My experience in getting strumming to be consistent
It’s posture ,if the guitar is angled, most beginners do this to see the chords.
Try to be as 90 ddegrees as possible ,just try it,it’s one thing that helped me

Thanks James. Your detailing is superb.
The strike angle of the pick is well explained. Also, slow and precise and fast and loose are knacks for good control.

Great Lesson James! I typically don't use a pick but realize I do need to get comfortable with it for many songs: without nudging the strings with my thumb knuckle. Correcting hand posture (I think).

I was missing the rotation for years. Never thought I'd get it. Was digging in on the way up. Sounded choppy and terrible. Dropping picks and generally ready to give up. Then it clicked. I had to mimick the down angle while going up.
Thank you for your videos. I didn't need this one as I got the technique but love watching and liking your content. Thank you.

I admit one reason I quit guitar was I wasn't getting the upstroke to sound right. I think this video will help so I may pick it up again. One thing not covered in this video that did help me somewhat before was changing to a more flexible pick. The pick I was using was much too stiff. After changing I noticed a better sound but the bottom E was still over riding the other strings.

Thank you Sir. I had a mini pity party for myself tonight because after 2 months I still can't consistently strum with a pick. This really puts into focus what I need to concentrate on to improve my consistency. Thank you very much!

Great advice! I’ve been watching you for a while and appreciate what your doing. At some point I’ll sign up for one of your programs but for now, I’m just getting started. Just curious… what guitar do you use… I have my eye on a Martin DJR. For now I have a cheap guitar from Amazon. Serves the purpose. Thanks!
