- Batman vs Spider-Man. It’s one of the most iconic Marvel vs DC fights out there - up there with the likes of Superman vs Hulk or Thanos vs Darkseid. But, while it might be an iconic fight, it’s not necessarily a close fight. In fact, today I’m gonna show you why I think Batman vs Spider-Man isn’t even close

As a batman fan I do agree. Peter definitely hella op. Batman would need alot of plot armor, prep time, and planning to take down Spiderman.

If Batman just encounters Spiderman and knows nothing about him, he's not winning that engagement because Batmans power is in his skill, intelligence, and planning while Spidermans power is in his reaction time, agility, super strength, durability, and he's pretty comparable to Batman in intelligence, especially for his younger age.

Spider-man has to hold back. I mean a regular punch from Spidey has knocked out a T-rex. Spidey has also trained with Wolvrine, who has samurai training. Peter is also pretty smart. The guy has worked and fought some of the smartest guys in Marvel from Tony Stark to Doc Ock Heck he's dven helped bout the X-men. And they have Professor X and Beast. Spider-man is kind of crazy stat wise..

Spiderman is a class 10 superhero. Batman is peak human, which doesnt even equal class one. Each class equates to being able to bench press 1 ton (2,000 lbs) Spiderman can bench at least 10 tons (20,000 lbs). A body which can withstand that much weight can withstand anything Batman can dish out.

@@Bazooka652 I'm going by Marvel database. They say he can lift a minimum of 10 tons. In 616 universe, they said he was a class 10 superhero. 1 ton per class.I imagine he can lift probably close to 15 under extreme circumstances. Like when he's extremely angry.

Even with prep time it doesn't make much difference. Spider-Man is on par with Bat-Man in terms of intelligence, damn near a super genius. He's been recognized by Reed Richards for his intelligence on multiple occasions, and Reed is the smartest man in his verse in most iterations.
If a character needs prep time for the majority of matchups, then they should probably just not be compared to in a fight.

God point I would say yea but it would be a lot harder unlike the other JL members. For one because Spider-Man doesn’t have a definitive weakness like the other JL members making it harder to plan against.Spiderman is really more like Batman than any other JL member so there’s not gonna really be a lot Batman can go off of. that would be a no due to it being prep time and spider-man has fought task master who bread and butter is prep time, it would most likely be the contingency plan would be blank, and besides peter holds back on majority of his fights so even if batman had something, the data would be inaccurate to spidey 100% best
@@kamui_revenger7979 This all of this. Doc Orc and a few other genius level villians all later found out their data on Spidey was incorrect due to Pete's tendency to hold back. Only a very few (both villians and other heroes) know just how powerful he really is.
People forget some things with Peter.
1) He has two villain types that are basically The Bat that Laughs. (the goblins and Carnage)
2) He has more experience with a wider pool than Bats in combat. Literally around 75%+ of his rouges were made to specifically counter him while bats are either smart or strong, rarely both.
3) Sidey has a lot of tools too.
-Spider-tracers that tap into his Spider-Sense.
-Camera
-Flaslight
-Built-in gas mask (usually)
-Night-vision transitional lens.
-Various web types (electro, cement, fire, etc.)
4) Sidey is as smart, or possibly smarter, than Tony and Hank since he builds his stuff from garbage.
5) Spidey holds back, even when angry. As he can rip you head off with ease by holding your face alone with a single hand.

@@mamaaja9825All with prep. As it shows in his stories, without it and the right tool, he is defenseless. Bane's literal introduction has him nearly pitting Bruce into retirement. Even Carnage AND Venom, who are at least twice as strong as Spidey, couldn't dot that to him. These same being you mentioned beat him as well. Your point doesn't have as much merit when Spidey took on the same and won as well. Only difference, Spidey still holds back, Bats don't usually. He stops short of killing, if human or human-like. Spidey. Being multi-dimensional, which we are, doesn't mean your intelligence or critical thinking is higher. Look at Dark Sied, Lex is a level 12 and he isn't despite being a whole dimension. Spidey made a time machine with household parts.

People forget the Goblin is magical too, and has had things on par with planet level stuff. Carnage as well is magical, and nearly killed everything on Earth at once. I agree with this completely in a spontaneous fight. Understand, I'm a fan of both of these characters. Spidey would absolutely have the advantage. The first time they fight. While Batman is a master at finding weaknesses in the course of a fight, should he lose & not be killed by Spidey, he would learn by studying what went wrong & were his strengths & weaknesses are & very possibly win in a second fight.
Exactly. Batman gathers intel and escapes or survives his deadly first encounters. His superpower is to create strategy to take down opponents. Strategies that can take down opponents stronger than he is and even the most intelligent of characters don’t think of.

I've seen this fight play out, although they stopped it quickly. Batman understood he was outclassed without any difficulty. Yeah, it would be impossible for Batman to beat him in any true fair fight, and I could even see Spider-Man winning a fight with Batman alone but prepared---simply because Spider Man doesn't have many weaknesses that Batman could exploit, and he's even able to win under conditions where his Spider Sense is prevented from working or weaponized against him. He's defeated more powerful guys like Venom and Carnage who don't set it off at all.
It's completely fair to say Peter outclasses Bruce one-on-one with him losing a fight only under rare and extraordinary circumstances, perhaps if Batman is armed with one of the symbiotes (and I'm sure he would absolutely hate that idea), or in a case of plot armor.

I think Batman loses the first round but if there's a second, Spider-man is going to face an enemy like no other (batman with prep, crazy tech, and a new suit). Not trying to argue or anything. There’s no rules that indicates that Spider-Man can’t utilize any resources within reason that’s canon. Spider-Man is also a genius too. Bruce is smarter in some areas such as with detective skills but Peter is smarter in the realm of science and engineering. Batman only wins if he has prep time while spiderman doesnt. If it’s a random encounter fight or both have prep time, spiderman easily takes this

Removing everything else, simply with his Spidy-Sense, there is simply NO way the Batman can successfully get on over on Spider-Man without Spider-Man anticipating whatever it is, countering it, and then throwing down a stellar attack Batman simply has no time to, nor way to block.
Though I am not insane and definitely on the side of Spiderman winning, much MUCH lesser villains have bypassed spidey-sense not even intending to because they aren’t aware it exists yet. Batman, trained by the league of shadows and known for his mastery of stealth could 1000% get through spider sense.
Though like I said he still gets turned to mush in the end.
Many might think this is simple brains vs brawn, but Peter Parker has shown on many occasions that he's also extremely smart and capable of thinking on his feet. Prep time would not be a boon solely for Batman. Spiderman having prior intel on Batman and time to capitalize on it would be a serious problem for Bruce.

@@renatoxico0075 First of all Peter relied on Tony Stark's calculations for that, secondly Batman did that too, in minutes as the comic described it out of "crude materials". Batman also made an armor out of Element X which could rewrite fiction, made a device which could stop time till Flash was moving in slow motion, Batman found a way to get rid of sorcerer's powers like Dr. Fate or Circe, Batman invented a new element which worked on Wraith the same way kryptonite does on Superman etc.
He was able to defuse a bomb using the pacing of a clock. Something Reed freaking Richards and Tony frigging Stark couldn't even figure out. That's only one of his IQ feats. @imad-777

Both have genius level intelligence, both are smart fighters and both use "Prep" when available (although "prep" won't be applicable in this fight). Spiderman has dodged multiple attacks and continued his attack while blind, using just his agility and his "spider sense". Spiderman's unique fighting style, "The Way Of The Spider," will be completely unfamiliar to Batman as he's never seen it before. For me, the best way to tell who would win in a fight is to look at their regular opponents. Which one routinely defeats the more powerful opponents? If Spiderman's "Rogue's Gallery" fought Batman's "Rogue's Gallery," which one would be the most likely to win? Take Batman and Spiderman out of the fight (so no personal feelings are involved). For example, The Joker vs. The Green Goblin, The Sandman vs. Clayface or Killer Croc vs. The Lizard, etc. Which Rogue's Gallery wins? That's who would be the most likely to win when the two heroes fight each other also.
Thats a tough one actually....zero prep? Just a random encounter? 6 v6? Idk man...depends of which iterations..but generally id go with the sinister six.
And which six for Batman? Bane def, Ras al Ghaul, Joker, Clay face, poison ivy, and slade Wilson maybe?
For spidey you have Venom, Kraven the hunter, Green goblin or Hobb goblin, Mysterio, Sandman and Lizard(Dr.Connors).
For Batmans RG you could have Bane, Ras Al Ghaul, Joker, poison Ivy and swap out either Clayface or Slade for Solomon Grundy...and Grundy is kinda OP in certain iterations.. which could turn the tides in the battle between villans..
Poison Ivy can control plants and since trees are everywhere she could do damage and protect...Bane and Grundy are the power houses .. joker and Ras are the tacticians... clay face is dangerous bc he can nake multiple weapons out of his forms...6/10 this group wins if its their above average forms.
But if you're going with Batmans top villans in the above average verisons then you can swap characters with Spideys villans. So Venom, Green Goblin, Mysterio, Sandman, Lizard and Carnage.
Sandman can do what Clayface does, Venom and Carnage are the powerhouses who will WRECK shit, Mysterio and GG are the tacticians. They don't have someone there for protection like Poison Ivy but Lizard is strong, fast and extremely durable... I'm sticking with Spidermans Rogue Gallery.
Spider-Man almost always holds back knowing the damage he could do...but when he let's it all go, like against Kingpin as Peter and not Spider-Man, he's waaay more deadly in revenge mode
Way of the Spider was stupid. Peter is smart and experienced enough to come up with a solution and adapt to the situation. I know it’s only fiction, but I highly disagree at the idea of Shang Chi showing Spider-Man how to Spider. It should have been someone else like Miguel or Madam Web.

A lot of his villains have done that to him plenty of times Messed with his mind to the point of almost killing him on several occasions, even in the comics. Peter Parker has a tendency to talk too much and ends up giving vital information to his enemy that could be used against him in which he doesn't realize until it's too late And yes he has his spider senses But I remember him getting his butt handed to him in most of his fights and barely lands the lucky punch 👊 to win the fight.
I'm glad people agree with this. Even those who talk about "prep time Batman" have to concede that "prep time Spiderman" is arguably just as OP, if not more so. Spiderman imo is kind of the opposite of Batman in this way. For all the times where writers have to give Batman plot armor in order for him to win, writers often have to give Spiderman... negative plot armor in order for him to even be touched. I think this is because Spiderman as a character is often written as an underdog, he's supposed to struggle, whereas Batman is written as an established legend who's supposed to dominate.

Spider-Man and Batman are tied as my favorite Superheroes but I always say Spider-Man is one of those few that even with plot armor and prep time I don't see him beating Spidey in the majority of scenarios, I agree with you on the Spider Sense, thats probably his strongest ability, especially in No Way Home when Tom Hollands version could sense the personality change in Green Goblin with the Goblin taking over it's basically like a form of precognition, Bats is smart and a Master Tactition, but there's no weakness to prep for there's no radioactive Rocks, or tying him up, or the color yellow, or fear of fire, or anything of the sort to exploit, he's just out of his element

Completely agree that Spider-Man would beat Batman. In the mini series Secret Wars Spider-Man had a scuffle with the entire X-man team including professor X. In a very short amount of time he disabled all of them. None could match his combination of speed, skill, strength and combat ability. Batman would be about as tough to beat as mysterio imo.

The MCU pretty recently debunked that too. Even when his Spirit was pushed out of his body it was still able to give Doctor strange a hard time moving around on autopilot as if it was sentient even without peters soul within it.😅

As is often the case with Batman, it comes down to prep and how much time he has for it. If it's mano a mano, out of the blue, then Spidey probably curb stomps Bats. However, if they have a foreknowledge of the fight, then Batman's greatest power as a strategist comes into play. The first thing bats is going to do is study Spidey's powers. He's going to figure out something to counteract the webbing. Either some sort of lubricant that he can coat his suit and maybe everything on the battlefield if possible so the webbing has nothing to stick to and/or maybe something to instantly dissolve the webbing. (The latter already exists since Peter himself keeps a chemical on hand to do just that.) If Bruce finds out about the Spider-sense, then Peter is in *BIG* trouble. There have been cases where opponents turned the sense against Spidey. (The one that I most remember was a "What if...?" where The Punisher set up some explosives to look like Doc Ock. The explosives set off the Spidey-Sense, but Peter attacked the dummy, thinking it was real. Frank set off the bomb while he was right on top of it. Killed Peter instantly.) Bruce's entire way of dealing with metahumans is generally to turn their powers against them. His ability to plan against their powers is why one of the JLA's greatest threats was his contingencies falling into the hands of one of their enemies.

Spider-Man wins. Though Batman will find a weakness as the great detective he is. Spider-Man could web Batman, but he might cut through the webbing with something in his utility belt. Strength wise, Spider-Man could easily break Batmans face with a punch. This was definitely an interesting fight to hear about.
Prep time. Everyone says all Bats need is prep time. Spider sense beats all the time in the world. Spidey also has an assortment of gadgets depending on the storyline. Lastly, he also learned from Iron Fist and Daredevil. The latter being trained by the Hand. Basically Marvel’s league of shadows. I love Bats but I believe Webhead is a hero who would beat Bats hand to hand. His abilities put him over the top.

Obviously Spiderman turns Batman to paste in this fight but I really wouldn’t bet on vengeance not being able to find a weakness. That’s his thing.
Spiderman is also very smart, he counters Batman on every level, so on a general one on one match Spiderman will win, but if Batman is aware of Spiderman ahead of time, that could change things to some degree.
Batman is one of my favorite characters but lets be honest he also has the most plot armor of all comic book characters. There is literally no way he is beating anyone outside of humans even with planning. The flash, superman, wonder woman etc can all move faster than Batman can see let alone think about how to defend against or predict what is coming next. Superman can crack the earth with his hits so there is no armor strong enough to defend against a blow from him or characters near his strength. Spider man isnt as powerful as them but still can move faster than Batman can see or think about responding to. Plus also has the strength to just annihilate batman.
Batman is so popular because he is more relatable as a human than aliens or meta humans. His charaxter desingn is also amazing as well as his character. I love Batman but i know fully well he is outclassed by anyone that isn't a human.

Bruce would require more approaches to handle Peter, wether using his resources to threaten Peter’s identity being exposed if he doesn’t comply, luring Peter into a situation where he’d exhaust himself or potentially get injured in an effort to level the playing field or relying on some of his more advanced weapons, specifically as his mech-suits such as the Justice Buster or Hell Bat, in an attempt to physically outclass Peter.

Spider-Man has beaten Wolverine nearly to a pulp with his bare hands, breaking a cemetery headstone with Wolverine's skull like a speed bag while he was tripping on hallucinogens he was drugged with in the mid-80's, well before he was getting any formal fighting training under his belt.
I love Batman, but powers-wise, I think he'd know going after Spider-Man would likely incur a lot of medical bills, at the very least, or reduce him to a red smear on a wall in the worst case scenario and bow out.
Can’t leave out Spideys Spider sense. That would have him disabling most, if not all of Batman’s tech. Spoderman is just in a different category. Of course he’s in a different category than 90% of comic characters. Not sure why some people compare him to Batman.

Whenever i have this conversation with people about Batman vs any other character, it boils down to one question: is Batman aware of them existing or not? Cause if he is, then he has a plan with like 15 backup plans in place to take them down. If he knows they exist, then i would say its a good fight and it comes down to factors like what gadgets they have, fatigue if they have just been in another fight, etc... but if its the first time Batman is meeting the other character and he has no knowledge of them, then yeah this would be no contest in favor of Spidey. But if Batman knows, then its a real fight.
I feel like this fight would be more akin to a ballet, just a beautiful dance of dips, weaves, and dodges, with only the most meaningful of blows!

Spidey sense is too good. As soon as he’s in danger it alerts him and he’s fast enough to react to most of the danger he faces. He can get hit but it has to be really fast, almost impossible to dodge or he hesitates why his spidey senses are going off?

Batman was able to take on Superman while in his 50s. If he had to take on Spiderman, he'd carefully study his abilities, and come up with a way to neutralize all of them.
Heck, even Mysterio and the Green Goblin at different times figured out how to neutralize Spiderman's webbing, cause him to lose his ability to stick to walls, and dull his spider sense using chemical agents.

The real reason Peter Parker would defeat Bruce Wayne, in a fight, is due to his intelligence and smart mouth. Parker may very well be smarter than Wayne is. This means he’s going to see through all the theatricality. That air of intimidation is about 90% of what makes Wayne so effective. Take that edge away from him, and he really is just a guy, albeit an extraordinarily conditioned one, in a costume with a bunch of really expensive, themed toys.
Seeing Bruce that way, Pete would just start ripping on the man, mocking him in ways that cut really deep. The entire time he’s doing this, he’s also dodging everything Wayne’s throwing at him without breaking a sweat. Somewhere in there, Bruce gets really angry, stops thinking strategically and starts getting reckless. That’s when Parker would take him down and wouldn’t understand what the big deal was as he was doing it. The inevitable rematch would basically go the same way. Bruce Wayne would end up really not liking Spider-Man. Meanwhile, Peter Parker would think Batman was grossly overrated.

I totally agree with you, the fight will be 80-20 odds in favor of Spiderman. Batman will need all of the advantage he can get like hitting Spiderman the way Iron Fist did along with prep time to have a perfect battle plan to beat Spiderman and execute it to perfection, no window for mistakes. Also, he needs to be fighting a younger version of Spiderman like Captain America did in the
Civil War movie. But other than Batman has no chance with Spiderman's powers on the mature Peter's skill level.
That is why the best match for Batman is Captain America since Cap is more like Deathstroke, they are the best fighter of each universe.
I think the better opponent for Spiderman from DC is either The Flash or Superboy.
Context matters. Where does this fight take place, how familiar are the combatants with each other, is the fight spontaneous or premeditated, etc. Too many variables. A prepared Batman vs. unprepared Spider-Man in a confined space is very different from an unprepared Batman vs. a prepared Spider-Man in an open space.
If Peter was trained by Bruce after receiving his powers he would be so much more formidable in general, especially if he was trained to become Bruce's replacement- as in access to the wealth, tech and connections of Bruce Wayne/Batman. This would be a very worthwhile crossover to see happen imo
The thing about these two is that Batman always pushes himself past his limits to beat metahumans while Spiderman is ALWAYS holding back. Except the situations when he knows his opponent can actually take his full-strength punches like Venom or Carnage. Don't discount Peter's intelligence. He is actually a genius who developed his amazing web shooters, WHILE STILL IN HIGHSCHOOL. And when Spiderman comes across a villain who has some huge advantage over him, Spiderman can rework his web fluid to counter the advantage. There also have been many incidents where Spiderman has won a battle by outsmarting his opponent, and while I believe Batman can still outsmart Spiderman tactically, Batman would have to work for it.
As much as I like Batman, Spiderman would come out victorious in a fight between the two.
