Do you have any lessons on advanced rhythm guitar if there is such a thing? I've been playing acoustic in church for decades and I'm stuck in boring rhythm playing. All the instructors I meet around here are lead guitar players and want to teach their students to solo on an electric guitar.
Some of us are growing older, and we actually need videos like this that can take us from zero to sixty while we are still yet alive here on earth. Does anyone notice those videos of guitar players? So tell me why do they pan the camera all around, and never, ever zero in on the Guitar Gods fingers so we all can watch and learn? :(
Hi james.I have a problem holdin the pick in place between my fingers. It seems to move or creep between my fingers. Are ther good acoustic picks to use?thanks!
Apple, Watermelon. Great idea..this is going to take me a long time to grasp as an older beginner, but the use of the words and vocalization is a an example of your ingenuity
Sorry but no if I start counting apples and watermelons a man with a padded jacket is going to come and take me away to a padded cell with little pictures of apples watermelons and a box of wax crayons so I can have a happy time rocking in a corner
You are right - it does start this way though before it can become second nature. Once you get the hang of it, you don't feel like you're counting all of the time, but before you do, you really should zero in on this essential skill.

60 years old just getting started
Also 60, the timing thing and the coordination of the two hands really trips me up but videos like this help make it fun

I have a hard time believing that every "good guitarist" is constantly counting while playing and singing.
