A Tribute to YES COLLABORATION - Tempus Fugit (Drama)

- "Tempus Fugit", one of my all-time favorite songs by YES.
One day I coincidently found the bass/drum video from Tom and his brother Dave on RUclips, so i thought, ok, thats already half the battle. I asked them to join my full cover collaboration and they agreed. For vocals we couldn´t imagine nobody else better than Tim, who's voice is so similar to Jon Anderson's. We thought, would be interesting to record this song from the DRAMA album, where actually Trevor Horn was responsible for the lead vocals, with a voice, which looks more like Anderson's. Tim accepted
now was just missing the guitarist, so Tom indicated C from Argentina, with whom he already worked on other Yes Collaborations before. The team was complete!
At this point, I wanna take the opportunity to thank Tom, Dave, Tim and C for making this project, which means really a lot to me, possible at all. You all did an excellent job, and I feel proud and honored that I could work with such outstanding musicians like you my friends. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
This is my first Collab, where I am responsible for audio and video at the same time. I have lots of experience in mixing audio, but concerning to video editing and production I am still a bloody rookie. Nevertheless I hope you will still enjoy our tribute to one the most brilliant bands in Progressive Rockmusic ever ... YES!!!

So sorry to hear of your loss...on my mothers' b'day as well. A sad but memorable date as a result. Mum died 11 years ago, still wipes me out now and again. The penalty of love.

Exactly, Jizzy. I was your age when I started getting into YES (and so much more advanced stuff) rather than sitting around listening to the crap that was pounding on the radio back in the day. Wow, awesome! What can I say, these Collabs are so damn good and all of you did a great job! To play a YES song is really not so easy, but you did it as the band did! Still one of my fave Yes tunes. I remember asking for the local record store (Sound Warehouse) to play this when it came out, over and over again. All the kids looking through the latest stuff would look up and say "What is THAT?!" Maybe they just didn't understand "good" music when they heard it. I hate that this video has been taken down so many times. Nice to see it gets posted back up here!! Great stuff!! PERFECT! Thanks so much!! :)

First of Rich, allow me to express my condolences on the loss of your friend. What a great way to pay tribute to him! Next, what can I say but, FANTASTIC JOB! That goes for EVERYONE playing, naturally, but also to your video work. LOVE the graphics and Firebird Suite background intro and credits. I had seen Tom and Dave's excellent cover before, but making it a full collab (with C and you on keys) just gives it even greater depth! Brilliant, guys! Congrats!

Im a Yes fan and I love this song...great cover here! I dig the drummer's shirt too! I have an original game used version of that jersey from 1965 that was used by the Detroit Tigers and then sent down to a minor league team in Lakeland FL, so it says "Lakeland" on it. But, you can still see where "Detroit" used to be if you hold it up to the light! :)
theres only a few yes songs i know of that i really like, which are the more popular ones, but you all did really great covering this.
I dont believe that Tom and Dave could played Yes music so clearly.

Wow Richie, I always loved this song and it sounds fantastic. Actually that doesn't surprise me considering all the talented guys who contributed to it. Bravo to all. Great job on the video work too my friend. The changes looked cool and this was fun to watch. Now I gotta play it again louder. :)
Hey Erik, thanx for the comment. I am not using sheet music, sometimes I am using midi files but mostly they are not perfect, so for the last details only by ear!

Yes, I am impressed guys. I play bass, yes is the fav, I'm a bit older then your
guys, (50). But clean and sober, I can rip all the classics and Tempus is a favorite.
I have worked on the Yessongs version of Fish for years, just about have it with
plenty of myself in the mix. Squire was an unusual player, he seemed almost sloppy at times, but he was more like a cat, always landing on his feet.

@MRWSSHORTY: DANKE SEHR LOTHAR, in deed YES is a hard to cover, not just because of the instrumental skills of the musicians. YES were always pioneers in reaching new levels of sound quality and production ... This album was produced 1980 by Eddy Offord (ELP, DIXIE DREGS) and Trevor Horn, who is one of the most successful producers of the 80s and 90s (Grammy Award 1995 for producing Seal "kiss from a rose") ... so it´s very flattering to be at least rudimentally compared with our big idols.
