- What would make me sell shares of my biggest investment and favorite company Tesla? If Elon stopped working at the company would be the biggest reason I can think of. Other than that if the financial situation changes and earnings/cashflow outlook changes significantly. For now though, Tesla appears to be in incredible shape and is my top financial holding.

Becoming less and less of an Elon fanboy myself. Love Tesla, love the mission, long term, I am starting to think the company is better of without Elon. Not completely there yet, but he is finally starting to get on my nerves. He should definitely stop doing politics...
I think tsla is still a hold (depending on your initial or average book cost basis) even if let's say god forbid Elon died today though, no?

Yes a lot of the growth would die with Elon but I wouldn't see it as a complete sell either
A lot of long term Tesla investors are getting fed up with it. Sold half my all in investment and bought other stocks. Tesla just treats us like cac. You have to be a true believer or you get nothing. They have almost no reason to be invested for the next 18 months.
To me Elon is now more a liability (as CEO) than an asset.
Yes, Pete Butegiegg will make a much better CEO as soon as Tesla is broken by the judges and nationalized. He will run the company into the ground to give Government Motors their fair share back.
Original founders are not with the company anymore - Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning
And both made the Model 3. And both slept in the factory floor until the production started for real. Right?

Everyone I know that works high up at his startups only talks about how much time and energy they waste managing Elon. He’s good at manipulating investors, hiring the right people, and letting some of them take risks in the beginning. Lately, he’s more nuisance than anything.

I will sell my s-l-o-w-l-y growing number of shares when I buy my first Tesla.
As an Elon fan boy myself, I am starting to get turned off with how much of a fan boy this guy is. Elon has flaws that need to be talked about (so he can hopefully fix them) Tesla is a great company, just like apple it will probably still grow after the founder leaves.

I do not see any "flaw" that we can talk about. Everything everyone tells me about Elon's "flaws" is either FUD or only good for tik tok.
Whether he names his son Jonas or XZY is his personal thing - and his son's.
Whether he is married to one wife or many wifes at the same time is his personal thing.
Whether he buys X oder Disney with his own money is his personal thing.
You do not want to tell me where and which milk i buy right?
Whether he insults those that have it coming to them - and i am fully aware and fully endorse his behavior in that case and i personally insult those effing mainstream media as much as i can - together with the rightist, leftiest, communists and all other dogmatics from azis, Governments, Churches and elsewhere.
You can blame him for being overenthusiastic. You can blame him for being overly optimistic about timelines.
In my book those are not flaws.

Apple has performed better under Tim Cook than Jobs. He is a stable CEO.

Right now the only thing that would make me keep Tesla is if Moscow Musk resigns. He's proven how much of a despicable human being he is.
