- I am very proud to say that Kerry Livgren (Ex-member of KANSAS, composer of this song) himself commented on this collaboration in a facebook post stating "I have to hand it to these guys. Their rendition is EXACT".

Here we go, another long-term project (almost 6 years) finally finished.
This is my 4th and will most likely be my last Kansas-Collab, the more proud I am, because it is my favorite Kansas song. Most of my favorite Kansas tunes were already perfectly covered by my good friends from OURVIRTUAL KANSAS (OVK) ... so please visit their channel to see and hear more awesome Kansas Covers. ( / ourvirtualkansas ) ... btw Ron, Matt, Len, George and Jorge are also part of OVK.
We started this at the end of 2011 while still finishing the Portrait-Collab with exactly the same team. Due to delays of some of the musicians because of health troubles, private problems and extreme busyness (LOL), we had to pause the project for more than 2 years. After resuming work in 2015 some of the collaborators couldn't or didn't want to finish their parts (in our case the videos) anymore, even though all the audio was already recorded. So we had to find replacement.
Unfortunately all the guitarists (three, to mention the number) I asked couldn't do the job, so after losing another almost 2 years waiting, I decided to record the main guitars myself, this was exactly 4 weeks ago.
After not having touched a guitar for more than 3 years, I had to make the painful experience, that it was impossible for me to practice more than 20 minutes a day until my fingers started to hurt. Furthermore not having strength enough anymore for controlling bends and vibratos was very frustrating too. I was really close to give up. At the end it is for YOU to judge if I succeeded, so please be gentle with the criticism ... LOL!
The lead vocals were not a big problem, because I already had my friend Len in mind for the job. He spontaneously agreed and it took him not even 4 to 5 weeks until we had his audio and video on the table. Here again a huge THANKS to you Len, you didn't just save this project, but you also made it shine with your incredible voice and singing skills ... I raise my had to you!
Kudos also to the entire team, without you guys, this wouldn't have been possible, and thanks for the patience and for not giving up!

Thank you my friend for the nice comment. Yeah in deed a monster from every point of view. Never used so much audio and video tracks for one project. Just in my DAW, I had more than 80 tracks for the audio, btw not MUCH more as in our upcoming project ;) what will be the next on my to do list, I promise.
Yeah the pickguard is fancy, Blade Guitars call it "Sepia Mirror".

Hey Richie you did an amazing job on this! I can't imagine the amount of effort it took to not only play, not only mix and master, not only produce the video, and also play guitar parts... Just amazing. This deserves a million views! Len is such an incredibly talented vocalist. I sure wish I had his pipes!! You nailed the keys and guitars Richie. It's really something that you can do both with such skill. The rest of your band it top notch as well.

@@geraldhartley A friend of our collab drummer Matt, who appears to be a close friend of Kerry's, posted our collab video on Kerry's private facebook page. And Kerry commented: "I have to hand it to these guys. Their rendition is EXACT."
I also could see all his facebook entries, even without being his fb friend. He didn't almost comment on anything, what was posted there. So we really felt very special and honored about his comment.

Thank you my friend, believe me I wish I could have spared myself the trouble to play guitar on this one, but what you wanna do, if nobody is willing to do the job. We came that far, so I didn't want to let it fail just because of that. I am pleased that you could enjoy it anyway. Btw I will compete against myself in this "Longest to finish a collab" contest with another project, that is STILL not finished yet and started almost at the same time ... so stay tuned ... LOL!
