled from police (last June). Then he skipped his court hearing on those two misdemeanors, which led to a warrant for his arrest. Finally, he got pulled over for bad plates, disobeyed police commands, resisted arrest, fought police, tried to escape in a car and endangered many people's lives. Perspective.

@Mac Jones Tasers are often produced in bright colors, or with neon accents, to distinguish them from pistols. The Brooklyn Center Police Department manual cites the Glock 17, 19, and 26 as standard-issue for the department. All three pistol models weigh significantly more than a typical Taser. Glocks also have a trigger safety that can be felt when touching the trigger. Tasers do not. Grips on Tasers are typically different from those of firearms, as well, though they may feel similar because both are usually made of a similar type of polymer.

If you insure payouts from misconduct charges with police retirement funds, as well as form an independent investegative body (none of that INTERNAL Affairs BS), and all cops would suffer from "bad apples", then they'd maybe start policing each other.
and the blue flue can be countered by simply firing the officers in question. Georgia, the country, not the state one fired 15,000 corrupt police in one day, and things even got better for a while.

Something along the lines of 1 member of a group represents all of the members of their group, and it is up to the rest of that group to call out the wrongdoing of the bad members then hold them accountable. And yet, police officers almost never do that!
